[You have killed an Intermediate 'Red-Hollow Lykos'.]
[Level up!]
Just like in games, it seems that these monsters seem to respawn as each of them are killed. Alan kept swinging his sword, wiping them out one by one as they kept increasing in number.
[Level up!]
Alan had no intention of leaving no trace of a single monster on the second floor. He wanted to clear every one of these monsters, who knows if this dungeon could be entered once used. He killed until he could no longer level up.
'Even though I wanted to leave out of desperation… I think I'm starting to get the hang of this.'
Although there were high-tier monsters, there were as well as other monsters. For quite a while, he's now been adapting to his survival in the dungeon as well as predicting their moments of the monsters that would try to attack him.
'Crow from behind….'
He ducked and swiftly lifted his sword and sliced it in half.
"Kriieaak!!"
'Then one black jaguar up ahead…'
Alan then twists his body and swings towards another monster in front coming at high speed.
'One snake from left and right…'
He then immediately drops the sword and shifts his body a little as he raises both of his arms, getting a hold of two snakes on his hand, and smashes them together as blood squirts from them.
"Kriiiis!!"
"Kraaiiis!!"
[You have killed an Intermediate 'Corrupted Black-Blade Blagan'.]
[You have killed an Intermediate 'Corrupted Dark-Claw Coronis'.]
[You have killed a Low 'White Bloodless Naga'.]
[You have killed an Intermediate 'White Bloodless Naga'.]
Following these 4 monsters killed, Alan wiped out the whole dungeon. He doesn't know why, but it seems that he felt stronger than before when he first entered the dungeon. However, it seems that his level won't be increasing anymore.
His current level was 17, but it seems he won't be able to level up for a while.
"Stats."
Strength: 40
Stamina: 18
Agility: 18
Endurance: 18
Intelligence: 17
Perception: 18
(Available attribute points: 0)
'Phew… man all my stats have increased a ton. And for quite a while now, I'm adjusting to this."
Alan has now started to feel the difference of his strength back then. Not only has he leveled up to level 17, but has also remotely grown stronger than ever. At first, he doubted he'd get any stronger, but now, he is sure that without a doubt, the system can make him stronger.
Not only has he grown stronger, but everything around him seems to get slower than he usually views. For example, for a while he's been fighting and killing monsters throughout the dungeon, and not only have their movements have become slower, but also Alan's senses have increased in hearing better and sensing. This is a huge improvement!
'Unbelievable…'
If he can keep leveling up like this, then does this mean he could soon surpass many heroes and villains.
No, he could even go further beyond, maybe even surpass the Hero Aurora…
Although Alan may possess the power to get stronger, this doesn't mean he's invincible. There's still so much to do and learn from this. He can't get carried away so easily.
"Besides, there's still an unpleasant aura down there."
Alan glazes towards the stairs leading to the next floor. Although he may have gotten stronger, he still felt nervous about whatever is down there. Sure there were many things that were differently not normal, however, this particular feeling just isn't normal.
'This isn't normal. I may have gotten stronger but just the feeling is giving me chills.'
His body shook, not by being nervous but by intimidation. Alan just wasn't normally accustomed to these types of situations.
He shook his head. Since he can't leave in the first place, there's no point in trying to leave with the runestone. He needed to defeat the boss so he could exit the dungeon.
'There's no point in leaving, I'm already strangled here. So I might as well defeat this thing.'
Alan then starts heading down the stairs, each time he took a step, the tension of the air felt more chilly. He gripped his sword tightly with his right hand. For some reason, the more he walks down, the longer it gets.
The lighting was getting darker, of course, Alan had no problem with seeing since his perception was quite high. His eyesight has improved greatly because of his perception.
He soon arrived at the end of the stairs, however, it seems that the whole railroads and trains were completely abandoned. Hell, it seems worse than the other floors.
The whole surroundings were covered in water. This floor looked more like a river or lake.
What is only considered to be dry land is where Alan's standing and a couple of trains floating throughout the waters. The walls were covered in dark green vines making them look desecrated. There were even large roots attached to some walls.
'Is this a jungle perhaps?'
Looking around his surroundings, Alan assumes that this level of the dungeon could be somewhat related to a jungle. He keeps his guard up.
'So, where's the boss dungeon? Is it—'
Just then, an unknown long large object shot out from the surface of the waters and it charged at Alan.
Swoosh!!
'Sh*t!'
In the blink of an eye, the large 'thing' had already arrived in front of his face. He raised his sword to help him block it but it was no use. Alan was soon smacked towards the wall.
"Clank!"
'Kkn!'
Alan clenched his teeth, braced by the impact, he breathed heavily. He lifted his gaze and noticed his steel sword had broken into pieces. Such monstrous strength came from a single strike?
'W-what the hell?!'
Thankfully he survived the impact however his weapon did not. The sword still had some life in it but to be shattered in seconds is terrifying. Now with his sword broken, Alan does not have any other weapon to use.
'My sword…!'
He'd succeeded in deviating the unknown object's attack, however, this means he needs to be cautious about what he's facing. Upset for his sword, Alan simply glared coldly at what was in front of him.
'Ruler of the swamp, Sharp-Fanged Green Crovar.'
Alan clearly sees the monster's name orange, however, given its power Alan didn't care about the color, what he was worried, was the toughness of the Crovar's skin. With its powerful jaw and tail, this was going to be a tough battle.
'This wasn't just an ordinary sword, to be shattered in pieces like that easily…'
Of course, Alan knew his sword wasn't an ordinary weapon. For a while, Alan has been able to sense strange energy coming from his weapon every time he swings it. No, ever since his perception increased he been able to since energy throughout the dungeon as well as the monster.
'Could it be mana…?'
If he wanted to confirm his theory he'd first needs to defeat this guy first.
Alan swallows his saliva nervously and observes the Boss called Crovar. Its appearance is that of a normal crocodile however, its size in length is much bigger. Maybe a sarcosuchus maybe? Crocodiles are relatives of sarcosuchus. But then again, this could just be a crocodile with only the size growth.
'It can't be a sarcosuchus, it's jaw is less thin than a crocodile's. Well it doesn't matter. Whether it's a crocodile or not. That thing is going down.'
Its scutes are incredibly durable around its entire body as if covered in thick armor. Strikes and punches seemed to not work for those scutes. This will be a difficult battle to end.
As Alan was still in his inner thoughts, the Crovar seemed to be impatient as it then charged itself full counter.
Its speed was fighting that's for sure, no matter how he looked at it, this thing was fast. Of course, that doesn't mean Alan would back down without a fight.
It swings its tail at Alan, obviously, he sees this and dodges the attack. His sense has increased as he predicted the Crovar's moves thanks to his perception. He grabs it however it soon slams its tail towards the walls dragging Alan from the third-level dungeon.
Slam!!
Boom!!
Boom!!
Crash!!
"Pwuhaa!!"
Blood spits out from Alan's mouth however he endured the pain and still kept a hold on the Crovar's tail. He clenched his teeth.
Boom, Boom, Boom!!
"Ackkk!!"
The Crovar then aims for its tail where Alan still clutches it. As the Crovar was only a few seconds from biting Alan in half, he immediately let go of its tail and landed on one of the trains floating through the waters of the third level.
'Now!'
Alan then jumps again towards the Crovar however it seems to be on his back. He then wrapped his arms around the creature's back and then tightened his grip.
Crack!!
It roared in pain. Alan is 40 in his strength so this should put some power in his grip, but it seems that the Crovar doesn't want to go down easily. Alan tightens his grip even more.
Crack!!
Slam!! Boom!!
Alan's body was slammed against the walls and on the waters as well, but he never released his arms.
'Come on, just die!'
Tti-ring.
[Skill: Overcome has leveled up.]
A message rang in Alan's head but he ignored it. Different kinds of things swirled in Alan's, he can't lose focus right now.
What would have happened if he hadn't leveled up enough on the last two floors? What would have happened?
If he didn't add his points to his strength…
He refused to let go and tightened his grip furthermore.
Boom!!
'Kknn…'
[Skill: Overcome has been activated.]
"Aarrgghh!!"
He refused to give up now. Alan won't fail. He's determined to become strong.
Of course, his choice was certainly not smart, his decision was deemed to be a smart one.
'Die…'
Crack!!
'Die…'
Crack!!
"DIE!"
…(0>0.23/100%)
Accompanied by the awful noise of the creature's body breaking, the Crovar gave in and cracked into pieces. Blood formed on Alan's hands.
[You have killed the ruler of the swamp, Sharp-Fanged Green Crovar.]
[Level up!]
[Level up!]
[Level up!]
Alan never expected from a boss to be this strong. Leveling up 3 levels is seriously worth it. He breathed heavily, tired from the endless battle.
To think he'd jump 3 levels higher, and in just a single day as well. This was extremely good!
'Although I did manage to defeat the boss. I wonder what loot the boss has dropped.'
That's right, the thing that Alan considers to be worth his life is the boss' loot!
Laying on the boss's back, he tirelessly got up and began to search for the rewards. Two spots of light were shining not just far away. He starts heading towards it leading to the Crovar head. Since its whole body was covered in scales, Alan needed to use his hands to open its skull.
'Two items, is the number of them based on the monster's quality? I might have to look into this furthermore when I have the time.'
Alan's expression though soon widened in glee as he reached out towards the spots of light.
Tti-ring.
[You have discovered 'Item: Double-Forged Flintlock Revolver'. Take it?]
[You have discovered 'Item: Rune Stone'. Take it?]
"Of course!"
As he said those words, a handgun and a stone appeared in both his hands.
[Item: Double-Forged Flintlock Revolver]

Status effect 'Paralysis': the target will be unable to move. Effects have been added.
Status effect 'Bleeding': the target will be inflicted by 25%/50%/100% based on your attack damage.
'...'
Alan stays silent for a while. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Effects lasting 30 or more depending on his own accord? With 5% of actually using it.
'Though the chances of actually inflicting 'Bleeding' are very low, the effects are still amazing. Well at least I have a weapon, now I can hunt down these monsters with any difficulty.'
The next item was the runestone.
[Item: Rune Stone]
Breaking this stone will grant you a skill.
Alan was delighted. To think he'd gain a skill for just killing a boss. The rewards are truly magnificent!
Sure having another skill is amazing but the description it gives was limited. There's a possibility this rune stone could give something even more bewildering. But that's just a possibility, there's no guarantee it'll be somehow good.
'Still, whether it could be a powerful skill or not, it doesn't matter as long as I can use it in battles.'
That was just Alan's perspective on how things are. As long as Alan uses his brain in these situations, he has no problem with it.
A message soon popped up.
[Because you have defeated the Boss, the dungeon will now go back to its original state.]
Suddenly, the subway station that had turned into a dungeon slowly turned back into its original subway station. The dirty waters cease to exist as if it wasn't even there while the trains vanished. The overhead lights changed from being completely worn out to be being modern. Everything has gone back to normal. No more beasts and as well no more bosses.
'....Where's everyone though?'
Back when Alan first entered the dungeon, he was certain that people were still present here, but now everything was completely empty. The trains were absent as well. Not a single person was available, except for the lights overhead that lit up the station.
He checked the time to see what time, Alan turned his head and saw a clock on the wall. The clock indicates past 10 PM.
"It's already this late, no way."
If Alan remembers correctly, he left during the afternoon, 1:00, so when he entered, 9 hours had already passed by.
'There's no way…'
Alan tilted his head in awe but decided it was best to leave already. He's already tired from fighting and wanted to rest.
While Alan headed towards the subway exit, it was just as he suspected, there was not a single person spotted in the station. As he climbed up the stairs to get to the surface, someone shouted at him.
"You there! Civilizations are not allowed to be at this place! Please evacuate quickly!"
Alan quickly raised his head and turned his head towards them. He saw a hero approaching with a weapon.
"Is there something happening currently?"
"Are you serious? How can you say that right now?"
As the individual approached closer to Alan, he checked his appearance. Ripped clothes, shoes worn out, and Alan's face was beaten.
The person's eyes squinted.
"Where did you come from?"
"From the subway station? Why is there a problem?"
Of course, the individual didn't believe Alan. Who would come out exactly at late 10 PM? There was only one thing that the person suspected, either a hero or a villain…
Or course, they couldn't confirm that, he doesn't have evidence to exactly back it up. Still, though, it's best for him to keep close on Alan.
"...Very well, come, we're leaving this place. This place is dangerous for us to be here."
