A Week before the first semester of college, Real was already in the his boarding house waiting for the first day of school. After he enrolled,.he can't go home because of having small.amount of money, instead of going home, he saved his money for the next coming days. In his room, he had a room mate named Nicole, a boy with a girl's name. They become friends since they were the first students arrived in the house.
While they were getting to know each other, Real asked Nicole," Nicole, if you don't mind, can I sometimes borrow your phone? for me to contact my neighbour to talk to my father, because neither he had no phone, and is it okay that I will use your number so that my father can send my allowance? Nicole replied with a smile, "Sure, you can use this one whenever you need it. Here, contact you father so that he will be updated about your situation".
Real was so happy, holding the phone while dialing gis neighbours number to talk to his father. His neighbour answered, "Hello, may I knoe who is this? Real replied, "This is me aunt, Real, are you busy today aunt? No Real, I am free. You want to talk to your father? Yes aunt, pleaassssee.. His neighbour replied," Sure, not a problem, just wait, I will go to your house.
His neighbour knocked on their home and said loudly, "Uncle! Uncle! Uncle! Real is on the phone, he wanted to talk to you. His father immediately go out and replied," Really? is that Real? may I talk to him for a minute? Their neighbour replied with a smile, "Sure uncle just take you precious time. Just call.me if you need help operating the phone". Real's father replied, "thank you very much".
Real's father is innocent operating phone since he did not have one way back then.
Real's Father: Real! is this you?
Real: Yes father, this me, Real!
Real's Father: How are you? why so long to reach me? I am so worried about you.
Real: Sorry father, I just borrowed a phone from my room mate.
Real's father was so happy talking to his son and Real shared his experience in his journey in the enrollment. His father was so happy that he did enroll to the course he wanted for his son.
After they talked to each other, it's time to say goodbye and Real's father reminded his son to always pray to God amd contack him if he needed money for his study. Real felt lonely and missed his father and his father felt the same.
Sunday, a day before the first day of school, Real bought a pairs of ready to wear school uniform and a pair of shoes for it is affordable than the customized uniforms.
First day of school arrived, there were many students looking for there rooms and waiting for their instructors. Some of the rooms scheduled in Real's official enrollment form were TBA and freshmen thought that TBA means To be Absent. They were all laughing when they know at TBA's meaning is To Be Arrange.
Real was on adjusment stage, since the schedule of college class was so different in highschool. College made you honed your time management skills at the same time improving multitasking skills.
Finally, Real's room was arrange and they met few of their instructors. As usuall, their first day of class was intended for getting to know classmatesnand subject instructor.
The day end, Real went to his boarding house by walking. He walked 800 meters in the morning back and forth, and 800 meters in the afternoon back and forth because he used to had his launch in the boarding house.
Real was having struggle in budgeting his allowance for a week or two. His weekly allowance was only $10 and he wanted to budget as far as he can, because he knew that his father is earning his allowance very hard and he knew that his father was using salt as viand and budgeting a kilo of rice in a day or two. When this situation came to his mind, he always cried and pray to God for the safety and blessings of his father.
His father will be the one to call his son first, because Real doesn't want to call first even just to asked about his father's condition for he knows that when the phone rings because of son's call it will immediately gave pressure to a parent because for sure it will be an alowance or financial support for the study.
Real's father call and asked, " Is this the room mate of my son Real"? Real's room mate replied, yes uncle, just a minute, I will call real. He is doing laundry today". Real's father replied, "thank you so much".
Nicole called Real and said, " Real your father is on the phone! Real was so happy hearing the news of his roomate. Real immediately ran and told Nicole, " thank you so much, sorry for the disturb". Nicole replied," not a problem, just take your time to talk to your father". Real said, " father, how are you? are you not doing some skip meals? do you? I know you used to have a salt for your viand, please don't do that. Take care of your self, it some nutritious food, don't worry I have still a money left, Real uttered even he had nothing left.
Real's father replied and smile with tears on his eyes, " I am doing well son, I called 'cause I want to know your situation, I will also send your allowance and pay for your rent. Real replied, "Thank you so much dad, I know it is hard for you right now, I promised to do my best in my study and please take care of your self, rest if you are tired, eat healthy food and do not worry so much. I will always doing fine here. Their call ended with a good bye, missing each other. Parents will always prioritize their sons and daughters, they will do anything for their family. It doesn't matter for their self, what matters the most is their family. On the next chapter, we'll what happened to his mother and father's relationship.
