They drove to hospital with their bundles as they expected to meet their dad live and up.
When they got in, Dr. Alvin waited for them at the door.
"Is he up? Is he back?" the children asked full of expectations.
"You can see him for now but he isn't up yet. We need to have a close examination on him before he fully wakes up but trust me, he is back to life."
"Aah!"
Anyway, they all ran into the ward where Kiaan was on the normal bed but still asleep.
His hands were closed in a soft fist and he was livelier than before. His color was back and his lips weren't as dry as they were last time. He was no longer in a white gown but a navy-blue simple suit. Probably this is what Dr. Alvin changed him into.
"His lips are still a little dry." Carly explained.
"Yeah, but not as it were before, right?" Dr. Alvin smiled at the observant girl.
"Is he hearing what we are saying?" Ray asked.
"Yes, he is, but we aren't sure if he recognizes your voices." Dr. Alvin explained.
"Now, he has to be taken out for examination first before you can see him."
"Ok." They left the ward. The doctors flocked in. outside; the family waited impatiently. To them, is was taking eternity. When the door opened, the children rushed past the doctors into the ward without waiting to hear what they had to say.
"Don't… we can't…" too late the six were already in.
Probably the surprise was too much, no one could explain but when the kids ran in and called their daddy who was helped in a sitting position, he fainted back.
"Doctor, what's?" Rhea started.
"He's fine, he'll definitely be up."
The children were too emotional and Rhea escorted them out and helped them calm down. She personally was emotional, but because of the children, she had to be strong.
"Daddy was up but…" Carly cried.
"No… no… no." he is fine, ok? Besides, did you all forget put plan? We had to give him a surprise but you all ran in." Rhea said.
"It's because we can't wait to have him." Henry explained.
Dr. Alvin called Rhea in his office and after a while, she came back to be with the children.
"We're going home now!" she said.
"No… am not going anywhere." Everyone refused.
Well, Dr. Alvin just told her to take the kids home and come back the following day. That made more sense because he will at least be more stable that he was earlier. Rhea had a hard time convincing the children back into the car and when she did, they were all in tears of protest.
Supper was made but no one ate. Not even Hutson and Lina who had been busy the whole day.
"That's better because we can all be present and see him." Huston said.
"I can't wait to welcome him back." Lina said.
Briella and Austin were at the Crystal Estate already and everyone was waiting eagerly for morning to come. The media was already aware and the whole country was waiting for the big surprise the children prepared for their dad.
The next morning…
Who knew the children would wake up earlier than anyone?
After showering and getting prepared, they sat in the living room talking loudly and happily that no one would sleep.
"Hey… you're too noisy babies!" Austin said walking out in his night gown.
"Grand pa, aren't you happy?" they asked.
"I am." Austin said.
Everyone got prepared and they had breakfast together. They didn't have supper and no one would dare get out of the house hungry.
Before they left, Adriel was already out there waiting. The party left.
"What a big day!" he said. "A day everyone has been eagerly waiting. Missing someone for six months is no joke."
"Keep the kids safe. Especially this four." Briella said. "Don't get too emotional."
"Grand ma, I can't promise I'll try holding back. I missed daddy." Carly said.
"Don't forget the plan, Carly." Rex reminded her.
"How can I?"
"Hey, let's get into the car. Time is running out." Hutson called.
Everyone got into the car with Hutson as the driver, took over the steering wheel. Rhea was too emotional to drive and the kids sat next to her.
Austin, Briella and Lina sat in the other car with Adriel as the driver.
Zoom!
To Grematoria national hospital.
"Bills have already been settled by the president but that doesn't mean he's ready to go home. He still needs close medical supervision until when we're sure he's stable to go home." Dr. Alvin said.
"Can you help us execute our plan?" Ray asked.
"of course, just tell me what you want." Who can turn down such cute children? He accepted.
Everyone dispersed,
"Sir, I want to blind fold you." Dr. Alvin said.
"Why? Are my children here? Where is she?" Kiaan asked.
"We have a surprise for you and you have to be patient." Dr. Alvin said.
Kiaan accepted.
Since he couldn't walk on his own, Dr. Alvin helped him up and handed him the walking stick. He also held him from his left side and helped him into a room where he sat him down and made that sign as agreed.
Two fourteen years old boys walked in and stood close to Kiaan.
"Can you guess who is here?" Dr. Alvin said.
"I can't. can I feel them first?" he asked.
Harris and Henry came close and he felt them from up and down, then nodded with a soft smiled.
"My boys, Henry and Harris." He said.
"Wow!"
Henry and Harris helped their daddy change into the black suit they had personally designed and later helped him back into the ward which was decorated with balloons, flowers and all fancies plus pictures they had drawn.
The girls, who had helped their mommy into the pearl dress came in first. Adriel, Huston and Austin were in and Rhea and Lina were not in.
Dr. Alvin removed the blindfold.
"Welcome back daddy!" the children shouted amidst their most emotional state. They just wanted to run forward and hug him but Dr. Alvin blocked them saying the had to take care.
"My children!" he said reaching out for them.
"We missed you dad."
Just when he thought it was over, the door opened and a lady in a beautiful pearl dress entered. When she saw him, she broke down and was held by Lina and Briella. Briella cried when she saw her son. Slowly, the two hug softly and her tears dropped on his suit.
"Rhea…."
