"Originally, I wanted to perform a Perfect Breakthrough, but since I have been pushed to such a state I will have to break through normally.
"While I will have no qualms if you win. I cannot just give you such a win, as I too wish to become someone extremely powerful in the future."
Julong understood where Mushin Yuan was coming from, and as such did not verbally object to such a tactic. Though he did worry a slight bit for him and his breakthrough into the Heavens Gate Realm.
There were 3 ways to break through in total, and those were the Forced way, the Natural way - otherwise referred to as the normal way, and the Perfect way.
A Forced Breakthrough was when you forced yourself to break through into the next realm without being ready, and could cause very serious implications in the future of ones' Cultivation. This was not a recommended way to break through.
The Natural Breakthrough was the standard way of breaking through to the next realm, and as such not much explanation was needed to teach someone about what it was. When someone was ready they would know and could break through without any implications.
A Perfect Breakthrough was when you had reached the absolute limits of your talent in the Realm and the person's body would force them to break through into the next realm. It was by far the best way of doing things and would mean you would have no chance of any issues in the future of Cultivation. The only issue was that it would take a much longer amount of time than it would to break through normally.
It was highly recommended to do a Perfect Breakthrough when stepping into the Heavens Gate Realm. This was because it was a very foundational realm, even more so than the Qi Nourishing Realm, since it was the final dictation of your talent and ability to reach high levels of cultivation. It was also the place where Genesis Qi Stars foundations' would be created. Therefore hitting its absolute peak was something that should always be done.
Because Mushin Yuan was going to break through normally, he might hinder his future talent, albeit he wasn't sure how far Mushin Yuan was from the limit, the foundation he would lose was still something.
Julong was now determined to stop his breakthrough, not only for himself but to protect Mushin Yuan's future talent.
The swirling void behind Mushin Yuan had slowly transformed into something akin to a very large spiralling cone. Judging from the pattern on the cone, it was like the technique had created ribbons of Qi that intertwined around each other creating a knitted look. The end of each ribbon became translucent and looked rather daunting.
Julong was certain that this Technique was his most powerful.
"This is Technique is called the Downward Spiral of Crucifixion. This should be able to stall you until I step into the Heavens Gate Realm."
"The step into such a stage should not be taken so lightly, Mushin Yuan. I will not allow you to throw away your talent."
Mushin Yuan nodded with a small smile.
"Then save me, Xiaoyao Julong."
"I will."
Julong took his right arm and stretched it out to his right side. Space behind him distorted and a portal formed. Thousands upon thousands of Qi spearheads peaked out from the diluted space.
Everyone knew what such a Technique was. It was one of if not the most powerful Genesis Technique of all time. And despite it still being in the Black Yuan Realm, it would still be powerful to the point it was terrifying.
Julong did not practice such a Technique often as it took even more strain on both his body and Qi dwelling than the Ancestral Sword Shuttle.
Mushin Yuan's eyes widened to their maximum in an instant. Not in a million years had he expected Julong to wield such a Technique. The Technique was always a single use copy, and only 3 had ever existed in the world. They belonged to Zi Xiao's original Master who was now deceased, Zi Xiao herself, and now Xiaoyao Julong. This however was something not even Julong was aware of.
That's when it finally dawned on Mushin Yuan. This battle was always supposed to be won by Julong. Even if he won by some miracle, the likely hood of Julong being abandoned by Zi Xiao was minimal. And while it wouldn't have been Zi Xiao's original intention to create such a situation, she would definitely not be able to let go of him once she had let him use the Technique. Even the populace of the Zixiao Region had to acknowledge this.
He wasn't even upset by this. Someone who had been bestowed with such a Technique at such a realm was sure to become great, regardless of the fact he had the Technique or not. The amount of trust placed in him with the Technique showed this.
Silence had taken over the whole Zixiao Region. The only person who was not shocked by the revelation was Zi Xiao herself. She was smiling. The fact he had brought it out to save Mushin Yuan from himself was beautifully tragic. She would have to tell him just how special the Technique actually was after the match. She could tell by the silence so quiet you could hear a pin drop - there was going to be some sort of revolt.
The Technique had essentially ensured his win in the minds of everyone watching.
This made Zhun Lao who was sitting in the stadium in one of the private booths hit the table he was sitting at.
It broke into smithereens and eventually turned into nothing but ash as fiery Genesis Qi leaked from his body.
I will kill you, Xiaoyao Julong! Mark my words! You will be killed by me!
"I see..."
Julong looked toward Mushin Yuan. He looked happy yet downcast at the same time. It was a very complicated expression.
"She trusts in you very much."
He was confused by this statement but was not allowed to ponder as the Downward Spiral of Crucifixion was sent toward him.
With a small sigh of what seemed to be exhaustion, Julong merged all the spears into one. It was time to end such a farce and save Mushin Yuan.
The spear exuded a magical aura, unlike anything either of them had felt before. Julong had severely underestimated the power of the spear in front of him apparently. He knew it was powerful and that Zi Xiao had not told him the full story about the technique, but he was sure it was just too powerful. There was no doubt it would be able to destroy the Divine Wall when it was made from Grade 6 Qi. He could tell just by looking at the spear, even without a comparison.
He raised his hand slowly, then dropped it.
"Spear of Divine Light."
He spoke its' name sternly with near no expression. It shot forward faster than what could be visibly followed. It looked like a shooting star streaking across the sky; dazzlingly beautiful.
When it struck the Downward Spiral of Crucifixion, it immediately blew straight through the tip without any resistance, making the Technique dissipate without any explosion. It had in fact absorbed the power from the Technique.
How terrifying was this Technique?!
Mushin Yuan absentmindedly stared at the incoming spear. He was smiling softly. Perhaps it was a good thing? This way he wouldn't damage his foundation at least. It wasn't like he would lose face either. Julong was Zi Xiao's disciple and wielded such a monstrous Technique. It was perfectly understandable as to why he would lose.
The starlight like shine overtook his body, causing him to all but vanish as an explosion as powerful as the Heavenly Super Nova erupted around him.
In reality, Julong had pulled the majority of power from the spear last second. If he hadn't, the spear would most likely have killed him. Maybe if his Genesis Qi Grade was higher, he could have hindered the Technique, but that was the unfortunate reality of Grade deficit. It was a very large gap.
Mushin Yuan's unconscious form could be seen flying into the distance.
His only way of confidently winning was by stepping into the Heavens Gate Realm since the Qi Grade gap made their realms almost balance out. But he was foolish to think that he would be able to just do it in the middle of the fight, or even win the fight if he had stepped into such a realm.
Right before his body could crash into the ground, an incredibly handsome figure had caught him. This was naturally Xiaoyao Julong.
Only now had Julong realised the unfathomable gap between them.
"I'm sorry...
"Mushin Yuan."
