Chapter 214 - Day 214: Monstrous problems (IV)

Contrary to everyone else, Blake didn't pay any attention to what had happened since he was quite busy with the situation at hand, he had been able to recover the wool that he was able to cut from the huge wooly and put it inside the sack that they had given him. He was still holding tightly to the other wool that was on its body and taking advantage of that, Blake soon cut another piece just as big as the previous one.

'If I keep going like this, I think I'll be able to come back a bit.' That was the quick thought that had popped into Blake's head.

The new performance that he had shown made the public get excited again, they had already seen how the other participants had been able to cut some wool by putting all their effort into it, but nobody showed something similar to the idea of climbing on top of the huge monster to do it.

And returning to the battlefield, after Blake put away the new piece of wool, he had to work again not to fall off the huge wooly since it had begun to shake quite abruptly.

Before that, the loud bleating that had come out of wooly could be heard because, again, it was aware of the wool it had lost, it was not because it felt pain, everyone knew that the "tools" of the participants didn't hurt him, rather it was because the huge wooly got enraged for having Blake on top of it.

This was fully reflected once its erratic movements became even stronger, and this itself had made it almost impossible for Blake to try to stay on top of it.

"I think at least this isn't something we see every day; it looks like the festival just turned into some kind of rodeo!" Collette herself was trying her best to cope with the strange situation that the event had become, and hearing the screams from the audience, she knew that it was still safe.

"Hold on tight, brother Blake!" In the center of the Plaza, Ragna ignored her situation for a bit to give Blake some encouragement. If asked, Ragna would say that he was enjoying the festival a lot even though it was his first time, he had already been infected with the festive atmosphere of the place, and although he was confident in himself and wanted to win, he was not underestimating others participants, but even so, he was somewhat busy with the huge number of woolies preventing him from getting more wool.

"That should be against the rules!" On the other hand, Sakuya was complaining a bit when she saw how Blake took a large amount of wool with great ease, although his annoyance was also produced by the woolies that did not stop harassing her. It wasn't his first time at the festival, he had already been in this kind of situation in the past, but now, it seemed that she was being the center of attention of most of the little monsters.

Some of the other participants also gave their opinion or support on the matter, but all of that was lost due to the shouts of the public. It seemed that Blake would manage to stay on top of the wooly since he put a lot of effort into holding on, but in the end, it could only be seen how his body went flying through the air to fall heavily against the ground, but despite that, Blake was able to land perfectly and did not want to waste that opportunity.

At that moment, he had a clear enough path to face the huge wooly alone, and it seemed that the latter had also become aware of the threat that was Blake, or so it thought.

It had only been a second since their gazes locked on each other before Blake was the first to move without warning, his speed was quite fast, but still, his figure could be seen by most of those present.

Just like Sakuya and Ragna, Blake had also reduced his force, it was something Shino told him once he got used to his power, so he wasn't cheating in any way, and he wouldn't even think about it since Shino said that she had caught him using rök during the previous events, though Blake was spared as he said he wasn't really aware he was doing it.

Going back to the show from before, Blake had run precisely in the direction of the wooly to get more wool, he was also not aware of the amount that the other participants managed to get, but since he saw more wool on top of the wooly, there was only something that he should do.

"Sounds like someone doesn't want to back down or maybe is underestimating his opponent, but you have to admit that Blake is cheering for the event's final stage like no other! Don't you think?" Collette followed her role perfectly, and her question was directed at the new partner next to her.

"You said so yourself, Collette. Although I hope no one gets hurt at the last moment, this is not the time to worry about that, all the remaining contestants had better do their best to be the winner, maybe luck is not enough to decide everything!" And despite the somewhat concerned attitude from the beginning, it was undeniable to say that the comments of Collette's new partner livened up the atmosphere even more.

Rusk had already been sent to the nursing tent after the little "accident" he had been through, and now, just by looking at that orange-haired figure with various flowers on it, many would guess that the replacement was the friendly mayor's granddaughter.

While that was happening, the moment had occurred where Blake had again come within a short distance of the wooly, now was when he realized how much his abilities had progressed since, in addition to the speed with which he had moved, his reflexes helped him a lot too.

But Blake didn't have a chance to brag about it since, the people who were concentrating on the huge wooly could see that, the instant Blake had approached, the wooly raised its paw and threw it against him.

This was the typical scene that everyone was used to as this was how many participants were forced to fly away or ended up unconscious with no chance to taste the sweet taste of victory.

But contrary to what many expected, things would be a little different. Just when the wooly's attack was about to fall on Blake's figure, a characteristic green glow could be seen so that the next moment there was a simple image that everyone could appreciate.

The wooly's arm had hit completely nothing, but the most important thing about that scene was that all the wool that was still on its arm had disappeared while, a short distance from it, that wool was in the hands of the person responsible for cutting it, and that was none other than Blake while a simple smile adorned his face.
