Chapter 23 - Plans

Zhun Lao over the past few months had slowly been driving himself into a point of insanity. His hate grew as the fame connected to Julong and just the mention of his name alone grew. It was incredible, the exponential growth it was achieving. And the craziest part was that it was simply due to the rankings of all the lists updating.

Now at the number one spot on the Qi Nourishing Realm List sat the name Xiaoyao Julong.

Beyond belief, it infuriated him. And to think it all began from one small mistake he had made. He wanted to murder him, heinously, horrifically. Gruesomely.

He hated him. Hated, hated, hated him!

And what made everything even worse, was that if he didn't kill the boy soon, he would never get the chance thanks to his positive notoriety. If he even tried in the future he would be turned to nothing on the spot. Or so he thought.

His deteriorating mental state had made him forget that a similar fate awaited him no matter what he did. Hence his current predicament.

He was sitting in his office, a large plan has strewn out across the wall opposite the side of the room he was facing so he could constantly admire it.

It would be perfect. He would take advantage of the inhouse fighting in the Mushin family, to draw both Mushin Yuan and Xiaoyao Julong out and kill them both. Because it occurred due to the inhouse fighting there would be no culprit but the Mushin family, and that way he could also destroy the rest of the Mushin household for Mushin Yuan losing to Julong.

What point was there in keeping a failure of a household in his Zixiao Region?

All that could be heard were the light and hysteric chuckles that came from him as he thought about the success of the plan.

A few seconds later a soft knock came to the door of his office.

A click was all he required to cover up what was on his wall before giving him a soft call to come in.

When the door opened an elderly looking man walked in. He was rather fancy clothing, befitting of someone his stature. He was an Elder from the Mushin family.

This was going to be his ticket to luring the two boys out.

An evil grin flashed on his face before it faded momentarily.

"Ahh, Mushin Xu. Come, please have a seat."

Zixiao Region - Saint Domain

Julong was sitting back on the top of the mountain inside of the Saint Domain. He had recently received word of Mushin Yuan's perfect breakthrough. While it made him proud of Mushin Yuan, it also sparked something in him.

He had been meditating at the time, doing completely nothing when Zi Xiao had barged in and told him. It was meant to entice him and make him work harder, and it did. All the small things, like making them spend time together made him crave his own breakthrough even more. Though this wasn't the only reason, he had found out just before Su Youwei left the Saint Domain that even she was closer to her breakthrough than he was.

Thanks to this, over the past few days he had been Cultivating almost non-stop, only stopping for a short 2 or 3 hour sleep every now and again. He already generally Cultivated for at least 9-10 hours a day, an amount that subverted normal practitioners standards unless they were trying to break through, which could mean non-stop Cultivation for months at a time.

Julong was prepared though. He was just that motivated.

He was making quicker progress than normal, as expected, but the breakthrough would probably not be anytime soon. He would be able to break through normally any time he wanted in reality, but just like what he had agreed on with Zi Xiao, he would hit his absolute peak in each Realm inclusive of the Qi Nourishing Realm.

It was frustrating, but it would greatly benefit him in the long run.

Suddenly, out of rippling space, just like all the times before, Zi Xiao stepped out in front of him, making him open his eyes and momentarily stop Cultivating.

There was a small envelope in her hand. It was tightly shut, meaning she hadn't opened it yet and was most likely addressed to him.

"Sorry to interrupt you at such a time, but this came for you. It's from the Mushin Family I'm assuming since it came through our personal array, whom only they have access to along with Su Youwei."

"Thank you, Master."

He tentatively took it from the hand she was holding it out to him with.

"If your thankful, then in order to repay me, make it into the Heavens Gate Realm quickly. Okay?"

And with that, not allowing him to respond since it was not an optional request, she disappeared.

He lightly shook his head in disbelief. As if he wasn't already trying his hardest.

Opening the envelope, he could immediately tell by just the handwriting at a glance who it had come from. Mushin Yuan had sent him the letter, but for what?

As he read through Mushin Yuan explained the current situation of his family's political matters. But most importantly, he had requested something of him. To help him find someone.

His younger sister had gone missing.
