Chapter 17 - Ancestral Dragon Will

It had been a few days since the match had occurred. Julong naturally received a lot of praise for putting on such a match, much did Mushin Yuan, who was not even criticized for losing the match. He had to go against the Spears of Divine Light, after all. Such a Technique didn't have many equals if any at all.

According to the agreement of the fight, Julong was now in possession of the Heavenly Saint Edge and was rather pleased with being able to win, and in the process protect the foundation of Mushin Yuan, who had expressed his gratitude when they spoke a few hours after.

Julong had been rather thoughtful over the past few days, however. While in the domain they were fighting inside of, he had felt something... it was like it was calling to him, or rather his body was calling for it.

He was sure this had something to do with his blessing, which he had deduced was not a blessing. Even so, it was still easier to refer to it as such to avoid questioning.

He had gone to Zi Xiao about the matter - so that was today's agenda. Julong was supposed to be heading back to the empty domain that had been the arena he had fought in a few days earlier.

He was currently in his room by the end of his bed, slowly refining the Genesis Qi around him while he waited for Zi Xiao to arrive. God knows what she did all day, she always seemed to be up to something, and now was no different. She was late, late by at least 10 minutes. She always had to make it the least convenient for him, no matter what.

It was then that he felt a small distortion in space near him. Coming out in her usual glory was none other than Zi Xiao.

Speak of the devil, and she shall appear.

His half-lidded eye trained on her before propping himself up and patting the small amount of dust that had gathered on his robes.

"Master."

He bowed at her, as per tradition.

She rolled her eyes, she had already told him how much she hated seeing him do that.

"I'll let you get away with that today, but only because I made you wait so long."

Julong scoffed quietly, returning to a straight posture once more.

"What even took you so long? I was sitting here for at least 10 minutes."

Zi Xiao sighed, apparently she was just feeling lazy today.

She picked up on his thought and shot him an annoyed glance.

"Hey, I'm not lazy! I was reinforcing the domain so it wouldn't collapse! Such domains are disposable, and without proper handling can collapse and kill you while in them."

"I was kidding, Master."

She remained quiet for a split second.

"You sure have become bold."

He tilted his head at her, almost like he was asking her to explain, but she ignored him and turned around.

As per her usual routine when opening space, she waved her hand, opening a tear that he was able to walk through. It looked exactly the same as it did the day of the fight, and in addition, he could already feel the pull of something inside.

"Thank you, Master."

He said gratefully, walking toward the tear in space to enter the domain. He was eager to see what it was that grasped his attention.

"Before you go. I have to tell you that when you return I want to have a talk with you about something. I haven't been able to see you much in the past few days because of the diplomatic matters from the result of the match, but I hope you'll come to seek me out. It is rather important.

"I'll make sure to leave this spatial tear open so you can return when your done, as I have more business to attend to right now."

"I understand. I'll find you when I return."

Now he understood why Zi Xiao was rather reluctant to tell him what she was doing. She was obviously tired from running around to attend to the different matters that had arisen in regards to the fight.

He thought this as he took his final steps through the tear in space, leading him back to the plain and desolate world of darkness.

Once there he felt an even stronger attraction to whatever had reached out to him just a little earlier. He looked off into the distance, straight in the direction of whatever he could feel was calling him.

It was a long way away, and if he were a normal Qi Nourishing Realm expert, he would, unfortunately, have to walk the whole way there. Thankfully, he was anything but normal.

He took off into flight, controlling the Qi around him to allow him such an ability. He had unintentionally used such control of Qi in his match with Mushin Yuan after he had also showcased the ability. It alone proved that both were exceptionally talented.

Arriving near a mountain, he felt whatever had called him there had become stronger in presence, meaning he was close.

Looking up to the peak of the mountain, he couldn't help but become annoyed. Why was it always the peak of a mountain that produced such good things? It was much like the mountain inside of the Saint Domain he resided in. Not only was it good for External Cultivation, but also was profound at allowing him to absorb the surrounding Genesis Qi. That wasn't even mentioning that it was a mountain that he had originally contacted Zi Xiao on, though, that last one could have been anywhere, had he so chosen.

Stepping foot onto the peak after flying to the top, he was instantly greeted with a vision.

He saw a beautiful golden dragon spiralling in the air in a very controlled manner. It slowly settled into a coiled position, closing its eyes and resting. On the very tip of its' tail, there was a scale that was shining a very dazzling gold colour.

He was then sucked out of the vision, not allowed to see anymore.

He recognised the dragon, it was his 'blessing'. He had of course been able to see it whenever he looked inside of himself, so naturally, he would recognise it. Having done so allowed him to tell exactly what it was that had called out to him and made him track so far.

The mountain inside of the domain he was in - the mountain he was currently standing on, held something akin to Ancestral Dragon Qi. It was a much more defined component of what differentiated the Qi from other Scriptures of Genesis Qi. It seemed to be the same as the very essence of his blessing, and something he had only ever heard about in literature.

It was Ancestral Dragon Will.
