Chapter 37 - Ch 36 – A Day at School

"Good morning!" I said while sitting down on my seat as the other three were already there in their seats talking to each other.

"Good morning" responded the other three while I take out my phone from my pocket.

"So what have you guys been doing with the week-long vacation?" I asked while looking at my phone with a bored face.

"Not much" responded Zoran while he lets out a yawn from his mouth as his eyes got watery.

"I did some training," said Sora as he rubs his eyes with bags under them that show he was exhausted from whatever he did in the break.

"I did the same as Sora," said Jong-ga while rubbing his hair as I let out a chuckle.

"You guys are exhausted huh, kids like you guys should get plenty of sleep to grow big and strong," I said with a smile as they snorted at what I said.

"You're also a kid Aki," said Zoran as we went to talk about random topics to pass the time.

(A Few Minutes Later)

As we talked with each other, we faintly felt our senses tingling as if we premonition something was about to come so the whole class instantly stopped what they were doing and looks at the door with bated breaths.

"Good morning class!" said mister Nakagawa as the door opened with a boom with his figure entering through the door.

"Good morning sir Nakagawa!" shouted the whole class as Nakagawa nodded and went to sit down at the table in front of the whole class while taking a quick glance all around the room with sharp eyes.

"It seems like everyone is here, that's good! What else could you expect from the best students in the world" said Nakagawa as the board behind him turned on as it is actually a monitor this whole time.

"So class, we are going to start our new curriculum from now on. Our first lesson, what are rifts?" said Nakagawa as we started a very interesting lecture about this new phenomenon called rifts that appeared all around the world and terrorized countless innocent lives.

(A Few Hours Later)

"And that's it, that's what we have found about rifts right now and in the future, it would be our jobs to understand those rifts along with the Hunter Agency and learn their weaknesses," said Nakagawa as the whole class nodded at the sheer gravity of this new threat called rifts.

"Well have fun with lunch kids, you guys already know the rules of this campus right? Have fun with your free allowance, remember to be careful on using them" said Nakagawa as the whole class nodded.

With that, Nakagawa walks out of the room while the whole class became rowdy as they talked about their previous lesson and how cool it was.

"When do you guys think we will be able to enter those rifts?" asked Zoran as we got out from our seats preparing to get some lunch to eat.

"Probably ones the Hunter Agency is sure enough about our safety, they only did join us after a while," said Jong-ga as we got out of the room and headed downstairs.

"Do you guys think we would be able to forcefully close those rifts if someone has control over space?" asked Sora as we got out of the building.

"Probably, but space-related powers are super rare and most of them are not that versatile, being only limited to teleportation and such," responded Jong-ga as we look at the map to find a place to eat at.

"Enough about that stuff, I'm famished right now," said Zoran as he shows the other three a picture on his phone.

"We can go there, and the food is relatively cheap so we can get tons of nutritious food," said Sora as we nodded and decided to eat there.

While the quartet walked toward the restaurant they were going to eat at, they passed by very new facilities like the giant dome-shaped building in the distance that seems to be for some fighting purposes and more nuanced buildings all around the city-sized campus.

As the four entered the restaurant, they ordered their food to eat and sat down at their table, and talked with each other while eating.

"Hey, do you guys think magic will be real?" suddenly asked Aki as the Sora and Zoran looked at him with raised eyebrows.

"Well you know, there are skills that we can learn, and it's basically magic at this point from the articles on the internet, some are even like Gifts like the Invisibility skill, and if skills use the same source of energy as Gifts, then are Gifts and Skills magic?" asked Aki as that thought finally donned on the other two.

"Maybe" responded Jong-ga as he slurps on some ramen that let out a resounding slurrrpppppp sound.

"What is the difference between Skills and Gifts even? Won't Gifts be obsolete in the future with the appearance of skills? Are the problems of Giftless going to be solved through skills!?" exclaimed Sora as the other three's eyes widen.

"But the system holders are abysmal, and the majority of those who have the system also hold Gifts, so are we even sure that those who have no Gifts will get the system in the first place?" asked Zoran as we contemplated deep in thought.

"Sigh, let's not worry about that problem, it's not like we can do anything about it," said Jong-ga while letting out a sigh.

"Don't be like that Jong-ga, if you want the world to be a better place, we should learn how to change it ourselves even if the changes are minuscule in comparison" said Sora as Jong-ga's eyes glowed in surprise at the words of wisdom told by Sora.

"… You're right," said Jong-ga as he slapped his cheeks which surprised the trio.

"What are you doing Jong-ga?" asked Zoran with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm just clearing my mind for a bit," said Jong-ga as if something has changed with him as he went through a sort of enlightenment.

"If you say so," said Zoran as he continued to eat his food with the other three following his lead, and after a few minutes, they finished their meal and headed out of the restaurant to go back to their classroom.

"So *burp*, do you guys wanna know why pansexuals are attractive?" suddenly asked Zoran the moment they got out of the restaurant.

"Mmm hmm?" asked Aki as he patted his bloated stomach.

"It's because they're magnetic!" said Zoran as he giggled in joy while the other three snorted at his joke and continued their walk.

"I got a better one, why was it called the dark ages?" asked Aki.

"Why?" asked Zoran.

"It's because there were many knights," said Aki with a grin as the other three chuckled at his joke.

"I gotta admit, that was a good one," said Zoran as they continued their walk.

"Oh, I got another one," said Zoran as his eyes lit up.

"Go for it," said Sora as they waited for his joke.

"In a democracy, it's your vote that counts, but in feudalism, it's your count that votes," said Zoran as we chuckled at his joke.

"Okay, that was funny," said Jong-ga as we continued to walk back to our classroom while also cracking jokes here and there.

"Whew, finally here, I shouldn't have eaten so much," said Zoran as we arrived in front of the entrance to our building and entered it with bloated stomachs except for Sora and Jong-ga who although ate so much food, they were still fine.

"Me too," said Aki as they both patted their bloated stomachs and went towards the flight of stairs while the two grabbed the railings for support.

"Do you want me to carry you guys?" asked Sora.

"No, I'm fine," said Aki as light gathered at his feet and soon he was floating in the sky like a fairy leaving a trail of golden yellow bits of light.

"Oh yeah, I can do that too," said Zoran as he suddenly started to fly with no weapons in sight.

"What!?" said Aki and Sora as they look at the floating Zoran.

"It's my shoes, I made small shoe size shields below them in the shape of my shoes that allow me to fly," said Zoran while showing them the metallic bottom of his shoes which answered their confusion.

Soon, the floating and walking duo went up the flight of stairs with no problem as they arrived in front of their classroom with the floating duo dropping down to the ground.

With a yawn, Sora opened the door with the four walking through it afterward and saw that only a few of their classmates have returned back to their classroom as more than 10 minutes were left before class starts so they were probably wandering around campus right now having fun.

The four then got on their seats and took out their phone and before they knew it, they were talking to each other to pass the time as this will be what a normal school day is for the four in the oncoming future.
