That night, it was Asher and Alicia that sat at the dining table to eat, normally it was always Asher as he was the master but he had asked Alicia to join him. Alicia felt ackward, if it was before she would have stood away from him and helped him clear the plates when she was done but now, she was sitting next to him. What made her more uncomfortable was because he was glancing at her every now and then.
"Is it so hard to be my friend?" he asked out of no where again and Alicia eyes snapped to look at him, 'You don't know' she said in her mind but in reality she offered him a gentle smile and shook her head.
"That's good then" he said as he continued eating his food. The rest of the dinner were ate in silence as none of them spoke to each other except for glancing.
When they were done eating, she wanted to leave for her room but he stopped her and told her that they should spend time on the roof, the roof again? mummured Alicia to herself, she couldn't believe this man, was he planning to kill her by himself there. She shook her head she she remembered they were friends now.
When they got to the balcony, Asher crouched down telling her to climb on him so he could give her a lift towards the roof as he wouldn't be using the ladder.
"What?! No please, I prefer to use this" she declined as she grabbed the ladder to set it right, but after placing her leg and seeing it shook, she smiled at him ackwardly.
"I thought you prefer the ladder?" he asked with his left brow raised, she shook her head at him... Asher crouched down again and Alicia stared at his back, not knowing how to climb him.
"Just lean your body" she heard him speak, if it was as easy as he had mentioned she would have done it without wasting time but this was Asher, how could she be doing this with the general who was supposed to be given respect, if it was someone else she would have felt comfortable but him, he gave an unsettling feeling. She leaned her body like he had said and he in turn lifted her like she was nothing, before Alicia knew it, she felt herself in the air. She enjoyed the breeze that was blowing her hair and what she wanted at that time was to remain in that position. Asher soon dropped her on the roof and they both sat down gazing at the sky .
"It's beautiful" Alicia mummured to herself as she gazed at the sky, she enjoyed watching the stars like this during her leisure time, the most beautiful was the moon and she loved gazing at it.
"I've never done something like this before" She heard Asher comment as he slowly thrashed and placed his arms on his nape before laying his back.
"So what prompted you to do it today?"
"Don't know, just felt like" He answered with his gaze fixed on one if the stars shining in the night sky.
"Are you happy looking at it?" She asked him and he nodded his head, Alicia stared at Asher's face under the moonlight, the man was just too attractive, no that was an understatement, he was too breathtaking for her eyes but it's kind of bad that he wasn't nice, gentle, caring and was cruel, if he was, she would have stolen the key to his heart by now.
"Don't stare too much, you might end up falling and once you do don't expect me to return my feelings because I don't waste my time on thrash like that" he said when he noticed that she was staring at him for a longer while and wasn't planning to stop. Alicia, darted her eyes away from him realizing that she was caught red-handed.
"You think love is thrash? it's a beautiful feeling" She said to him because he didn't know what it is to be in love, once he has fallen for someone will he realize what she meant.
"It's not beautiful at all, what happens when your feelings isn't returned but given to someone else, I can smell anger, jealousy, hatred, heartbroken, envy, fear"
"I know, so you aren't willing to fall in love so you wouldn't experience it?, you are a coward..." She said to him to see him glare at her but that was the truth, she said to herself, "Only courageous ones fall in love and you aren't courageous" She spoke again.
"What of you? have you fallen in love?" he asked her and she shook her head, Asher scoffed at her, "What makes you different from me?" He asked her as he turned his gaze back to the star he was watching.
"I haven't found the one for me that's why, once I do, I'll love so hard that it'll be difficult to let go, I'm just searching for that one prince charming that'll sweep me off my feet" she concluded with a smile on her face only to hear Asher scoff at her as if telling her to dream on that she'll never find the person but Alicia believes that she would.
There was silence again as they both didn't speak to each other as they gazed at the sky but Asher's eyes will land on her face to see her smiling and he couldn't deny that it was doing something to his mind and he wasn't happy about it.
"You are free from now on Alicia, you can stay here since you don't have anywhere to stay for now, you are free to roam about but you'll be back here before dusk" he said to her to see the smile on her lips widen. Alicia was happy that she had been free, she just couldn't wait to leave this mansion to see the world because for sometime now, she hadn't been in contact with people except for the ones in the mansion. She would love to explore the town because Alicia wasn't the type to sit somewhere, she preferred moving about.
"Let's go back shall we? it's late" He said as he stood up, Alicia nodded as she slowly stood up, she spread her arms apart to feel the breeze one last time but she didn't know that the wind at that time would be much and she lost her balance but she was lucky that Asher had saved her quickly. His arms was wrapped around her waist in a loving manner as he gazed at her eyes. Alicia cleared her throat so that Asher would let go of her since he seems lost while staring at her eyes, he helped her stand properly and he crouched again so he would carry her, Alicia leaned against him with her arms wrapped against his neck and she felt herself in the air again, she was overwhelmed with the feeling if euphoria before Asher decide to cut it short by dropping her softly on the ground.
"Thanks, I had a nice time" She said to him to see him nod and with that, she left him to go to her room.
Asher frowned his face at himself, he doesn't know what was going on with him but whatever it was, it needed to stop with immediate effect. He ran his fingers over his hair for his bang to spring back to his forehead, sighing frustratedly he turned around to leave.
