For the past three hours my ears have been filled with the sound of rain falling above my head. Lying on my bed watching the water trickle down my window is a rubbish pastime, but there's nothing to do in this place…
"Knock Knock Knock"
"Oh, come in"
"Prince Karlos your Mother is waiting for you down stairs. "
"Thank you Veronica, tell her I'll be there shortly"
"As you wish Young Master"
I flop back down onto my bed. What does she want? I've stayed out of the way for months, I haven't caused any trouble. The last time I saw her was at my Uncle's Wedding three months ago.
But nonetheless I have to go.
My feet are wobbling as I reluctantly hunch down the stairwell to the dinning hall.
It's the biggest room in the castle, with high ceilings and stained glass windows towering above the 50 person table. But my favorite part is the giant clock hung above the whole room. The only thing missing from it's grandeur is the fact that it hasn't been working in years and no one could be bothered to fix it.
And just as I wonder if with the right skills and patience I might be able to get it working again myself. A loud booming voice puts a knife through my train of thought.
"Karlos" said a voice I knew all too well "You're late, the maid asked you to come down fifteen minutes ago."
