(The Next Day)
As I stood in front of the door to my room, I recalled my Agency's findings on the system and the peculiar patterns they found.
Only a small percentage of humanity has the system and successfully become "Hunters", and most of them either have Epic rank Gifts, a professional hero or villain, talented, part of prestigious organization/schools, and more similar stuff that points us that the source of the system is actively giving it to those who are either great in combat or those who have potential to be powerful.
So the source of the system is against the rifts and they have a limited supply of the system but it seems like the number of hunters is getting larger by day, and weirdly enough, everyone inside my Agency got the system and that scares me because it probably knows of my existence.
Either I am its enemy or ally, but then if the system goes back in time with me, it must also be the source of the loop.
But nothing has happened to me yet so it must only have a weak influence on whatever it could control so I need to get stronger, no, I need to become one of the strongest beings in this world before that being could influence me in many ways.
As I entered the room, I saw that only Zoran and Jong-ga were there talking to each other while I sat down on my seat and greeted them with a "Good morning."
"So, the Hunter Agency just announced their new requirements for joining the agency, you need to have the system," said Zoran while showing us his phone that shows the article for the Hunter Agency.
"It has been really wild since yesterday, we suddenly have systems, rifts, now a Hunter Agency which appeared out of nowhere, what's next, we all become Hunters?" said Zoran with a chuckle as Jong-ga's legs were trembling for a bit.
"Y- yeah, but don't you guys think it's weird that they have trained men that are all around Spes?" said Jong-ga with a slightly strange voice.
"Not really, from what I found, they are under Blessed Inc which is skyrocketing in power for the past month. And from the leaks, it seems like they were called Hunter Agency because well… they are hunters, the thing they are hunting is unknown but from what I found… it seems to be… villains!" shouted Zoran in the end to scare us a bit but we just looked at him with a blank stare.
"Do you guys think we will join with the Hunter Agency? What do you guys think will happen to our education? Are we going to fight monsters from then on? Are we going to earn money!" said Zoran as Jong-ga's brows furrowed.
"Probably, but it's up to the Hunter Agency if they want us to join because we are still children, in the end, superpowered children with powerful Gifts, but still children," I said while yawning.
"Well, what do you guys think about the crystal the guy held in his hands last night? Don't you guys think it's something special?" asked Zoran as Jong-ga's seemed to know about what that crystal is from his widened eyes.
"Maybe a source of energy? We are currently in the nuclear stage and there were plans to start developing toward the sun and harness its energy. But they said it has more potential, maybe not as a source of energy but maybe for something else? Maybe magic!?" I said with a playful grin as we both theorized on what the crystal could be, but from my findings, it is a source of energy but it's like a weird source of energy, and we dubbed it a magic crystal and connected it towards the energy stat.
It seems to be a crystalline structure made from the combination of mana/energy and the process of some biological evolution of the monsters that came from the portal, and it shocked us with the effects we could do with it.
It was in the literal sense, a tool or material to control mana and produce magical effects and we are already making magical tools, weapons, armors, and so on.
But it was just the tip of the iceberg for us, it seems to be the way for us to learn to harness this new energy that seems to power our skills and Gifts but this confused me because how is mana connected to the soul?
But with the crystal, we will be able to shoot to the stratosphere in the development of humanity, and not only that, it seems like mana is starting to spread all around the earth as new fauna and flora are appearing all around the world, new plants, mutated animals and more.
Just the possibilities are making my heart pound faster as it may change the world as we know it today with the appearance of rifts.
But as we were both talking to each other, we noticed Sora walking through the door as he waved hello towards us.
"Good morning!" said Sora as he sat down on his chair.
"Good morning!" we both said.
"Good morning," said Jong-ga with his mind being elsewhere.
"Oh, is there something in your mind Jong-ga?" asked Sora while taking out his phone from his pockets.
"Sigh, it's nothing," said Jong-ga as he shook his head and put on a smile.
"If you say so. But what do you guys think will happen with heroes? Won't the main enemy now will be the rifts and monsters?" asked Sora while he showed us an article on his phone that talks about the possible future from now on.
"It would probably be like that, monsters will attack both heroes or villains, and many things in our world would probably radically change starting now," I said while shrugging my shoulders.
"What is the source of the system and rifts anyways?" asked Zoran.
"Who knows, they just appeared out of nowhere, maybe it's New World actually being a real world, and it's now fusing with our world," I said with a smile as both of them chuckled at what I said.
"Oh, it's almost time for class," said Sora as we looked at the time and waited for the teacher to appear while I grinned inside my mind at how many monsters we have right now as test subjects and we all got them for free by us hunting them in the first place.
"So, do you guys think a rift will appear inside campus again?" asked Jong-ga as he finally spoke up.
"The campus is as big as a city, it would be inevitable," I said as we look outside the window to see the still destroyed grass but it would get fixed soon.
"Oh yeah, did you guys get any skill books yesterday?" asked Zoran.
"Nope," said Sora.
"Nah," I said.
"No," said Jong-ga.
"… The Hunter Agency took all the corpses, so they took all the Skill Books!" said Zoran with wide eyes and an agape mouth as if he just discovered a conspiracy theory.
"Well they hunted more monsters than us so a few hundred corpses wouldn't change much," I said with a roll of my eyes.
"Yeah, the drop rate for a skill book is probably very low so maybe we didn't even get a skill book in the first place," said Sora with a shrug.
"Hey Jong-ga, do you think they stole our skill books?" asked Zoran with a raised eyebrow.
"Eh, they killed more monsters than us so they probably deserve it," said Jong-ga as Zoran slumped down with a grief-stricken face.
"B-" as Zoran was speaking, he was suddenly cut off by a loud *thud* from the opening door as a certain person walk through it with the whole class quieting down in response.
With short black hair, brown eyes that were behind a pair of glasses, wearing a normal school uniform, he appears to be a very professional teacher.
"Hello students, we haven't met yesterday due to the sudden events but let me introduce myself, I am your homeroom teacher mister Nakagawa Satoshi," said Satoshi while he writes down his name on the board behind him.
"Good morning mister Nakagawa!" shouted the whole class as Satoshi nodded.
"I presume that all of you already met each other yesterday right?" asked Satoshi as the whole class said yes.
"Good, then we don't have to waste time on introducing ourselves to each other. So good news and bad news, which one do you guys want to hear first?" asked Satoshi as he dons on a smile.
"Uhhh, sir, we want to hear the bad news first," said a student from the back as Satoshi nodded to the student's request.
"Mmm, bad news, or good news depending on what you think of it, we are going to join the Hunter Agency. Our principal has accepted the proposal and the Hunter Agency also accepted the invitation. But many of you can back out now, only those who are willing get to join" said Satoshi as the whole class starts to let out murmurs here and there.
"But, due to the sudden change in our Academy's goals, we are going to have no classes for the rest of the week so we can accommodate the new curriculums that the Hunter Agency is going to provide us," said Satoshi as everyone's eyes lit up.
"So, you guys can go home now! Just remember to sign the form I am going to send in our group chat later and get your parent's permission if you want to still stay at Hope Academy, and don't worry about changing schools, we will assist you in transferring to another academy if you want to" said Satoshi as he walks out of the class with a casual demeanor while the whole class explodes in excitement.
"NO CLASSES!" shouted the whole class as they all fucking high-fived each other, some went into a tight hug, and some even burst into tears of joy.
And with that, they hurriedly packed up their bags and as they headed out of the classroom, they were greeted by tons of students rapidly rushing towards the stairs with big wide smiles as the lack of classes really does make one go into a burst of joy that couldn't be comprehended by those who didn't go to school.
