(A Few Days Later)
"Are you ready for the exam Aki?" asked my mother as we were standing just in front of the large building where the written exam was about to take place.
"Yes mom," I said with a confident smile as my mother chuckled while my father patted my back with an encouraging smile.
"Well go on now, we don't want to keep you waiting," my father said as I nodded and entered the door, and just like last time, I was greeted by the site of tons of students sitting around with their digital test papers place in front of them.
Shit, my memories are already a bit blurry at this time, I don't know if anyone here is the looper, and I instantly got accepted last time so I only stayed here for a short period of time, sigh.
As I took my seat and started my timer, I rapidly took the test and timed it so that it was near the time it took me just like last time and after a while, I went to the next room to take the next test.
"Hello, student Tanaka Akihiko right?" asked the lady as I nodded in response.
We then walked towards my training dummy full of cuts and bruises along with severed limbs.
"The next test is simple, you just need to show me your healing capabilities on that test dummy over there on that test dummy over there," said the lady as I nodded, and with a nonchalant face, I went to stand beside the dummy and healed it with sweat pouring down my face as the other students around the place full of dummies looked at me in shock.
"Congratulations student Tanaka Akihiko! Welcome to Hope Academy" said the examiner as she looked at me with a sparkle in her eyes.
"T- thank you miss," I said with an exhilarated smile as I wiped off the sweat from my forehead as she put on Gtech Glasses to sign me into Hope Academy.
"You can go back now, take care of yourself, we don't want to lose a valuable healer like yourself, it would be a tragedy to humanity," said the examiner as I nodded while glancing around but I still don't know if any one of them is the looper from the sheer amount of people there are.
Sigh, the looper would probably restart the day like last time if he failed from getting accepted if the looper does enroll here, with a shake of my head, I walked out of the building and did the same things as last time.
I greeted them, they asked questions, I answered with some similar answers but not the exact ones, and we got in our car and ordered some ice cream and finally got home when it was already noon.
"I'm going to cook a feast, today boys, prepare for a grand meal in a few hours," said my mother as we cheered and went back to my room and sat down on my chair with a deep contemplative look.
"Come out, I have a task for you" I muttered as a shadowy wisp appeared beside me that seems to be a person made out of shadows.
"Look around the Hope Academy and see if there are any suspicious people over there," I said as the shadow nodded and disappeared from view while I took my Gtech Glasses and put them on.
"Progress on buying the company?" I muttered as I called a certain somebody through my glasses.
"It's almost finished boss, with this, we'll break through the 100 million mark in a few days, with this, we should be able to proceed with more of your plans," said a sultry female voice as I nodded.
"Good, just remember to proceed with caution," I said with a nonchalant face.
"Yes, boss," said the voice with a serious tone as I ended the call and plop down on my bed with a blank stare.
"If rifts are going to be the next big thing, then monsters would be a thing with value, so I should start investing in making my own hunter association and perhaps team up with Hope Academy to make a group of talented hunters under my command" I muttered with a blank stare towards the ceiling as most of my plans are going smoothly with the number of talented people currently under my control but the search for the looper has been going very terrible, more than a week has passed by with the sudden loops here and there but I used those to my advantage to make a fortune with future knowledge.
"Sigh, let's just take a nap, I need to rest my mind for optimal results" I muttered and closed my eyes and in just a few seconds, I got into a nice sweet nap.
(A Few Hours Later)
"AKI! SHIRO! It's time to eat!" shouted my mother downstairs as I woke up from my light nap and rubbed my eyes with a yawn.
"Coming!" I shouted as I went downstairs along with Shiro and we were greeted with a table full of food as a big feast for dinner is awaiting us.
"Ooooh, fried chicken!" said Shiro as he hurriedly took his seat and grabbed some fried chicken for himself.
"Hey, leave some for your brother," said my father as he also grabbed some chicken while I took my seat.
As I sat down and put down some food on my plate, we started to talk to each other about some normal stuff.
"So Aki, it seems like you took a big wide nap today," said my mother as she went to take out some drinks.
"Yeah, I felt tired today from the exam," I said with a yawn as my father smiled.
"Good good, it shows that you did your all today," said my father as he ate some of his food.
"Yeah, but when I was doing the test, it was like… like… something was about to happen," I said while scratching my head in confusion.
"Oh, what is it? Can you explain it to us?" asked my mother.
"It was like, argh, I'll try to do it again," I said while I stretched my hands outwards as I grinned inside my mind.
"Hmm?" said my family in curiosity as they saw my hands glow and slowly watch the light get longer and longer, and in a split second, it shot towards my father as my family looked at him with shocked eyes.
"W- what!?" I said in shock as my family saw my father's muscles bulging out.
"W- what do you feel dear?" asked my mother as she looked at my father in worry.
"I- I feel great!" said my father as he looked around the room and went towards a spare chair and lifted it up with one hand.
"Woah!" Shiro said from the side as he looked at my father with sparkling eyes.
"I- isn't that Shiro's Gift?" said my mother in confusion.
"Huh?" I said as the light started to gather in the palm of my hands while they looked at that display of light with bulged eyes.
"Don't tell me, you also have the same kind of Gift as Shiro's!" said my father as a ball of light appeared in his hands.
"WHAT!?" said Shiro as he looked at me with a sparkle in his eyes.
"Do it again! Do it again!" said Shiro as I nodded and summoned a ball of light and showed it to him.
"Woah! We have the same Gift nii-chan!" said Shiro as he also summoned a ball of light in the palm of his hands.
"Try healing me with it Aki," said my mother as she pricked a small wound on her finger, I nodded at her request and shot the light ball towards her as we saw the wound rapidly heal that it was visible to the naked eye.
"GASP! You do have the same Gift as Shiro!" said my mother as she looked at the wound in shock.
"Wow!" said Shiro as he looks at the healed wound with curious eyes.
"But how did you suddenly activate this part of your Gift?" said my father in confusion as he sat down on the chair as the effects of my Gift has already receded.
"I- I don't know? I just felt weird when I healed the dummy from before and it felt like I could do something much more" I said with a confused face.
"Well that doesn't matter, my son actually has a different Gift than what we previously know! We should be celebrating right now!" said my father as he gave each of us more food, we chuckled at my father's antics and happily ate our food while we explored my Gift further and even did some goofy stunts like making me and Shiro have two cats made out of light play with each other in the middle of the table but it was ethereal so it doesn't affect the physical objects near it.
After a while, we finished our meal and my father went to wash the dishes for today with a happy smile as we got to learn I actually have a Gift far more powerful than before, I then walked back to my room with a slight grin on my face.
"With my presumed Gift now being the same as Shiro, it would allow me to do much more than I would have been previously able to stuck with healing as my Gift for a few years, but with this, I could now directly become more of a fighter instead of waiting for a few years to reveal this part of my powers," I said as I put on my Gtech Glasses and relaxed a bit by watching some Metube videos.
If not for the looper sending me back in time, I would have stayed as a support, but because of them, I'm now changing my previous decisions to fuck up their meta knowledge, if I don't know the future, so will they, I thought with a massive grin on my face as the world started to change between two different people who have traveled back in time as the destiny of the world is now rapidly changing from the actions of certain individuals, it will either lead down to a better or worse path, but only time will tell as time is such a fickle concept.
