Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

Douglas were slamming on to the door with his body but the door wouldn't budge.

"What should we do?" Douglas was about to reprimand his men to find a way to open the door, when Nathaniel and Wilson. behind them.

"What's wrong?" Wilson asked as he saw the Team Alpha's defeated look.

"Sir, we cannot open the door and there's no doorknob for us to forcefully open" Douglas said as he retreated behind their two superiors.

"Check the third floor. Wilson and I will handle it" Nathaniel said as an excuse. He needs to use his ability while the others are around them.

"Yes!" as they retreated and went upstairs.

Nathaniel controlled his ability. The door looked like it is made of wood but that's a facade. On the deeper part of the wood is a metallic wall. Thus, the door is mainly made of metals.

The side edge of the door bent to the side which gave spaces for them to enter through.

As they stepped inside the room, they saw a collections of military armaments. There are different types of armaments inside.

"Wow! Awesome! We have enough weapons to fight against zombies now!" Wilson exclaimed as he was looking left and right.

"Can we have them?" Wilson suddenly remembered that they were trespassing the house of someone as he hung down his shoulder dejectedly.

Yes, it is already zombie apocalypse but they haven't even know if the house owner is dead or alive.

"Let's wait for the house owner to come back and ask for his permission first" Nathaniel also doubted if the house owner is dead or alive but there's nothing to lose if they are waiting for him to come back.

"Oliver, come here with three men with you" Nathaniel said to his walkie talkie while his eyes couldn't help but looked around carefully.

Indeed. There are many types of weapons inside and he became suspicious of the house owner's family background.

Only the wealthy family whose involved in military could have a collection of weapons unless that family had illegal business in the underworld before the zombie apocalypse era.

Oliver and his other three men arrived.

Except the weapons, Nathaniel tasked them to search around if there are other valuable things inside.

"Sir, there's a bloody shirt inside the last room. What should we do with it?" one of Oliver's men asked while showing him the bloody shirt as he was picking it up by using the arrow, which was displayed on the wall before.

"It's useless to know whose blood it was but secure to our empty medical box first" Wilson chimed in as he didn't for Nathaniel's order.

After being best friends and comrades for a long time, there was tacit understanding between them.

"Yes, Sir!" the man who picked up the bloody shirt earlier.

"Have you found anything suspicious here?" Nathaniel asked Oliver if they have found any valuable.

"Except for the bloody shirt, Sir. We found nothing" Nathaniel left the weaponry room. He was standing in front the staircase as he looked up.

"Okay, Let's check the other floors upstairs" Nathaniel led his men to search around the third floor and found nothing.

"Third floor, Clear!" Oliver reportedly shouting while they stayed vigilantly as usual and lead his men towards the another staircase going up.

However, they sensed danger and immediately paused their steps.

"What's wrong?" Nathaniel asked.

"Sir, there are mechanism around the fourth floor. We need to be careful. We cannot enter there except the staircase" Oliver reported as he was searching for the positions of the traps.

"I think, it is a trap mechanism. It is well hidden but I dont how will it activate" Oliver shared his knowledge about traps since he was born in the countryside before he joined the army.

"How can we deactivate it?" Nathaniel felt troubled. He doesn't to risk the lives of his men just because they couldn't go upstairs.

"If the mechanism is built-in, the only way to deactivate it, is to activate all mechanism first while waiting for it to stop on its own" Oliver responded.

"Isn't that too risky?" Wilson felt heavy inside his chest.

"There's no other way. It is also risky if we manually deactivate it because just by standing in there, the mechanism will be activated immediately" Oliver only job was reporting the sitautions or sharing his knowledge about traps to them. Other than that, he's inferior to these two young superiors.

"Fine. I'll be the bait" Nathaniel volunteered as he was folding his sleeves and was about to take action when he heard of Oliver's men's findings.

"Sir, our Grid-EYE sensor detected a human life upstairs in one of the five rooms" they concluded after seeing the reaction of the sensor towards fourth floor while it was beeping sounds.

"We don't even know if that human in there is the house owner or just a victim being locked up" Wilson was opposing Nathaniel's impulsive pursue to go upstairs. If possible, they could just wait for that person upstairs to wake up.

"Then, there is more reason why we need to stop the mechanism before going inside that room" However, Nathaniel was worried after thinking that the person upstairs might be tied up or knocked unconscious inside while the house owner went outside for a hunt.

Nathaniel immediately ran towards the staircase while they all heard the sounds of activating trap mechanism.

" Nathan!" Wilson could only shout his name.
