After hours of browsing on the computer Inshal heard something enter the tent. "Found the computer?" Marlo asked, "there's a lot of different things on there made from the mortals".
"Yeah, did you know that the humans and elfs are in a war?" Inshal is pulling it of as if she just heard of it.
"Yes, from what I heard the humans got mad that the elfs took some of their territory and the humans over reacted" Marlo stretched then yawned.
"Interesting" Inshal nodded with a smile.
"So you done with your duties then?" Inshal might be calmer now but she is not happy.
"Can you just let it rest? I told you my reasons" Marlo raised his voice a little and the sharp tone startled Inshal a little.
"I just find them hard to believe" Inshal soften her voice and decided to do the petty 'I'm not looking at you' thing.
"Well that's the truth and if you don't believe it it's your chose, just not now I'm not in the mood to argue with you" Marlo sighed and layed on his bed feeled with covers.
"I don't want to argue with you, bit there is definitely something more to it" Inshal allowed her halo to glow to try and rid some of his stress.
"What are doing?" Marlo sat up in alarm but then his hole body relaxed and his breathing became stable, "it works on me!?".
"I just thought you could use with some of that stress to be lifted" Inshal said and the confused and soft expression showed his thoughts.
"I knew that you had that power, I can sense it on you but... it can work on me?" Marlos tail flicked as his brain obviously was racing.
"It feels better now, doesn't it?" Inshal smiled as the confusion on Marlos face was priceless to her.
"It does but... how powerful are you?" it sounded as if he was asking himself.
"I don't know" Inshal increased the amount of energy in her halo and Marlos confusion left.
"Please don't, it feels weird" Marlo said but he looked as calm as the sea.
"Why? I'm helping you" Inshal tilted her head stopped her halo from calming him.
"I don't like the idea that it works on me, especially when I'm fighting it" Marlo snapped at the last part as the power wore off.
"Well it's a good thing that it works on you, now you don't have to be all stressed all the time" Inshal commented.
"Just get here so we can sleep" he said in his cold tone, he is clearly not amused.
"Alright fine, but I have a few words for you in the morning" Inshal tried to joke but ot sounded as if she was calm and making a point.
"So do I" Marlo muttered under his breath, Inshal decided to ignore it for now and get some sleep, after all she is going to find out later. Inshal has realised that Marlo had a lot more blankets now then before, it felt as if she almost sweeting her body out. Inshal did fall asleep eventually but she did find it hard as first.
"Wake up" Marlo said softly in her ear, it startled her by how his voice was as soft as an angels.
"What? what time is it?" Inshal shot awake and she had to blink multiple times adjust her eyes.
"9 in the morning, sleep well? you have a bit of bed head" Marlo kept his soft voice and Inshal didn't like too much.
"What is wrong with your voice?" Inshal pinned her ears back.
"Nothing" he changed back to his sharp voice, "I just thought you would prefer a softer voice when you wake up" he explained sitting up.
Inshal sat up with him and fixed her fur, "it was wired coming from you, your voice always is deep and cold not soft" she explained in her own soft voice.
"The 'soft' voice fits you nicely" Marlo pat her head, Inshal recoiled and Marlo laughed.
"What? I'm just petting you" he snickered then kissed her neck.
"No, please don't" Inshal tried to move of his lap.
"You didn't mind it back in the cave" he grind, "what's the difference now?" he asked pulling her in close.
"I'm not having sex with you" Inshal answered in a clam voice.
"You could be now" Marlo kissed her neck again and rubbed her sides.
"No, my debt to you is paid of" Inshal pushed his arm away and he let her go.
"Alright but the offer is still there" he crossed his arms then shrugged.
"So you said you had a few words for me right now" Inshla mentioned and his expectation changed from calm to a little surprised.
"You hears that?" he asked as his voice went high pitched.
"Yes, my ears can hear everything in this camp" Inshal explained shrugging.
"Well, you know how I'm the king of the strongest kingdom in the underworld" he started.
"No but continue" Inshal shook her head slightly.
"You didn't?" Marlo had a look that said, 'what the f-ck'. "Well every king has their queen, don't they?" Marlo continued ignoring that she had no idea of who he really is.
"And?" Inshal couldn't truly tell were this was going.
"I need a queen and you seem to be perfect for it" Inshal was shocked, her heart slipped a beat and her jaw dropped. "I must admit I have feelings for you and I can't ignore them" Marlo hugged her in close but Inshal couldn't make eye contact, she felt a new embarrassment but yet she felt a little more in control.
"I... urrrr... ummm" Inshal pushed her knees up to her chest.
"You don't have to answer now, give it time... it is a thoughtful question" Marlo sounded as embarrassed as she felt.
"Right... I need to stretch my wings" Inshal got up, as Marlo didn't resist. She opened the fabric tent door and took to the sky, she saw that not as many demons were out and about in the morning. The egg looked comfy and snug in its little hole that was naturally carved over time of it sitting in the same spot for what seems like millions of years. 'How is it still alive? does it just not die?' Inshal asked herself but then flew of towards the furry town, she wanted to see FunPup. Not only to see her beauty and fluffy belly fluff but to check on her to see how she was doing with the demon blood.
It was a peaceful flight but the bitter cold wind bit her feathers wings and she could see ice crystals forming between her feathers. She saw it eventually, hidden and covered in the trees. She went to the side and waited to see if she can catch her. Inshal snapped her attention to the large building, she saw FunPup go into before, when she detected movement. It wasn't FunPup though, it was the younger furry, Inshal decided to get her to get FunPup for her. Inshal flew quietly behind the buildings, she sneaked up as close as she could but every time she got close a furry came around the corner. After a long while, the young furry went into an alley and she was alone.
"Hello" she called out to her, the furry turned around the look of confused, shock filled her face.
"Hello...?" she tilted her head at her.
"I'm Inshal, you are?" Inshal kept to the shadows, out of the view of unwanted eyes.
"Willow, what... who are you?" Willows spoke softly but Inshal could sense the fear in her.
"I just want to see how FunPup is reacting to the demon blood, how is she? do you know?" Inshal asked, she tried to keep her voice as soft as possible as to not startle her.
"Well she is no longer a fletchling" Willow started, "and she seems to be acting fine, a little stressed then anything" Willow explained, shacking a little.
"There's no need to be scared, I won't hurt you" Inshal spoke and took a step back to make her a little more comfortable.
"So, do you need to see her?" Willow asked moving backwards slowly.
"I don't need to but it would be best" Inshal nodded, "you don't mind taking me to her?" Inshal asked.
"Oh umm... ok this way" Willow pointed, it was rather busy to where she was suggesting.
"I don't mean to be rude but I can't be seen by the public, I don't know how they will react" Inshal declined her suggestion.
"Of course, sorry" Willow shook her head and smiled awkwardly.
"It's ok, you didn't know" Inshal smiled kindly. Willow took her back to the large building but kept her hidden.
"This is the apartment block, she is on the second floor, door on the right" Willow gave her the instructions.
"What?" Inshal got easily confused with the directions.
"Let me take you" Willow suggested, Inshal nodded and they dashed in, it was quite in there and after climbing a set of stairs Willow opened one of the doors.
"Willow?" FunPup called out from one of the back rooms.
"Yeah it's me, I have someone who is looking for you" Willow called back.
"Who?" FunPup asked emerging from the back, rubbing her wet fur with a towel, "Inshal?" she questioned.
"Right I have to leave or I'll be late" Willow said then dashed out.
"So, is something wrong?" FunPup asked, inviting her to sit down.
"I just wanted to check up on you, every vampire has a different reaction" Inshal said softly, she couldn't help but stare into FunPups eyes, they were a rich brown and had a shine to them.
"Well now I'm not a fletchling, so is that normal" FunPup pinned her ears back and bared her teeth.
"They are beautiful" Inshal commented, "you don't get that many shiny thangs that are not chiped" Inshal wanted to complement her.
"Great so now I'm at risk of poachers" FunPup snapped her head away from her.
"No that's not what I said" Inshal reached for a hug.
"No" FunPup smacked her hand away, "you promised me that I don't have to worry about my vampire side, but now I'm even more at risk" she began to cry again.
"You need a hug?" Inshal didn't wait for an answer and allowed her halo to glow and FunPup embraced her hug and sobbed into her chest.
"What is that?" FunPup asked pushing away, "you control me, you do something" she stressed, Inshal put mote energy into her halo.
"No, my halo calms anyone down, you are stressed so let me rid some of it away" Inshal explained and hugged her in. Inshals heart felt warm and it felt like it was melting. "I love you" she whispered softly.
"What?" FunPup sat up wiping her tears, "no, I have a girlfriend, Willow the fox that took you here" she explained.
"Oh, sorry I shouldn't have" Inshal turned away embarrassed. 'What was I thinking?' Inshal scolded herself.
"Please leave" FunPup said, "I don't want to see you right know, to me you lied to me" she snifiled.
"I didn't, I helped you" Inshal couldn't help but rais her voice.
"No, you didn't now leave" FunPup ordered politely, "please, I want to be alone right now".
"Right" Inshal left the building then sneaked away form the town.
Her heart hurt, she wanted to burst and she felt betrayed. Inshal stopped in the middle of the forest and thought things through, she used her halo to calm herself and she forced herself not to think about it. 'Newlaw even said that I can't, it could never have worked' Inshal reminded herself.
