Chapter 7 - Chapter 07- First Battle

After getting her cursed techniques, Sachiko started to spend more time training everyday. She would try to use Possibility to see the probabilities in percentage form and how accurate they were. After a few months, Sachiko was sure that the percentages she would see were always accurate and if she tried to see something out of her current capabilities, she would simply fail to see it in the first place.

This brought an idea to Sachiko's mind.

'Maybe I can use Possibility to predict my opponent's moves in a fight as well. I can only use it to see how likely they are going to do a certain move but there's still room for development.' She thought.

With a direction in mind, Sachiko trained not only her Possibility, but also manipulation of cursed energy with the help of her Cursed Energy Control. She also did some endurance training for herself which only included running till she felt like she was dying.

Not a very pleasant experience but being a toddler had some advantages like never-ending energy rush and she would rarely experience intense muscle pain.

Sachiko called that toddler adrenaline.

But, jokes aside, Sachiko could feel that she was getting stronger with her training. She was now physically even stronger than Yumi who was almost seven years old and that was only physically. With the use of cursed energy, Sachiko was confident that she would be several times stronger.

And, naturally, she felt like she had to start testing out her strength on at least Grade -4 curses.

So, Sachiko went to her mother who was cleaning the kitchen and asked with her good baby face which Misako could never say no to, "Mom, can I go play outside? It's just so sunny and looks so much fun to play!"

As she expected, Misaki smiled softly at that, "Go on, but don't go too far from the house, okay?"

"Okay!" Sachiko waved Misaki bye before running out of the house. Now that Misaki gave her permission to go out, she decided to go check some area a bit far from her house because there really wasn't many curses around the house and it was obvious that they all were below Grade 4.

So, she decided to head to some other place which would be more crowded with curses and she ended up in front of the cemetery.

As soon as she stepped closer, Sachiko felt the change in concentration of cursed energy in the air. It was heavier and the area was basically infested with cursed energy.

"Finally, some worthy curses to go all out!" Sachiko was excited to finally have a great fight with some actual curses than a bunch of boring flyheads.

As she walked into the cemetery, she felt that the cursed energy was getting a bit thicker with every step. The curses here would defintely be a lot stronger than the flyheads she killed before.

Sachiko reinforced her body with cursed energy as she walked further into and activated her Possibility to see how likely she was to get ambushed.

It was zero percent, which made her a bit more relaxed.

She still didn't stop using her cursed technique and tried to find the location of the nearest curse. Again, she could only see the percentages than actual scenarios for now so she had to point out a direction and see the probability of a curse nearby.

That was a little tricky as she was using cursed energy to protect herself at the same time but Sachiko knew she was managing better than before.

After a few more steps, Sachiko finally saw something that resembled a slimy monster on one of the graves.

"GAA..GAA..GA.."

The curse mumbled as it saw Sachiko.

Now that Sachiko had her cursed energy control techinque which helped her understand and manipulate cursed energy in detail, she could see the strength of curses a lot more clearly.

"This is a grade four...no..a semi-grade 3 curse?"

Sachiko quickly gathered cursed energy in her fists and charged towards the curse. At the same time, she was using Possibility to predict the curse's moves. She found that it was more difficult to use probability percentages in a real-time battle and she couldn't use it constantly to predict every move. At least not for now.

So, Sachiko had to dodge and keep some distance while she tried to figure out how to land a final blow to kill it. The curse was definitely weaker than her, Sachiko noted, but this was actually her first battle and so her combat sense was almost non-existent.

However, as she kept dodging a few weak blows of cursed energy by the curse, she understood the pattern of the curse's cursed energy flow and how it attacked.

'Is it because of my Cursed Energy Control technique?' Sachiko knew that with this information, she could deal the final blow easily. But, she still wanted to practise Incorporating Possibility in her battles and so she decided to play with the curse for a while.

Now that she knew how it attacked, Sachiko didn't feel threatened by it anymore. The semi-grade 3 curse was now a punching bag for her.

Sachiko continued to study its cursed energy pattern and at the same time, used Possibility to predict its moves in real time. She tried to reuse the information she could get from her Cursed Energy Control and use that to narrow down the specifics to use Possibility on.

After half an hour or so, she could successfully use Possibility to predict more of the curse's moves even without simultaneous use of her other cursed technique.

"Well, I'm taking a little too much time so let's end it here!" Sachiko said to the curse as she sent a blast of cursed energy to finish it off.

The ground shook a little too hard because of the impact of her cursed energy and she even heard some cracking noises from the graves.

When the noise stopped and the smokes cleared, Sachiko saw that at least ten graves nearby were destroyed.

"Ah..I messed up with the output again. Should've used Cursed Energy Control to get a clear glimpse of how much I'm using but too late now, I guess...." Sachiko muttered when she saw the destruction she just caused. She thought she got a lot better at managing the output of cursed energy but apparently, she was wrong.

She looked at the surroundings like a worried criminal and only when she saw no one around, she let out a sigh.

Getting caught red-handed for destroying people's graves was not on her bucket list after all.

"Well..I guess I should leave the scene as well..If anyone shows up, that'd be troublesome."

A/N:

Sachiko levelled up to destroying graves 😂

Anyway, what's your thoughts on this chapter?

Do you think her personality changed from the original ver? Or do you think this is a detailed version of how she came to be? I'm curious if my writing actually portrays how I want it to.
