A P H I A
"What is going on here?" I instantly frowned when I heard his familiar voice. I turned my head to see Prince Kalmin walking towards us.
"Kalmin!" The two children shouted in unison. Wait, they know him?
"What are you two doing here?" Prince Kalmin asked the two kids.
"We were playing." The girl answered while smiling at him. Prince Kalmin looks at me curiously.
"How about you?" He asked. I stand up before answering him.
"Nothing," I said before turning my back on him to check the gerbera daisies that I revived the other day.
"She healed my knee." I heard the boy kid state. I sit in front of the gerbera daisies and examine their flowers and leaves. I smile at the thought that I helped these flowers to live again. The priestess's magic is amazing to the point that it sometimes scares me.
"Thank you for healing me." I was startled to hear the boy kid speak. I didn't notice that Prince Kalmin, the girl and boy kid, were already on my side. "I'm Eeshaan De Arcovia." My eyes widened in surprise when I heard his surname. I look at Prince Kalmin, and he just smirks at me. What kind of reaction was that?!
"Is he your brother?" I asked Prince Kalmin. Now that I am looking at them, they all have the same color of eyes and hair. The girl kid's facial features are almost the same as Eeshaan's.
"What do you think?" He asked back. What the hell. He answered me with a question.
So, if they are siblings, these kids are prince and princess.
I roll my eyes at him before looking at Eeshaan. "It's nice to meet you, Eeshaan. Please call me Aphia." I said while smiling at him. I pinch his right cheek, and he giggles. I look at the girl kid, and I find her holding Prince Kalmin's hand. It's obvious that she likes her brother. "May I know your name, beautiful lady?" I asked her.
She looks at Prince Kalmin first, asking for permission. Prince Kalmin nods at her while smiling. Wow. He seems very gentle in front of his sister. The girl kid looks at me again and smiles slightly. "I'm Esmeray De Arcovia." She answered.
"It's my pleasure to meet you, Esmeray. I'm Aphia." I said while smiling at her.
"They are twins," I stated, and the kids looked at me in surprise. "Why?" I asked.
"No one has ever noticed that they are twins except for our parents and some people who are taking care of them." Prince Kalmin explained.
I look at him in disbelief. "But they are so much alike," I commented. "I like their names too. Eeshaan means sun, and Esmeray means dark moon, am I correct?" I asked the two kids, and they both looked at me in surprise and amusement.
The twins nod at me while smiling. Esmeray has a stronger personality than his twin brother, while Eeshaan's personality resembles how the sun brightens your mood. He has this aura that will lift your mood upon seeing his face.
"You're beautiful." Eeshaan complimented me, and I couldn't help but blush.
"Thank you," I said while giggling.
"Don't let it to your head." Prince Kalmin said while looking at me in a straight face.
"What? Are you jealous?" I asked, teasing him. "Your brother is nothing like you. He knows how to appreciate beautiful faces." I smiled at him widely.
"Are you drunk?" He asked, and that widened my eyes in shock.
"Are you nuts?" I retorted before rolling my eyes at him.
"What?! How dare you—" He stopped when we heard the twins giggling. "What is funny?" He asked them.
"Both of you," Esmeray answered. "You have found your match, Kalmin." She added.
"What match!?" He exclaimed. For some reason, I hate what she said.
"It's only the priestess who can handle your temper," Eeshaan answered, and I looked at him in disbelief.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Prince Kalmin avoided his brother's teasing look at him. Wow. Did I see that correctly? Eeshaan is teasing his brother?
"We hate each other," I stated, and the twins smiled at me widely.
"Yeah. We really hate each other." Prince Kalmin supported me. It's the only thing we agreed about together. The twins laughed at us, and we did not have any idea why. They understand each other by just looking at each other. The powers of the twins' connection are amazing.
The twins invited me to have dinner with them. I refused at first, but they insisted. They even pulled me inside the castle, and we all four had dinner.
I learned that the twins barely go outside because of their studies and training as prince and princess. They are just seven years old, but their responsibility for the kingdom is huge. It's also the reason why they don't have friends. "I can go and play with you two," I announced.
"Really?!" Eeshaan exclaimed excitedly, and I nodded.
"Yes. I think it would be fun." I stated.
"You have the training, priestess." Prince Kalmin reminded me. He is drinking his hot tea while listening to our conversation.
"I will play with them whenever I'm free, your highness," I said before tucking my tongue out, and the twins chuckled.
"What are you, a kid?!" He asked in annoyance.
"You can't be serious all the time. You will get old faster. How old are you?"
"Twenty-three." He answered. He's three years older than me.
"You're old," I said, and the three of us, except Prince Kalmin, laughed.
We instantly stop laughing midway after we sense something cold enveloping our bodies. We slowly look at our bodies, and I get shocked to see crystal ice hugging my body. Ice?! Where did it come from!?
"Kalmin! Stop it!" Esmeray shouted at Prince Kalmin, and I looked at him. He looks mad.
He did this?! His elemental attribute is ice?!
"It's cold!" Eeshaan complained.
"Are you crazy!?" I exclaimed. I tried to move but to no avail. This kind of ice is hard and pure. It's impossible to break into my situation.
"Am I old?" Prince Kalmin asked, and I smiled at him.
"What? No! You are young." I answered.
"Way too young," Esmeray said.
"Very young, Kalmin. You are very young." Eeshaan said, almost lying.
Damn you, Kalmin. You got mad because of your age?! Asshole!
"Get rid of this, for Pete's sake!" I shouted while shivering. I am weak when it comes to cold temperatures or weather. I hate it even more now that Prince Kalmin's elemental attribute is ice.
He snaps his finger, and the ice wrapping us up suddenly shattered into pieces. "What are your other elemental attributes?" I asked him while caressing my arms.
He smirks. "Ice, water, and wind." Woah! He got three!
"I have light!" Eeshaan shouted.
"I've got darkness!" Esmeray yelled while raising her hand. I looked at the twins in confusion.
Light and darkness?! What the hell?
"W-What are they talking about?" I asked Prince Kalmin.
"Erskine did not tell you about the rarest magical attributes?" He asked, and I shook my head as an answer.
Rarest magical attribute?!
