Internships have ended and it was officially time to head back to school. The two teens left Hawks' agency, one feeling as though they didn't learn anything while the other felt as if they did. "It wasn't ideal being within his agency." Tokoyami voiced as they began to walk back to the subway station where they first arrived. "I know. We were just there as a cleanup crew for him. I still don't understand why he chose us in the first place. All that just for cleaning after him and lowly gossip." Kurmara sighed. "Although," she began as they waited for the train. "I think there was something he taught us. Well, maybe me if you don't feel that way." Kurmara hinted and Tokoyami nodded. "There was something when it was just him and I one night," the teen boy mentioned and she perked. "You got one-on-one with him too?" She asked and he nodded again. "It wasn't exactly the best, but I feel as though that was truly the only time that I learned anything." "I guess that makes two of us." Kurmara giggled as the two got onto the train and sat down as everyone else began to step in as well. "I just can't wait to return to school though. Everyone else's experiences were probably better than ours." "The classroom will be buzzing for sure." Tokoyami agreed as the two headed home.

Kurmara walked down the sidewalk in her neighbourhood as she thought about the things that happened while she was at Hawk's agency, especially the strange encounter she had with the person whose eyes glowed like hers. She remembers how she felt the slight menacing aura from them and how she slowly started to get scared of them before she shook her head. It happened already, you have nothing to worry about anymore now that you're back from that. She thought to herself, trying to shake the uneasiness from her but she couldn't help but look over her shoulder before she walked up to her house. She sighed before opening the front door, leaving all those strange and uneasy feelings behind as she walked into her house, closing the door behind her. "I'm home," the teen announced as she left her shoes near the front door and walked further inside to suddenly be hoisted into the air by her brother and aunt. "Woah!" "Welcome home!" The two greeted in unison before setting the teenager down and squeezing her into a hug which made her giggle. "Haha! What's this suddenly?" Kurmara asked once they finally released her. "You finally finished your internship, we're just excited to hear about your experience." Da-Eun voiced as she walked back into the kitchen, leaving Kurmara and Eun in the living room where he stood there grinning before ruffling her short hair.
"It must've been fun and interesting since you had a classmate with you." Eun voiced as he walked to the island and kurmara shook her head and fixed her hair before she sat down next to him. "Classmate? Was it the one you keep telling us is just a friend?" Da-Eun teased with a smirk as she looked at her niece and Kurmara's ear burned. "No, for your information, it wasn't!" She huffed which made her aunt snicker. "Speaking of that boy, did either of you confess yet?" "Auntie!!" Eun and Dae-Eun both laughed. "Be serious!" Kurmara whined, embarrassed. "We are!" The two older Hayashi's laughed before quieting down. "Now now, we were just teasing you," Eun voiced as he put a hand on his sister's shoulder. "Uh, yeah! I could tell." Kurmrara exclaimed, which made the two chuckle. "Back to how your internship went, tell us your experience," Da-Eun suggested as she motioned for Eun to help her get plates ready. "Do I have to?" Kurmara queried and her aunt nodded. "Of course! Which agency did you go to? Who scouted you and your classmate?" Her aunt questioned as she put food on the plates and Kurmara sighed. "Tokoyami and I got scouted by Hawks and we thought that it was going to be great." She began and her aunt stopped before looking at her, brows furrowed.
"Hawks? As in that flying hero in his early twenties?" She asked and Kurmara shrugged. I guess so. I mean, he looked young so I guess he might be like twenty-one or something. Anyways, why do you ask?" She asked and Da-Eun shook her head. "I still can't believe that kid has his own agency... why did he scout you guys? What did you do?" She asked, ignoring her niece which made Kurmara sigh. "Nothing, we were sticking cleaning up after him with his sidekicks and by that I mean we had to escort the thugs he got to deal with to the police and straighten out anything that got messed around with all while he got to do the more interesting things," Kurmara explained as she rubbed her face, irritated as she thought back to her excruciatingly boring week. "What?! That's all he had you do?" Da-Eun questioned as she loudly slammed a fork onto the counter, making the siblings jump. "Yeah, not to mention he only really wanted to chat with us about gossip." "Gossip? About what?" Da-Eun questioned as she leaned against the counter, her arms crossed as she watched Kurmara. "Like about the villains who attacked us a while back.." Kurmara voiced, remembering everything that happened with a shudder before she shook her head.
"You mean when those villains attacked your teachers and basically half traumatized you and your classmates?" Eun questioned and Kurmara nodded. "Yeah, pretty much.." She sighed as she looked to her aunt who was in deep thought. "Da-Eun?" She questioned, but her aunt didn't answer her, she just bit her thumb and shook her head slightly. "Auntie," Eun put his hand on her and she quickly looked up. "Oh, sorry guys, I was just thinking about something." "About what?" "It's nothing, don't worry about it. Anyways, let's eat before the food gets cold. Your brother taught me this recipe, so I hope you like it even if it's not the best." Her aunt voiced dismissively as she slid a plate in front of Kurmara. "What is it?" The teen girl asked. "Chirashizushi with fresh veggies on the side." Eun voiced as he sat next to her, smiling. "You know how to make that?" "Well, more like he had to call your dad for the recipe because he forgot it." Da-Eun voiced with a chuckle. "Once I saw the ingredients Dad sent me I remembered how to make it." "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, you beginner." Da-Eun laughed and Eun rolled his eyes, making Kurmara giggle before she took a bite, savouring the flavours. "It's really good." She voiced and her aunt smiled. "I'm glad you like it."
The three of them ate, but Kurmara had only taken a few bites before letting out a silent sigh, something eating away at her before she suddenly stood up. "What's wrong?" Eun asked with a concerned look. "Come with me into the backyard really quick, I have to show you guys something." She voiced, both her aunt and brother stood up quickly which made her raise a brow before shaking her head slightly and walking towards the backdoor. Once the three of them were outside, she stood in front of them both. "What do you want to show us?" Da-Eun asked cautiously. "Did you get another Quirk?" Eun asked and Kurmara's eyes went wide as she looked at her aunt before back at her brother. "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that I already told her.." Eun voiced as he rubbed the back of his head and Kurmara groaned. "Asshole." She voiced with a sigh. "Sorry kiddo, we should've told you that I know too." Da-Eun apologized. "I forgot since you've been so busy." Eun voiced and Kurmara nodded. "It's okay, I have been busy since my first day, so don't worry about it. But to answer your question from earlier, no, I didn't get a new Quirk." She reassured them and they both nodded. "But, I did learn something while I was with Hawks, so I guess it wasn't totally boring being there." Kurmara voiced and the two watched her, waiting for her to demonstrate.
"Now, I want you guys to try and keep up with what I'm about to show you because I just barely learned it last week," she told them and they nodded, watching her. Kurmara took a deep breath before she closed her eyes and began to ease her mind, focusing on using her Wind. She opened her eyes and boosted herself into the air above them, high above the house before she looked around, taking a deep breath before she allowed herself to fall a little before using her Quirk to move herself above her neighbours as well as around the tree in her backyard, smiling to herself a little as she continued, feeling as though she was finally getting the hang of it. She giggled to herself just before she landed in front of her brother and aunt, who looked at her with surprised expressions. She watched them for a moment before shaking her hands a little, with a crooked smile. "Tada," she chuckled lightly before swinging her arms a little. Her brother was the first to move, he took a few steps before he picked her up in a hug, swinging her around as she squealed. "That was amazing!" Eun exclaimed with a grin before he sat her back on her feet. "It was nothing, just some tips I picked up on while I was at the agency.." Kurmara voiced dismissively, but there was a light blush on her cheeks from her slight embarrassment.
She was never the one to boast about herself, but she was proud of herself for what she learned and was glad her brother liked it after he taught her how to boost herself with her Quirk in the first place. "Kid.. where did you learn that?" Da-Eun queried as she walked over to the siblings. "Well, I learned it from Hawks one night when I was trying to keep myself balanced with what Eun had already taught me. He saw what I was doing and gave me a few tips and how to give myself the perfect timing.." Kurmara explained with a shrug but her aunt grabbed her shoulders and made it so she was at eye level with the short teen. Kurmara expected her to say something after her comment about Hawks, but she had a smile on her face. "I'm glad you weren't bored the entire time." She voiced and Kurmara giggled before shrugging. "It just happened one night and it was actually really useful." "Useful enough to try at school?" Eun suggested, bumping her a little and she laughed before nodding. "I could try it during the Hero Training with All Might." She shrugged and they agreed. "You could impress not only your teachers but your classmates as well," Da-Eun said and the teen girl nodded. "I'd love to see everyone's faces when I show it!"
"Okay okay, let's get inside before our food actually starts to get cold." Eun chuckled and they went back inside the house to finish their dinner. After dinner, Kurmara headed into her room and closed the door behind her before sighing and walking over to her bed where she flopped face-first into her comforter. "I don't know how I feel about going back.." She voiced to herself quietly before lying on her bed. She stared at her ceiling, everything that happened during her internship still in her mind as well as what Hawks had taught her. "I do miss everyone though.." She huffed as she held one of her pillows close to her, someone flashing across her mind that caused her to blush and smile, burrowing her face into her pillow with a silent giggle. "I especially can't wait to see him again. I wonder what things he learned from his internship.." Kurmara yawned and closed her eyes, her thoughts quieting down as she drifted to sleep.
~ ~ ~
lt was morning which meant that it was time for Kurmara to return to school after her internship and she was feeling slightly nervous. It's so weird.. is it because it's only been a week? She thought to herself as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes. There was a sudden knock at her door before she voiced for them to open it and it was Eun who peeked his head in and gave her a small smile. "You ready to head back to school?" He asked and she gave him a fake smile. "Yup! It's been too long and I'm dying to go." He chuckled before nodding. "Then get up and get ready or else you'll be late." He told her before he closed her door again and she let out a small sigh before flopping back onto her pillows and staring at the ceiling. Guess it wouldn't be wise to ditch my first day back… She thought before huffing and standing up to get dressed, watching herself in her mirror. She still had some weight on her but could tell it looked way better than before. She hated how she used to look and was glad she didn't have to deal with that anymore. "Good riddance." She voiced before she buttoned her shirt up and slid her skirt on. Once her socks were on and she fixed her tie, she shook her head and fixed a few pieces of hair before walking out of her room and into the living room where her brother and aunt were.
"There she is! You ready to head back kiddo?" Da-Eun asked with a smile as the teen walked to the island where Eun slid her some toast and green tea. "It's been too long even though it was just a week," Kurmara chuckled before taking a bite of her toast, her aunt chuckling a little. "Bet you can't wait to hear your classmate's experiences and to get back to your friends." "That too. I'm excited to hear everyone talk about it." She drank the rest of her tea and wrapped her last piece of toast in a paper towel before she went to the front door and slid her shoes on. "I'm leaving, see you guys later!" She waved them off before she opened the door and walked down the street heading to U.A. The walk wasn't long, but she always enjoyed looking around. She finished her toast just before she walked past the gates and up to the huge building she missed so much. Once she was in the building, she walked down the huge hallways until she saw the familiar door and stood in front of it for a few seconds before opening the doors, immediately hearing Kirishima and Sero laughing. "Seriously Bakugou?!" The two boys laughed and Kurmara's eyes landed on Bakugou whose hair was smoothed out and she couldn't help but giggle.
"Shut the hell up. My hair has gotten used to this and I can't get it to go back. I'll kill you both, shut up." The blonde voiced angrily and Kurmara walked to her desk, listening to all her classmates buzzing. I guess Tokoyami was right, everyone is buzzing. She thought as she looked around before her eyes landed on Uraraka who had a battle aura around her. She looked at each of her classmates, picking up on what every one of them had to say about what they did when she suddenly heard a tap on her desk and looked up to see Kirishima with a smile on his face and she couldn't help but smile. "Hi," she greeted, feeling her face warm up as she watched him sit in front of her. "Hey," he greeted back, the chair he sat in facing her desk so he was facing her. "So, how was your internship?" He asked and she looked down before replying. "It was alright, Tokoyami and I were with Hawks but we didn't really do much besides clean up after him with his sidekicks." She told him and he chuckled. "I mean, at least you had a classmate with you, huh?" He queried as he propped his head against his hand and she giggled. "True, but at least before our internship ended he actually taught me something." She mentioned and he raised a brow, his smile never leaving his face and Kurmara could feel her heart beating fast in her chest.
She was surprised she wasn't breathing hard and he couldn't hear it. "You learned something new?" He asked and she nodded. "Yeah, I could show you later if you'd like when we're in our other class.." She voiced shyly, feeling her ears heat up and Kirishima chuckled. "I mean, sure, I'd love to see what he taught you. If you don't get the time then maybe after school?" He suggested and she nodded. "Y-yeah." Just before he could say anything else to her, Denki interrupted them by calling out to Kirishima. "I'll see you later Hayashi." He winked at her and she nodded before watching as he walked over to his desk. Her heart was pounding now and her mind was all over the place. "It seems like he might have a crush on you~" A voice whispered in her ear and Kurmara jumped, snapping her head to her left to see Mina standing next to her with a smirk. "Mina! Hush!" She whispered, her face heating up immediately but the pink girl chuckled before crouching next to her. "Oh come on! Did you not see the way he winked at you?! Not to mention the way he talked to you~" She wiggled her eyebrows but Kurmara just rolled her eyes at her friend. "I don't know what you're talking about.." "Hm, okay then. Lemme ask around then." The teen voiced as she turned to the closest person which happened to be Midoriya.
"Mina!" Kurmara hissed quietly but her friend ignored her. "Heeey," Mina began and the green-haired boy looked up. "Ah, hey Ashido." He looked over to see Kurmara trying to stop her friend before he looked back at Mina. "I have something to ask you," she began but he stopped her. "I think Hayashi wants to tell you something first," he voiced as he motioned to the blonde and brown-haired teen but Mina shrugged. "She can wait for a second. I just wanted to ask if you noticed anything between Kirishima and Hayashi?" She asked and the green-haired boy gave her a curious look, tilting his head a little. "Noticed anything? Like what?" Luckily, before she could say anything more, the bell rang and everyone was in their seats, making Mina groan. "Never mind, I'll ask later." She told him as she hurried to her seat and he looked at Kurmara who let out a relieved sigh. He looked at her with a brow raised as if to ask "what happened?" and she shook her head slightly as she raised her hand a little as if to tell him "it was fine" and "not to mind Mina". He chuckled before nodding and Kurmara let out a breathy laugh before facing forward in her seat.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After her regular classes, it was time for Kurmara to get ready for the Hero Course in the afternoon. She and her classmates got their hero outfits before meeting All Might outside. "I am here! Hope you're ready to return to our lessons." All Might greeted them as they all stood in front of him. "Not much of an entrance.." "I'd expect more after a break" Kurmara heard a few comments but All Might ignore them. "Today is Basic Hero Training," Kurmara perked at this but was also cautious based on what happened during their supposed Rescue Training but she just shook those thoughts away before turning her attention back to her teacher. "--carefully for what's in store. We're going to be conducting a little race. Take everything you've learned from your internships and apply it to this rescue training." He told them and almost immediately, there were questions. "Shouldn't this rescue training be conducted at USJ?" Iida questioned but All Might held a finger up. "Ah, that place specialized in disasters. As I said earlier, this is a race, so be prepared. You're stepping into Field Gamma! It's a dense spread of factories that wind together to create an intricate network of mazelike alleys!"
"You'll be competing in groups of five with each person starting from a different location on the outskirts of the model city. I'll send a distress signal, and you must do what you must to rescue me. Whoever finds me first, wins!" All Might finished before adding, "But, try to keep the property damage to a minimum, please." He voiced as he pointed ad Bakugou. All Might chose the first team and everyone waited but Kurmara was practically vibrating with anticipation. The first team had Sero, Mina, Iida, Ojiro and Midoriya. Everyone was standing in front of a screen that showed them their classmates that were first. "Hey, Iida still hasn't completely recovered yet, has he? He should probably sit this one out.." Kaminari voiced. "Man, everyone in this group has really good mobility," Kirishima commented. "Yeah. If I had to say, I think Midoriya's at a huge disadvantage.." Yaoyorozu mentioned. "Moving around quickly really isn't one of his strong suits, that's for sure." Jirou chimed in. "And whenever he uses his powers he has to hurt himself in order to accomplish anything..." Yaoyorozu said but Kurmara had a feeling he would show them differently what he was capable of. You guys can't just count him out yet.. She thought before opening her mouth. "I think he'll do great." She voiced.
"That damned nerd will definitely come in last." Bakugou voiced with a roll of his eyes. "I'm bettin' on Sero taking first." Kirishima voiced. "Yeeah, but don't count Ojiro out just yet," Denki pronounced. "I'm rooting for Ashido! Her reflexes are nuts." "Even with his injury, I've got a good feeling about Iida." Her classmates all voiced who they were thinking would come first. "Is everyone ready? Begin!" All Might announced and everyone took off, Sero immediately going into the air. "See!! In a cramped place like that, overhead is the way to go!" Kirishima voiced. "That puts Sero at an advantage. He's great at staying airborne." Shoji agreed. Everyone watched as Sero went forward when suddenly Midoriya passed him, making everyone gasp. "Woah, Midoriya?" "Since when can he do that?" Everyone was buzzing at their classmate and his new moves. "Crazy.. those jumps--! Reminds me of someone.." Uraraka voiced. "Look at him." "How'd he change so much.. in just one week?" Kurmara smiled to herself. He always manages to surprise everyone.. She thought to herself before turning her attention to the screen. She watched as he kept going, jumping in the air to get forward. Just as he landed, he lost his footing and slipped, making Kurmara wince before letting out a sigh.
"Shoulda paid more attention.." She muttered to herself. Sero made it to All Might first, ending the rescue race training. After he talked with group one, he then called on Group Two.
* * *
After the Rescue Training race, everyone headed to the locker rooms to change, the girls talking amongst themselves. "I can't believe how outta shape I am," Hagakure whined as she started to get dressed. "Even though we were moving around a lot more during our internships." Mina sighed. Kurmara agreed silently as she took her hero outfit off and brought her shirt over her arms and shoulders, beginning to button it up when she heard Mina. "What happened there?" The pink teen asked as she stared at her friend who just looked down at the faded yet fairly big scar that resided over the right side of her chest, a few inches above her breast. "Oh, I actually don't know how I got this." Kurmara voiced with a shrug as she pulled her shirt down so the other girls could see it too. "You don't know?" "It looks like a scar from something." "Do you at least remember what happened or how it felt?" The girls questioned. "Hey, you have a scar on your back too!" Hagakure voiced and soon the girls were behind Kurmara now. "Woah, she's right." "It seems to be like an exit wound?" "Girls, I honestly don't know how I got this and I'm not sure whether it's a scar or just a birthmark of some kind." The short-haired teen voiced with a slight chuckle before shuddering when someone ran her hand along the mark.
"I think it's a scar. It looks and feels just like one." Mina voiced and her friend turned around to face her. "But I have no memory of ever getting hurt that badly." She said and Mina sighed. "Let's finish getting dressed, we don't wanna be in here for too long." The girls agreed as they finished putting their uniforms on, one of the girls noticed a hole in the wall. "What's that?" "I think this leads to the boy's locker room.." "Jirou? Can you listen to make sure no one found out about it yet?" Uraraka queried but the girl was already on it. "Mineta found it." She voiced coldly and the girls shuddered. "What a creep!" The girl then used one of her earphone jacks to go through the hole. "Thanks, Kyoka!" "Despicable. Let's plug that hole right away." Kurmara shook her head as she pulled her skirt up and fixed her tie. What a little pervert. She thought as she closed her locker and began to head back to the classroom with the rest of the girls, greeting the boys as they all walked together. Once they were in the classroom, they talked about the race as they gathered their things. Kurmara grabbed her bookbag and slung it over her shoulder before walking out of the classroom and heading to the front of the building. As she was walking, she heard someone shout behind her and she turned to see Kirishima waving at her as he jogged to her.
"Hey," She greeted with a smile. "You heading home already?" He asked. "Yeah, today was interesting after not being here for a week." She giggled and he agreed. "Yeah, I think this was just a test of our mobility." He voiced and she nodded. "It's not really my strong suit, but I was able to use my Quirk to help with that, even if I did end up coming in second." She laughed and he smiled at her. "I didn't know you could move like that with your wind Quirk. Is that what you wanted to show me?" He asked and she blushed but nodded. "Yeah, that's what I learned at Hawks' agency that I mentioned earlier today." "I think that's great! It helps you move around more freely! I remember you being able to just only get yourself into the air, but now you're able to move around more now!" He exclaimed and Kurmara giggled, her face feeling like fire. "I appreciate the compliments. You did pretty great too. Even though All Might said to keep the damage to a minimum because of someone, I feel like you probably could've used your Quirk a little bit as you went forward." She told him and he nodded. "You know? I actually was thinking about that but decided not to in case we were to get into trouble, you know?" "Yeah."
They walked together a bit longer, talking more until they eventually came to a stop. "Well, I have to head this way, but I'll see you tomorrow." Kurmara voiced and he nodded. "Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye, Hayashi." Kirishima waved her off and she walked down the street to her neighbourhood, her heart racing. She was smiling to herself as she walked, skipping a little before stopping when Mina came across her mind. "It seems like he might have a crush on you~" "Ack, I can't let Mina get to me!" The teen huffed before continuing her walk home, still thinking about Kirishima on her way.
