The two guys immediately let go of Rose. One of them finally found his tongue, puckered up his confidence and said, "This way Miss"
He lead them to an office that was on the top floor. The guy was the one who's hands almost got broken by Damien. Though he tried to be confident but in his mind he was all like,
'It hurts ಥ‿ಥ'
Rose followed the guards calmly as she was well aware that she did nothing bad... she was only curious as to why she was being escorted.
Her two guards were not with her as she already told them to go prepare the car.
The guards escorted them to the top floor of the hospital, when he got to the door leading to an office, he knocked gently.
Until a voice was heard, "Come on in"
The Guard respectfully bowed as he invited the two of them in.
On entering, Rose looked around and silently admired the interior, she muttered, 'What a nice taste'
"Sir, they are the ones"
The guard politely said to the man who sat behind the desk. Rose and Damien couldn't see his face as he had his chair backing them.
"Thank you, you may leave" The guy then turned his chair.
Rose looked at him and one this came to her mind, 'Is this person really a guy or a lady? If I haven't heard his voice, I would have took him for a lady'
Beautiful... too beautiful...
Damien on the other hand just looked at him with disgust,
'I don't like this guy' Damien thought,but what he really didn't like was the way he looked at Rose at first.
"Please" The guy said as he pointed to the chairs.
"Have you seat..."
Damien pulled out the chair for Rose, before he finally took his seat.
"Thank you"
"Hmm" Damien nodded.
"So yes. I'm sure you might be wondering why you are here"
The guy looked at them and then introduced himself, "I am Coram Sherman"
He said as he raised his hand in awe of himself.
"And yes, I am the CEO of this hospital and others like it"
"Why?" Coram looked at Damien and wondered what he meant by that.
"What my boyfriend mean to say is that why are we here?"
Coram stared at Rose who was serving as an interpreter and was amused.
"Oh right, I was getting to that. I heard you have something of mine in that bag of yours."
"Something of yours?" Rose inquired.
Coram stood up and said, "Yes, actually my team has been working on discovering a cure for a particular disease. We recently had a success and finally achieved a breakthrough!"
"And?" Damien interrupted, he still had to take Rose for a meal.
"He means that you should be quick with whatever you are saying" Rise again interpretated.
Coram chuckled and said, "Patience"
"Early this morning, we had a situation. And I was informed that this cure was missing. I have fired all that were responsible."
"But still, the cure was yet to be found. Then we looked through the CCTV and..." Coram turned his system to face them... Rose gasped when she saw what was on the screen, whole there was a change in Damien's straight face.
"Oh... it's this boy" Rose said
"Oh, so you are familiar with him"
"I won't say familiar but he bumped into me while we were on the third floor"
"Oh really?" Coram looked so amused as if this was all a game to him.
"Yeah"
"But now my security sensors are telling me that my cure is in Miss' bag" Coram said as he smiled to Rose.
"My girlfriend couldn't possibly be the one as she been accompanying all day. So it must have been the boy who must have slipped it in her bag when he bumped into us" Damien hurriedly explained. He didn't want a blemish on Rose's name.
Rose started looking through her bag as soon as Coram finished talking.
"Wow, I didn't expect you would speak so much words in a minute. I like men that are manly and stand up for their babes" Coram winked at Damien.
Rose happened to look up and catch that wink, her mind started running,
'My man is so handsome that he's even attracting both the boys and the girls. What am I going to do with him? Should I tell him to wear mask anytime he's going out?'
Rose continued thinking and searching her bag at the same time... suddenly she paused. She looked at Coram and brought out a wrapped vial.
"Is this it?" Rose asked.
Coram pressed the office intercom and said,
"My Office"
Seconds later, a beautiful lady came in the office. As she set eyes on Rose, her face showed a bit of surprise but then she adjusted it almost immediately.
Only Damien observed this minute change in her expression, he fell into deep thoughts as he looked at her, 'Does she know Rose?'
"Say hello, this is my secretary/assistant, Susan. She's here to check the product"
Susan adjusted her glasses and bowed in greetings, while Damien and Rose reciprocated her greetings.
Susan too hold of the vial and unwrapped it. She then opened it and took a sniff. She looked at Coram and shaked her head.
Coram sighed.
"What happened?" Rose asked.
"Is it not the correct one?"
"It seems like that little kid is a lot smarter than I thought. Not only did he acquire the drug, he even misled me... Same bottle, different content hehe" Coram laughed.
"I'm getting interested in the kid though"
"Can we go now?" Damien said, obviously not caring about what's going on.
"Haha... Sorry handsome guy, don't mind my manners. Of course, you may leave" Coram said.
Rose's mind tingled in warning.
She immediately stood up and held Damien up, and started walking towards the door.
"Oh, one more thing" Coram said.
Rose and Damien paused and turned back to look at Coram.
"I'll need your help with something. im sure that kid will contact you, Miss, one way or the other. No, he might even appear in front of you."
"How are you so sure?" Rose asked.
"I'm sure he'll see you come out of her without been harmed. Then he'll ask for your help. All you have to do is just to send him to us. I'll appreciate if you can help us."
"Ok" Rose said
"Thank you, bye handsome guy" Coram said.
When Rose heard this, she hurried out of his office, leaving a clearly amused Coram.
"What an interesting set of people. Or won't you agree, Susan?" Coram turned to look at his secretary, as he took a zip out of his drink.
"Boss, actually, she's your financeé"
Coram choked on his drink hard and had a fit of cough... Susan handed him an handkerchief silently.
"Susan, you don't just throw out news like that" Coram said to her after getting himself"
"So she's the one my old man been going on and on about... haha" Coram laughed.
"Interestingly though, she seem not to know and even got herself a pretty boyfriend"
"It's a pity that I'm gay though, if not I'll definitely be interested in her... But that doesn't mean I can't use her to entertain myself. It will be fun observing her and her pretty boyfriend. Who knows, I might even get to know him one on one" Coram smiled.
Susan give him a look and ignored him.
"Your Father asked you to be present for dinner tonight" Susan informed Coram.
"What does that old man want this time? You can drop the whole formal thing since it's just me and you now"
Susan straight up shoulders relaxed a bit as she took her seat comfortably inside his office, she knows no one would dare come in without prior notice.
"So are you going to go?"
"Of course I will, let's go see how my dear Father, my lovely stepmom and my dear stepbrother is doing... hehe"
"Do you need me to drive you there?" Coram looked at Susan, he knows she must be worried that he'll be hurt again. He and Susan were childhood friends, they've been close friends. They even built their own Company together and when he was asked to take over his Father's Hospital. She followed him here to be his Secretary, even though she still manages the other company at the same time.
"There's no need to accompany me there. You go rest. You need it more than I do" Coram told her.
"Ok. I'll be leaving now" Susan said as she took her leave.
As soon as the door closed, Coram thought out loud,
"What does this old man want again? He's probably gonna nag me to death eh"

"I don't like that guy" Damien said to Rose.
"Really?"
"Then we won't see him again,ok?" Rose said as she held Damien's hand.
Damien looked down at their intertwined hands and nodded.
"Let's go grab a bite then. I'm starving"
This made Damien dislike Coram even more... 'Its all his fault that my Rose is hungry'
"Okay"
"The driver would have been waiting for long. Why don't we also get them a takeaway?"
"Whatever you want" Damien said as he flashed her a smile.
*Baddadump*
Rose looked down immediately, patted her chest and thought, 'You little heart, what's wrong with you... always reacting at every single thing. What you never seen a fine man smile before.'
"That's the car" Damien said, as Rose looked up.
"Yeah" she replied to him as they both walked towards it.
