"Who, are you?" One of the students asked. A fight has just broken out between two students already, yet it hasn't even been a couple of minutes of any class teaching and here we find a grown ass man just sipping on a drink, watching the whole class cheer without overseeing the situation?
"You guys are no fun at all~ And yet here I thought I was going to experience something amazing!" The man got up from his position. He was lying on his side, his arm in a crook, head propped on his hand. While his legs are dangling not far from the ground, he shoots the cup into the trash can where it was stationed in the corner of the entrance. "Ooooh swish~~!"
The man gets off from the desk and stands fully positioned. Tall and perfectly fit. Standing at least average average, his straight black hair was spotless as it glinted from the light despite it being messy. His veiny hands indicate he's not a normal person regardless of covering them with long sleeves.
Dressed in a casual black outfit with dark black boots, his face was the most eye-catching. While he may be a bit weird, what covered his face was what brought some to question as to why is he wearing a black blindfold? Well, more importantly. Why all black.
Another student raised their hand as they called out a question towards him.
"What's with all the black? You emo or something?"
"Aw~, rude! Do I look emo much to you? Just because I wear all black doesn't convey to me an emotional person with dark complexes." He points at his head. "Besides, the hair is dyed! It'll wash up sooner or later. I think. The box did say it'll rinse off in a few days, but it's been two weeks already. Maybe I've used Monica's help…."
Although this person's attitude may be a bit humorous or maybe fully. Judging from his goofy behavior, some of the students weren't unsettled by him. In fact, several started to loosen a bit and become less tense of their guard.
He clapped his hands together and smiled. "Well it doesn't matter, all that aside, let's get this class started! I already had a bit of fun so let's get this session ready, all of you head into your seats please. We have an assembly later soon so I want to get some work done in class."
However, His response wasn't very professional for someone who's clearly a grown-up. Both students who had recently fought step away from each other. They had disgusted looks on their faces.
"Tch."
"Humph."
The two turned their backs from each other until one of them faced the adult with a serious expression. "I'm certain the least thing you could've done, was to at most stop us from fighting, wouldn't I be correct? Do most teachers in the academy have the same attitude as yourself? Also, shouldn't you be wearing more appropriate clothes if you're going to teach a class? I don't think the directors would have approved of someone like you. Such a disgrace for the academy the hero Aurora once attended." he adjusted his sleeves.
"Oh~! How can you say such things about me!? Does my face really fit your description of a bad teacher?! Ugh~ I'm so hurt! Please forgive this disgraceful teacher for being in your presence at this moment..." He sniffed while wiping fake tears from his face.
"..."
"Please, oh great one! If I may ask you, who might you be?" The goofball teacher bowed. His sarcastic attitude he gave off annoyed the student. He glared at him.
"Seems like you have no idea how I am. Judging by your 'scornful' approach." The student straightened his back, tucked his feet together. His voice was solemn, showing no signs of friendliness. "Second son of the Ethor family where my father, Eugene Ethor, is the guildmaster of the X-lavender. I am Alexander Ethor Bernard." Both tall and handsome while his blue shaded black hair reached his neck and eyes which covered a bit. His skin was pale, almost having white skin and leaving no signs of dirtiness on his face. His glasses are what made him more handsome while the girls fawn over him falling over their heels.
This brought many to think he was the perfect soft pretty nerdy boy. In reality, he was an intelligent and serious man who was dedicated to learning who showed no remorse to things that were not of interest. This was the essence of the Ethor Family.
"Shouldn't you introduce yourself as well? It'd be quite immodest if you don't introduce yourself, given that you requested my name."
"I sincerely apologize! Forgive this fool once again for its ungracious manners, your excellencies!"
"....You can stop with the dramatic act now. It's getting annoying."
The individual got himself in position, straightened his back and did a 45 degree bow towards Alexander. "I am Callum Brennan, your greatness! I'm single and I like to purchase Daifuku because it's a very tremendous snake. My favorite foods ar—"
"I said stop with the sardonic attitude. Haaaa, now I'm afraid what the teacher's we'll be once I meet them during the semester." Alexander lets out a downcast face while his eyes turn dull.
Brennan positioned himself once again before he opened his mouth.
"Aside from my existence," Brennan's tone shifted more solemnly. "the Ethor family. They're quite famous nowadays, especially your father. But maaan he is ruthless, that's for certain! But why would their son be attending here at Atlantis Ashur? Surely there must be a reason for your entry in this place."
Alexander narrowed his eyebrows. "Don't get me wrong. My only reason for attending here is because of the famous hero Aurora. I know my words may seem harsh but please don't accuse me of hating this place. It's a wonderful site indeed. However from all I heard, her performance during this academy, when it was once destroyed, served a great effort for the production of the school materials that not only include vastly enormous resources of studies and lecturing. But encompass legitimate training, fighting and survival tactics."
He tapped his fist on his chest. "My reason for taking a part of this school is to not only become one of the best heroes in the world, but to surpass Aurora herself!"
Some of the students clapped at Alexander's determination. They admired his commitment. Surpassing Aurora, humanity's number one savior who brought her brightest light in the dark of misfits of evils, was something everyone tried to accomplish. The students chattered among themselves while there were several who didn't even know the true value the academy seriously had. Truly amazing.
"If those things are the reason you are here at the moment in the academy. Shouldn't your family help you with all the lecuring, training, and studies? Maybe even get research on Aurora of how she became the best of the best! You're one part of the Barfort family for god's sake! They have limitless connections with other powerful families both power and wealth!"
"That is private data. I'm sorry but you are not obligated to know personal information." Alexander said in an expressionless voice.
There was utter silence for just a moment before an unpleasant feeling overcame the room. A powerful aura was soon filled.
"...Cough, cough…"
"Jesus… holy crap… I-I'm feeling dizzy…"
"Haaa… I think I'm going to throw up…"
"What the hell is this…?"
"..."
Tap.
However a single tap on the desk from the teacher's finger wiped out the irksome atmosphere. Everything was immediately wiped out from the repulsive ambience.
"I think that is enough for today. Besides that, I hope you can maybe learn a lesson from this, what I'm able to say."
"?"
Brennan crosses his arms.
"You have balls. I'll give you credit for that. However," Brennan stepped forward as he came face to face with Alexander. "there are even some things that you might not be able to accomplish that goal in mind when it isn't as simple as it'll be." A smile emerged on Brennan's face. Even though he had just a simple smile on his face with his eyes covered, there's no telling what kind of eye's Brennan is expressing.
However, something was giving off that that smile meant something. Something unusual.
Alexander glared once again before he took a deep breath. He calmly looked at Brennan. "And what do you mean by that sir?"
"You'll find out soon eventually. But right now, it's better for me to start out for class, hm?" He snaps his fingers. "Already kids, please go back to your seats everyone! I'll be starting off class with a simple warm up cause I mean d*mn like we already wasted a lot of time!"
Everyone did as he instructed as well as Alexander who had a concerned look on his face. "I'll take your word for it. Thank you sir." He bowed his head before he sat down like everyone else in the class.
Brennan let out a sigh. He then takes out a clipboard with a piece of paper already attached. "Alright then, I'll be taking role from here. If I call your name, raise your hand or shout whatever comes to mind. Alright?" He made a small o-kay sign. "Riley Harson."
The student named Riley raised their hand in the back row. "Here." His voice was wry.
"Excellent, next, Céline Von Belyea Courbet."
"Present." A soft angelic voice responded. She had long bright golden yellow hair that reached beyond her shoulders. Her eyes were as crystal clear as that of an ocean or lake or sky, with her face being flawless and pale. Just by her presence only, one word could describe her. Elegant.
"Uuooh~ another noble is in my class huh? Today must be my lucky day!" Brennan wrote something on the clipboard. The noble girl paid no mind to Brennan's attitude. She merely sat still in her seat with a dignified posture. Brennan let out a soft and small chuckle before he continued on calling out the names of his students. "Lyam Carter."
Another student raised their hand, however they didn't speak once their name was called. Could it be that he's nervous? Does he perhaps have social anxiety or muteness. Sure, these things could be a possibility. Nobody was perfect in this case. Whatever the causes may be, the teacher wasn't worried nevertheless. He still had a smile on.
"Charles Félix."
"Here."
"Calvin Cleer."
"Present…"
***
Time passes by for the class. The teacher, Brennan, who had finished taking role, placed his clipboard on the desk. "Everyone is here besides one student. I already received their absence from the principal himself so that student will possibly come by in class after the assembly or later in the academy.
He then picks up a sharpie and starts writing on the wipe board.
"I would like to start off with a simple question everybody has heard. What is a hero, hm? What are the specialties of becoming one? Throughout the years, people have always believed heroes existed. The past, the present, and the future. However," Brennan slides the wipe board with an extra, having contained more than just one. "once humans acquired the ability to not only manipulate the laws of physics, but to bend worldly rules and its regulations, this brought what I like to call it… Anarchy!" With a red sharpie, he circles the word. Besides that, he continued to write in singular words. "Murder, robbery, randsome, war, conflict between counties, conflict between differences, survival, self-identity, fear, and guidance. Even though these things are circumstances that are greatly inflicted to many individuals. While this is only the gist of it. The number of these experiences have risen dramatically since then."
Brennan taped the front board as he faced the students. "Among all these world-wide problems occurring in today's era, aside from them skyrocketing, villains are the if not the most category that has increased. As future heroes, what are some suggestions you kids would do in order for any less prevention?"
There was a short pause. The kids glanced at one another, waiting for one's response.
"There are no right or wrong answers. Please keep in mind that in this class. As much as some of you intend to get answers correctly in exchange for a teacher's praise if not frankly. I acknowledge that, however, do not stress yourselves with overwhelming pressure."
The class was shortly filled with mutters. As something that's completely obvious to answer, the students couldn't shout out a single answer. Frankly, some of the students soon grasped the courage and started to talk towards each other. Moments go by until students started raising their hands. Alexander was the first to do so.
"My suggestion is to exclude a squad of heroes that could keep civilians safe while in public."
"Not a bad idea, but there'll be some downsides. What else?" Brennan motioned his hand up and down, advising for more proposals. "Come on! Throw at me with more ideas!"
"Capture all villains around the world and secure them in an underground prison?"
"Good but not good enough!"
"Sign a truce with the villains to ensure peace and freedom?"
"A wonderful plan but many lunatics roam the earth who don't give a single faaacks~!"
"Kill those b*stards!"
"Quite blood thirsting aren't ya?"
"Torture them?"
"Such an inhuman tactic!!"
"Send them to a forbidden island?"
"Not bad, I like it!"
"Have them placed in Area 51?"
"A splendid idea as well! I love it!! Yes, all of these suggestions you kids have given me are good! Well except for the kill and torture part. However, those are not solutions!" Brennan faced the board quickly once again and wrote another topic on it. "In terms of both prison and punishment, these things aren't effective in today's period as natural abilities descended on earth."
Brennan glances at the clock. "Seems like my time is up. Alright, now class! We are having an assembly at any moment. So I want y'all kids to follow the other students on your way out! Good luck! ☆" He waved and winked at the students. Shortly, he disappeared without leaving a single trace.
Alexander was the first to act, getting out of his seat. "If I were you guys, I'd start walking towards the assembly already. That is if you guys don't want to get cramped from them." He points his thumb at the entrance while facing his classmates. The pathway outside the classroom was suddenly filled with many other students who were pushing and grabbing each other. It was a battlefield.
"Move it. Let me get through. Great, a bunch of c*nts are in the way. B*stards…." A stern voice was heard at the entrance. It hasn't been long since Brennan left the room yet someone was already by the exit of the classroom. In fact, he was the same kid who fought Alexander minutes ago. Gulliver Harbin, was his name.
"Watch your tongue boy. This is a school where fellow students like ourselves and many others get to enjoy the life time here in the academy. The teachers and directors placed their hearts in teaching this place. And here you are already starting to cause trouble? Such impertinence." Alexander adjusted his classes.
Unfortunately, Gulliver already had his foot out in the entrance and glanced at Alexander. "P*ss off." With that, he left.
"I swear once I get my hands on him, I'm gonna strangle him."
"Wouldn't that be harmful though? You could get yourself into some big trouble if you do that! Even if you're from the Ethor family."
Alexander turned his head around. His eyes then locked on a specific individual…
"You are?"
They scratched their head and gave an embarrassing smile. "I'm Chris Wilson! Sorry if I sound rude, it's my introducing myself to a noble like yourself. I may be a bit clumsy at some times but nice to you!" Chris smiles awkwardly. He extended his hand out.
A small awkwardness between the two overcame.
"M-maybe you're not very good with friendly terms like this, despite yourself being noble. My ap-"
"No, it's alright." Alexander takes Chris's hand. "Nice to meet you as well Chris Wilson. My name is Alexander Ehtor Bernard. A pleasure meeting you. Formalities like this usually quite often happen sometimes."
"I see… you seem like a nice person despite being a noble. Maybe the rumors of being a cold blooded person were false alarms!"
"..."
'Oh, I think I made him upset again…' The tense Alexander showed started to make Chris anxious. Given that it was his first time meeting a noble who's probably the same age as Chris himself. Furthermore, Chris was getting apprehensive while rethinking his life choices. How did things turn out this way?
'Holy Mary, if you're there please welcome me with open arms within your presence once I arrive in heaven.' It was only the first day in the academy and Chris had already neglected his fate in life. Perhaps in his next life, it'll somewhat be better than the life he's in.
While Chris had his eyes shut for a while, Alexander chuckled softly. "Sorry, most people normally wouldn't say positive things about me in conversations. Either they talk about my talents and achievements or praise me. I like your honesty."
Chris was surprised as he was taken aback by Alexander's response, who's not only rumored to be a cold-hearted person like his father but being merciless in person. In fact he might be the opposite of his father.
"Well, should we start going towards the assembly? The hallways are already getting scraped together, so it'd be better to just follow along!"
Alexander took a small glance before agreeing with the class following behind.
