Jeffrey walked on the blacktop pavement, it was a familiar place for him. The blue and orange brick buildings were just the same as he remembered them.
Primary school, the only difference was that he was a little older now and taller than the kids at the playground.
Jeffrey saw his two sisters on the monkey bars hanging upside down. Saoirse and Raine were climbing back and forth, Saoirse was inseparable from her older sister.
Jeffrey walked over to meet them.
Raine saw him first, "Jeffrey!"
"Hey Raine", Jeffrey said hugging her.
Saoirse not wanting to be left out jumped onto him as well.
"Hey Saoirse, nice to see you too", he greeted her.
"What are you guys playing?", Jeffrey asked his sisters.
"We were playing Crossing the Alligator", Raine started to explain.
"You have to hang on the monkey bars and get to the other side, but if you fall you get eaten by the Alligators", Raine continued.
"Yeah, and if you grab the other person you can pull them out of the water", Saoirse piped up.
Raine and Saoirse started to demonstrate and asked Jeffrey if he wanted to join them.
"Yeah, I'll play with you", Jeffrey smiled as he started chasing his sisters around.
Soon another classmate of his appeared, Ryan Castanon went to pick up his little brother. The twins Nick and Ned was his carpool, with Zachary Taylor tagging along as well.
"Hey Ryan", Jeffrey called out.
"Hi Jeffrey", Ryan responded.
"Picking up your sisters?", Ryan asked Jeffrey.
"Yep, you're picking up your brother?", Jeffrey asked back.
"Same as you", Ryan answered.
Mrs. Babbington and her son Andy came out to give them their art from class.
"Saoirse, Raine, Justin", she said to their siblings, "Here's your watercolor lilies from art class."
Mrs. Babbington handed over a large piece of black paper with their drawings on them. Each of them had the artists signature on the back.
"Well I've got to get going Jeffrey", Ryan said.
"We're leaving soon as well", Jeffrey replied back.
"Have a good day, Ryan", Jeffrey said his goodbyes.
"You too", Ryan said as they headed toward their brown van.
Raine and Saoirse started talking about their day, the games they played and what they had for lunch.
"We had smiley face french fries and chicken for lunch", Raine said.
"Tomorrow's pizza Friday!", Saoirse joined in.
"Pizza Friday", Raine chanted.
"I love Pizza Friday", Saoirse agreed with her.
The three of them walked to the planters at the front of the school as they waited to be picked up. Soon they saw a silver Honda Odyssey pull up to the curb and they all got in the car.
"How was school today", their father asked them.
"Good", Raine responded as always.
"How about you Saoirse?", he asked her.
"It was ok", she said.
"It was ok? Why was it only ok?", his father asked his younger sister.
Jeffrey silently sat in one of the seats busy thinking about what he was going to do next.
