After Gideon destroyed Ren, he followed Betty back to the elevator which took them up.
"We won't be going back to the reception but to the place where you will acquire you're guild card and then where you'll display the beast corpses you wish to sell." Betty explained. Although she was shocked, she had seen many astounding people in her work, so she quickly managed to regain her cool.
The elevator stopped and the doors opened, and the were then in a room that was packed with people. Most of them had armor and weapons and many groups could be seen. There was also a large holographic screen that displayed what looked like missions, what rank there were and their rewards. This was the main room were people would accept mission and sell what they had.
"This way." Betty signalled Gideon and expertly weaved her way through the crowd and headed in a certain direction.
Gideon followed closely behind her and he accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oh, sorry." He apologized on instinct and looked up.
"Oh yeah, no problem." A large man wearing blood red armor with a dragon symbol on his chest with a huge axe on his back.
Gideon saw the armor and felt a sense of familiarity. He searched his memory briefly before remembering.
'This guy should be from the crimson dragon guild.' He had a good impression of this guild despite its name. He remembered them because there was a time when there was a terrorist attack in the city. And while most of the private organisations ignored it as they assumed that the authorities would handle it, the members didn't even hesitate to mobilize and protect the civilians, even though they weren't obligated to.
"What are you spacing out for, let's go!" Gideon was snapped out of his thoughts when Betty suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him with her.
"Here." They stopped at what looked a stall with a middle aged looking man in it.
"Eric I need another adventurer card." Betty said flatly.
"Alright, what rank!" The man didn't seem to mind, her behavior and immediately complied.
"Silver." When Betty said this, Eric froze and looked at Gideon with wide eyes.
"For this young lad?" His voice clearly surprised.
"Obviously." Betty seemed to get impatient snapping Eric out of his stupor.
"Hmm, okay then." Eric quickly replied and went under the table in his stall. He brought out a silver card that seemed to shine on its own, and there was a symbol of the guild on one side.
"Here." Eric gave her and she quickly took it from his hand and left with Gideon.
Gideon raised a brow under his mask, but he didn't ask since it wasn't his business.
They then went to another stall but it was bigger than the bigger. The woman that was inside was named Mabel and was also surprised when she saw the silver card was for Gideon.
The woman led them into the stall and Gideon saw some large device with a sharp tip that looked like it was for inscribing.
"The card please." Mabel stretched her hand and Betty gave it to her.
She put the card under the sharp tip and went to the keyboard and typed a few things before the tip suddenly moved and started inscribing things into the card. Guild, rank, and alias were inscribed into its surface.
"What would you like to be called?" Mabel stepped away from the machine and asked.
Hearing this Gideon's hand went under his chin as he pondered. After giving it a thought, he replied.
"Poison Master." Hearing this, Mabel nodded slightly before typing in the name which was then inscribed into the card after the alias
"Alright, in case you decide to join a private guild, you can come back and have us inscribe its name on your card." Hearing this, Gideon nodded.
The adventurers guild was kind of like a public organisation. You could sell things to them like ordinary markets, but they would collect a certain percentage from what you earned.
Private guilds on the other hand were more conservative and had their own information gathering on missions and such. Not only that, but the private guilds weren't only dedicated to killing monsters, similar to the adventurers guild.
"Now for us to buy your beast corpses." Betty said as they left the stall and once again got on the elevator.
This time, they appeared in a large room that had numerous large tables and some of the tables were occupied with the bodies of beasts being taken apart. Every part of a beast had value. Their bodies could be used to make all sorts of equipment while their blood and other parts could be used for potions and medicines.
"Hey Lark, I've got someone who wants to sell some beast corpses." Betty asked a man who looked like he hadn't gotten much sleep as his eyes were bloodshot and he looked very untidy.
"Hm, oh you've brought me more prob- work to do." The man said causing Betty's mouth to twitch, he was going to say problems, wasn't he.
"Alright, show me what you've got." The man said lazily as he leaned back on his chair and faced Gideon.
Gideon nodded and waved his hand, and immediately, the big table was filled with about a dozen corpses of rare rank beasts. Just their aura alone despite being dead caused everyone in the room to shiver.
"No way, is that the corpse of a black steel winged feather, and that's a shadow panther. Where did you get all of these!" Lark practically shouted.
"I killed them." Gideon said with a shrug.
"This." Lark sucked in a cold breath. Just who is this kid?
Immediately however, Lark's gaze sharpened as he started to carefully analyze the corpses with a pair of gloves.
"All of these beasts were very healthy and they can be used to make all sorts of things, moreover, they're in excellent condition." Lark quickly gave an answer.
"So how much?" Gideon asked.
"With this many of them, and even with the percentage collection, I'd say about 10,000,000 credits." Hearing this, Gideon couldn't help but smile. What man didn't have any interest in money? Of course Gideon would be happy.
"Alright, we just need to scan your card and the money will be transferred to you." Hearing this, Gideon nodded and brought out his card. And when Lark saw the silver card, realization dawned on him.
'No wonder he was able to hunt these many beasts, he's actually a silver ranked adventurer.' Lark thought before quickly carrying the card from Gideon. He then brought out a black handheld device and he invited some numbers before pressing it against the card.
*BEEP*
"It's done." Lark confirmed before giving the card back to Gideon.
"Thank you." Gideon said politely.
"It's no problem, I'm just doing my job." Lark said meekly causing Betty who was by the side to be stunned. Wasn't this guy complaining about how I was bringing him problems?!
"Alright then, I guess we're done here." Betty said before looking at Gideon.
"Let me escort you back." She said before walking towards the elevator with him. But before they could reach it, the elevator doors suddenly opened and three people came out.
"Actually, we were wondering if we could talk to you for a moment." The man in front suddenly said causing Gideon to narrow his eyes. Even though there was no malicious intent, he felt that this guy was dangerous.
"Hello, my name is Vincent from the crimson dragon guild, pleasure to meet you."
