Chapter 257 - Day 257: Barn (III)

/Wednesday, Spring 22/6:00 AM/

[Sleeping skill, increased.]

And just listening to that, it was pretty obvious the fact that it signaled the start of a new day for Blake...

"Thanks for helping me wake up, system." Yes, that had started as a normal morning... But instead of hearing Blake's typical insults towards the intangible being known to him as "system", a few words of thanks had come out of him… Which was pretty weird to say the least.

Blake had sat on his comfortable bed and then began to stretch a bit before welcoming the new day ahead. The day before had been quite lively, but when he got home after the catwalk and saw the time, he had the idea of entering the dungeon of the Sharance labyrinth that was for his current level.

There was nothing really important to mention, he beat a few monsters, collected some materials, leveled up his skills, and beat the boss which again turned out to be a huge troll, although this time he didn't use the timeless slash and just made use of the Ragna's runic abilities carefully, which made him emerge victorious, but somewhat tired, perfect for going to sleep directly.

Blake finished putting on his boots as well as fixing his hair a bit, which reminded him of Monica's words about taking care of it more, but he didn't have a good way to do it right now…

The idea in Blake's mind was clear, he went down the stairs to the bottom floor of the Sharance tree so that later the view of the cultivated fields appeared in his sight, so it was not strange what would happen next.

A large amount of cherry grass still in a state of growth was watered by him quite diligently. Now Blake was enjoying a cool glass of apple juice running down his throat, which made his tiredness disappear as the lost runic energy returned to his body little by little... Although it was a bit of a strange sight as Blake's hands Blake were being covered by ice claws since he had used them to cool the juice from before…

"That felt good…" He breathed a sigh of relief after putting the empty glass back into his inventory without caring about the fact that these were created out of thin air whenever he made apple juice… "Hmm… I think I need one bigger watering can… I wonder if there is something like a dimensional watering can."

Blake was thinking about it seriously, but he didn't know that his attention would be drawn to a situation that came into his sight and was not too far from his current position.

The sound of his own footsteps was combined with the calm atmosphere of the place, it could be said that this was a rather curious characteristic of the Sharance tree and that Blake was already aware of it, and it was that, inside and around the Sharance tree, a quite unique tranquility was always present, so much so that if someone angry came a little, that person would not take long to calm down and enjoy the atmosphere of the surroundings, and although that did not have much effect the time that Blake faced the raccoon, perhaps it was precisely what had caused what he was seeing to unfold at this moment.

"Gaius..." Blake had crouched down a bit and then tried to move Gaius's body since he was totally asleep next to the small water source that was near the crops.

As always, Blake had to try harder to get his attention to make the hope of Gaius awakening more positive, and it paid off pretty quickly this time.

"Good morning." Gaius had just opened his eyes after a pleasant night's sleep, he was also about to stretch and rub his eyes a bit to wake up completely, but he had seen Blake's figure next to him and it didn't take long for him to wake up and gave that simple greeting.

"Good morning to you too, but... What were you doing sleeping down here?" Blake hadn't ignored Gaius's words and greeted him in kind, but he couldn't ignore the curiosity now on his mind.

"I told you that I would have your barn finished first thing in the morning and that's what I did... So if you'll excuse me..." And with that said, Gaius closed his eyes so that afterward the only thing that could be heard from him was a small snoring of peace of mind, which made Blake no longer bother him.

For his part, he let his gaze travel around until he concentrated on one of the corners of the field. Before there was nothing in that place, but now he could see what was easily comparable to a small cabin made of wood.

Maybe small was not the correct way to define it, but that seemed like it compared to the size of the place that the Sharance tree provisioned, but the reality was that it was quite large since the door alone was almost more than twice the height of Blake, and that was possible because the barn was made even for fairly large monsters to inhabit.

The front part was quite simple, the main door was made of wood like most of the construction and it opened to both sides since it was cut in half with a vertical line like a typical bar door from the Wild West. At the top there was a triangular-shaped roof that was not strange to see and on one side of the door was a huge hole that seemed to have some kind of purpose that Blake didn't fully understand.

"Well, I planned to bring a small monster for now, so I guess there won't be any problems regarding space." Although Blake would like some kind of explanation about the barn's features, he didn't want to disturb Gaius's sleep, but that didn't take away the fact that he also wanted to investigate on his own, so he raised his arm and pushed the door slightly to enter that peculiar construction, waiting for what he would find inside.
