Chapter 34 - Blinded

Inshal crouched next to Marlo, she held the bow with an arrow equipt, ready to be fired. "You make the first shot" Marlo whispered to her and she aimed it at the elf guarding the door. All she had to do is let got and the arrow travelled through the air and hit the guards skull, killing him. An alarm went of and the peaceful lab turned into a battle filed of magic and power from the underworld. Blood scattered the ground and Inshal kept to the trees as a sniper. Multiple elfs were killed to her bow alone and the aimed the bow once more but she hesitated. A female elf with double swords looked exactly like her mother, her voice sounded like her and Inshals head ached as she remembered the day she was brought in.

Inshal gritted her teeth and moved the bow away, she aimed at an elf who was attacked Darkin and she hit the skull. Darkin looked aver at her and nodded then went to attacked another elf. Inshal re-armed her bow and aimed at a sniper, that elf she saw killed multiple demons. She hit its back and it screamed, she fired another and it hit its throat. Inshal saw the door to were the demons were looked in was free, she put her bow away and dashed towards it, her weight braking the lock and she saw some angry and low spirited demons. "You dare come back!" Xzaviar hissed as he tried to dash towards her.

"Was I that convincing?" Inshal asked looking at the chains.

"What?" he growled, "what do you want?" he kepted his glowing eyes on her as she grabbed the keys on the wall near the door.

Inshal unlocked his first, "I would never betray you or any one in my kingdom" she smiled as she saw hope flud in all of the demons faces, even Xzaviars.

"Sounds like a fight" Xzaviar looked over at the door, Inshal saw his stomach scared with cold sores and his back was basically mangled.

"It is" Inshal released the last one and they all stormed out behind her. She saw Marlo looking up and he joined her, causing the rest to follow. "You got them out then?" he asked her, taking the lead of the flock.

"Yep" Inshal turned to him, "Xzaviar doesn't look to good".

"Xzaviar!" he called out, "come here" he ordered. Xzaviar flew towards him and Inshal saw all the fresh scars and deep gashes all over him.

"Yes" he sounded normal but his eyes betrayed him.

"What happened? what was they looking for?" he asked.

"They got interested in the egg and they wanted to know anything about us" Xzaviar answered and his wings made him fall behind.

"Let's just get back to camp" Marlo led them all back. Once they were back most of the demons went to the commens tent. "Inshal" Marlo stretched, "let's sleep".

"Ok" she followed him to their tent and they both passed out immediately. "Inshal" Marlo whispered, "Inshal are you awake?" he whispered a question.

"I am now" she whispered back, her nose nuzzled in his chest.

"It's a bit cold, want to go sit by the fire?" he asked.

"Alright" Inshal got up and stepped outside, the wind was strong that it managed to move the tent a bit.

They walked in together, the tent was packed but a space was made for the two of them to sit comfortably with each other. "Well time to suffer with the cold and tend to the egg, I guess" Marlo leaned back, he pulled her down with him and they just chilled in there for the day. They had long conversations with basically everyone in the camp that had doubled in numbers. They were all friendly towards her, they treated her as a friend but one or two had a hidden bitterness. Marlo kept her on his lap, cuddled up to him or next to him, Inshal realised that he got extremely jealous when anyone got the slightest bit comfortable with her. A few flirted with her but it was vague, she barely noticed most of it, only knowing by Marlos reaction. He would get all huffy and demand they leave, "are you just gonna get jealous all night then?" she joked.

"Don't" Marlo pulled her in and sighed.

"Embarrassed now?" she continued to joke.

"No" Marlo looked annoyed now.

"Something wrong?" Inshal stopped joking and rested her chin on his shoulder.

"You know I like when you do that" he laughed and hissed the top of her head.

"I do now" Inshal held his tail with hers and he wrapped their tails around each other.

"It's getting late" Marlo mentioned as he leaned back and put her in a cuddle.

"Yes" Inshal nuzzled her snout into his chest, "want to go to bed?" she asked.

"No" he shook his head, "I'm not tired, wanna go and spread sin?" he smiled and waited for an answer.

"Like I told my father when I first met him, I think it's horrid and I still do" Inshal pinned her ears to the side to show her anger, "you go do what ever you want, I'm not joining".

"Alright" Marlo chuckled a little, "hey Darkin!" he called.

"Yes" he walked up and sat next to him, "need anything?".

"Wanna torment random mortals?" he asked.

"You bet" Darkin smiled and they both left, Inshal left but to stretch her wings out.

Once again she smelled Strongminds sent, 'please say I can actually give him the report'. She dove in the forest and she was able to find him easily, "Inshal" he greeted. Inshal looked around a sniffed, they were alone.

"Strongmind" she finally was able to soften her voice and her throat felt a little strained.

"I came for the report" he informed, "Drin wasn't very happy to find that you went to the underworld".

"Hmm" Inshal twitched her ear, "I've got myself so wrapped in keeping my identity a secret I've forgot about what they would think".

"Did you find anything new? anything that could be a use to Newlaw?" he asked.

"I've got a good control of the demons here" she began, "the egg seems to have no progress".

"What? how? how did you get control over them?" Strongmind had a very confused voice.

"Oh I couldn't tell you last time" Inshal shook her head, "Marlo proposed to me, I put it out as I wanted to see if it would work and already have a way out" she explained.

"So you become their queen?" he didn't seem too sure about this plan.

"I know" Inshal sat down, "it sounds wired but they wouldn't sare anything with me until I got a higher position. It has only been a few days and I have gotten little tips and facts that has been adding up to something big and I feel like I can get the information we need to bring them down. You know my father is in with us but we haven't discussed anything yet and the only one I'm worried about is Xzaviar, the demon that cornered you" she explained everything she knows.

"Look Drin is already challenging Newlaw for even letting you in, once they find out that you became the queen of the Dohan kingdom, what do you think will happen?" Strongmind asked sounding a little stressed.

"Tell them that this is the only way to get what we need, the good news is that the egg is dormant, it isn't going to hatch any time soon" Inshal raised her voice a little.

"Right" Strongmind nodded, well, as well as a cloud can nod.

"I'm sorry Strongmind" Inshal apologised, "I didn't mean to raise my voice".

"It's ok" he sounded more happy with her response, "it's just... so many complaints that we let you be our kin".

"Give them time" Inshal advised, "right now is just a low time, they will see the real me" she smiled. "The me I can't be right now" a frown formed and Inshal saw Strongminds concerned look.

"If I had your power you would be as happy as a puppy" he joked.

"You, Anchor and Newlaw seems to be the main once who really care about me" Inshal felt tears forming, she never thought that way before but now that she is, she realised that the demons were more welcoming then the angels ever were.

"We all care about you, especially Silva" Strongmind challenged in a calm way.

"Silva? wasn't she the one who didn't care if I died?" Inshal narrowed her eyes in disapproval.

"No that was Drin but he has always hated change so don't take it personally" Strongmind shook his head a he had seemed to be amused.

"So why say 'Silva' as she is the one most worried about me?" Inshal asked a little curious now.

"You haven't noticed?" Strongmind amused with a little chuckle, "she's definitely into you".

"Hm" Inshal didn't know how to feel, from what she gathered from being under the tranquilizer she and Drin were mocking her but now... she wasn't.

"I'll tell her you said that then" Strongmind joked.

"That will hurt her" Inshal pinned her ears back.

"So you do care about her" Strongmind noted.

"Well... not like that" Inshal almost stuttered and it made her sound like she has feelings back but she doesn't. When Inshal thinks of Silva, she sees an angel dedicated to her work and not looking to settle too much.

"Alright" Strongmind took of and all Inshal saw was a tiny cloud a bit too low. 'F-ck' Inshal thought, 'now I'll have to deal with that' she flicked her tail.

"I was right" Xzaviars voice called from behind her, "you are betraying us" he sounded more heart broken then angry.

"Xzaviar" Inshal turned to him and a disappointed and hurt demon stared at her, "no-".

"No what!" he snarled, "no you didn't just spill out all our plans, volable positions to a second council angel but Darkin to" Xzaviar hissed in fury. He went to dash but Inshal caught him, she dragged him down and pinned him, "I can't let you" Inshal bared her teeth, "I honestly like you".

"I'm giving you two options" she began, "you can shut up and say nothing, or if you want help me and my father or I take you to the hevens as a prisoner, your choice" Inshal put pressure at the back of his neck and he glared.

"You honestly think I'll betray my King?" Xzaviar bared his own thangs.

"I'm giving you a chance, I view as my friend" Inshal spoke softly, she is telling the truth ever since they went out drinking with Clorsh, they have became her friends.

"Even now?" he hissed but it was muffled due to the disadvantage position, "when I want nothing more then to tear you apart?".

"I was very lonely before you" Inshal admitted, "make your choice now or I will be forced to drag you to the hevens" Inshal warned.
