Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Crush #2 until I hate him too

How heartily he laughed!

How his eyes turned to crescent moons when he did so!

And my!...how he shuddered and rocked his massive chest when he did so!

How he had to cover his face and take a breath to stop himself from laughing and broke into a chuckle and then started laughing all over again! He was so freaking cute that I was losing my mind and gawking like an idiot on the inside!

I had heard him laugh before- he was talking to two of my co-workers. He and his friend (the friend is also my crush- Crush #1) had come over to our office to talk to Gary. I...while pretending to be fully focused on my laptop, heard their conversation and enjoyed it. Although I had successfully suppressed my laughter, I still had to cover my face as I couldn't stop smiling. At that moment, I made a mental note to talk to him someday and went home.

A month passed.

This was the last day before we go on a Christmas break, and no one was gonna be in the office. I didn't know him enough to know whether he will be there or not. But then again I wanted to go somewhere and I didn't have anywhere else to go other than...the office.

"Why not?" you say?

...I'll tell you more about that later.

Now let's focus on the giraffe in the room. Jack, with his six foot four of a figure, dark hair and darker eyebrows, a slightly crooked nose, and white straight teeth(can't remember his lips tho) were...rocking my world!

....with his laughter! ( just laugher - okay?)

Have I ever seen a joyful creature as he?

NO.

I went to work today hoping to talk to him since it was unlikely that anyone from the office was gonna be there as it was a break. But now that I did, and was able to get him to laugh like that, it feels like a dream!

But my! He is a piece of art.

How long his legs are! how perfect his brows, how bright his smile!

He doesn't have a single perfect feature on his face...but all that he has is complementary.

And, to think...I alone had his company...for an hour and a half!

Mission Successful.

I can now go on this holiday break in peace, with this sweet memory. That was only our first talk- Hopefully not the last.

I have been bold today. I...have walked into his office, and asked about a part-time job that our bosses recommended we took the following year. He told me everyone in their office was doing that part-time job as well.

Then I knew not how, we took off in an awesome convo and went on going at it for 90 minutes straight.

Did you hear me?! 90 minutes! That's like one football game worth of wordplay there! It is way beyond the stress my introvert-ness can handle...but somehow...that had happened!

I can not believe that I spoke with in that hour stuff I had never said in the 80 days I have been here at my new job.

Yes, I'm a newbie.

He's 2 years my senior...and very very tall.

I am glad he was sitting when we had that convo.

I am now sitting in a bus on my way home smiling like an idiot at the memories replaying in my mind.

I remember that in the middle of our chit chat my phone had beeped with a message, and he said he didn't mind if I replied, and I went on telling him that I shouldn't reply fast as it might look that am over interested in the person and he laughed and said he replies late to a girl he is dating as well. I didn't mind hearing that he had a girlfriend. It would have been weird for such a beautiful man if he hadn't a girlfriend. That...became our first secret. The stuff we never said to anyone else.

We managed to tell each other our lives stories, and he lured out of me my plans of endlessly roaming around the world and I of his happy content life in the place he was born.

We found ourselves to be total opposites but that only fueled the convo more. He asked of my adventures in the world, for I have been to places he never thought about before. I asked about his country and all the culture I am yet to get used to as I just moved there.

He kept asking questions and I answered them while stopping mid-sentence every once in a while and wondering why I was answering all the questions and him convincing me to answer them for the gazillionth time.

I think I made a friend today.

Weird as it may seem.

I might have also started a romantic story.

But my experience tells me that what started cute will not end cute. I have a bad habit of crushing on people and then dismissing them just as quickly.

My heart is made of Ice.

My head is in control.

Solitude is my comfort zone.

Jack and I will go home tonight and forget our little moment in an empty office just before Christmas. We will return to the office 3 weeks later...and we will be strangers again.

At least that's what had happened with my crushes so far.

I have run away from people I liked all my life.

Would turning 24 make me do otherwise?

I don't think so.

But.. then again...no one ever knows!
