Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Alex also bathed himself with the blood droplets of rain. Unlike other zombies, he felt no changes on his body but he felt an energy inside him.

It was slowly accumulating inside his belly button like puff of cloud and started spinning faster.

He felt the life energy around him from the plants and greedily breathed in those energy.

BOOM! He felt an influx of energy expanding rapidly inside him and it never stopped.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Three consecutive bombing inside him and his ears buzzed. He closed his eyes and immediately felt the energy also expanded to its limit.

Then, he opened his eyes. His eye vision took a larger range to see long distances than before.

He gasped as he looked around while his eye vision expanded more into twenty kilometers but it gave a heavy toll on his eyes.

He felt heavy on his eyes and rubbed it twice to reduce the heaviness as it quickly turned passive.

"Just...what happened?" he murmured to himself and touched his muscles on his arms and legs. It's getting numb and aching all over his body.

Alex sat down on the grass ground as he gazed around the zombie hordes. Then, his eyes shone delightedly as he saw many zombie rats evolved into first class zombie soldier while his mouth drooled uncontrollably.

"Zombie crystals and brains~~!" he exclaimed inside him and started counting how many first class zombie soldier are there.

"1, 2, 3...15" he was stunned. He didn't expect that there will be fifteen first class zombie soldier. He thought that it could only be counted not more than two hands.

"Guaaaahhhh!!!"

"Guaaahhhh!!!"

"Guaaahh!!"

All first class zombie soldier howled loudly up to the sky and Alex felt his blood boiling hotter than average boiling point.

It was not painful but it made his face flushed and his hair grew longer down to his knees while its black color changed into dark red.

Alex tried standing up but his head turned dizzy like he is slowly becoming muddle-headed.

'No! I don't want to become a zombie!!' he screamed inside his head and a chain which held him back for five years for being a normal human.

Then, the energy inside his belly button spinned even faster than before as it is fighting with its might against the energy intruder, which wanted to control Alex.

Alex strongly resisted the energy intruder while panting heavily as he couldn't breath properly. He clenched his hands into a fist until it bleeds out a dark red blood.

The dark red blood flowed out of his hands to the ground. It emits a hot air and slowly corroded the grass where the dark red blood dropped one after another.

Suddenly, his dark red hair changed its color into ash or white gray and felt his blood cooling down which made him heaved a huge relief.

....

"Sir, we found the trails left behind by Sam and his group but it ended in the sugar grainery nearby the R Farmhouse" Tristan reported to Nathaniel. He is the little assistant of Wilson whenever there's a need to report to Nathaniel.

Nathaniel pressed his forehead. Sam and his group were his greatest headache. He didn't expect such treachery to happen and caused many casualties.

So, he decided on tracking Sam and his group which served as his explanation to the bereaved families.

"Then, order a lockdown issue to the perimeter of sugar grainery and let our men search around it. If you found someone suspicious, arrest that person for the interrogation" Nathaniel immediately ordered

"Yes, Sir!" Tristan saluted and ran towards the location of Wilson who is currently in-charged of the investigation.

Tristan saluted to Wilson and told him of what Nathaniel ordered them to do. Wilson immediately understand.

Although it sounds like it is just a simple order, but, in reality, they are looking for a potential helpers of Sam and his group by any means that person is still around.

Perhaps!

Wilson executed the order and personally supervised it until the sky is turning dark.

"Halt the search! Halt the search!" many soldiers reported to their comrades who are searching far away from the temporary shelter they hide in.

Wilson entered Claudio's office and saw him slouching on the seat while reviewing each folders. It contained the reports of other soldiers from the other shelters they had passed by.

"I think you need to relax sometimes. Don't exhaust yourself too much. Otherwise, it will be our lose" Wilson puffed with anger as he felt the burdens on his friend's back.

"I'm fine. I can still move around" Nathaniel said without glancing to Wilson. He knows Wilson too well and doesn't mind his rudeness, although he is the superior.

"What a stubborn man. I'm not that concern to you, okay? Many survivors are following you because of your great contributions to the group but..."

"...we still cannot find a suitable location to relocated our shelter"

Wilson tried his best to make Nathaniel rest but Nathaniel just sat there while flipping through the folders.

"I'll certainly look for a better environment as our shelter base. We don't need to rush" Nathaniel said as he spotted a young man's profile. He looked familiar to him and at the same time, he's not. It is Alex Fernandez's profile. His profile is very ordinary.

Nathaniel squinted, "Very ordinary means very abnormal" he murmured to himself as he scrutinized the young man's face.

He is too young. He has a cute dimples, long eyelashes and pink cheeks. Alex looked like a little girl in the profile.

If he didn't see the 'MALE' on gender section, he will doubt his eyes. Certainly.

"I know you're cautious and meticulous person so I'm not rushing. You need sleep for better decision making here" Wilson sighed as he knows he cannot persuade his friend at all! However, his pleading eyes made Nathaniel see him as an abandoned puppy.

'Having an outstanding friend is a headache, too' Wilson cursed inside

"Fine. I'll sleep" Nathaniel finally surrendered to his friend's plea.

"Good. I'll go now" Wilson immediately rushed out of Alex's room and started forming a plan for the next rescue operation.
