Second semester arrived and Real went back to his boarding house. That was year 2014, when the boarders noticed that their boarding house was started to be the hide out of drug addicts, those who used illegal drugs like shabu went their to have their own sessions, they can't even use their own rooms, because when they arrived from school, addicts already occupied the space.
Drugs, girls and any vices were occupied to the rooms, they sleep outside of their rooms because when they peaked on a small hole, drug sessions and sex happened. Their rooms became an illegal club. Some of you asking why it was happening that they were the one who rent the rooms, and the answer was the addicts were brotherhood of the owner in a specific fraternity. Nothing they can do because if they insisted, there would be a possibility that their life would be in danger.
They decided to transfer a boarding house, his friend and boardmate Jaymar suggested a room to rent, that was very secured and Real too had suggestion. When they first visit Jaymar's prospect boarding house it was the same as Real suggested. So, they boarded on a boarding house full of scholars of goverment, approximately 40 plus of good students renting in the said boarding house paid by the government. Although, those students were bully but in good ways, jokers, friendly and most of all, study were their first priority. After they transferred to there new boarding house, they decided to removed nails and weekend the foundation of each bed, because they knew, sex would happened, drug sessions would occured.
Days passed by, Real knew that their landlord had a wood factory, it made logs to finished woods of 2x2 and different measurements especially for home constructions. One day his landlord asked the boarders, "Who are willing to go with me to my wood factory? Although we will walk a very long distance along the forests but you can earn money and it can help your daily needs.
Real was one of the students who went with their landlord. They arrange the finished products, bundled, carry with a long distance and they load it on two wing vans. They were going to load the finished products at 2:00 a.m since it was illegal. After the loading, their landlord gave there part and they were very happy that they earned money that can be added to their allowance.
Real became the righthand of his landlord, he became the runner, to buy anything needed in exchange of free rent every month, free food and even with a small allowance. The offer had a big help to his study that was why he grab the oppurtunity.
Everyday, after every class, Real immediately changed dress from his boarding house and went to the wood factory as daily routine, and there he sleeped to guard finished products, together with jaymar and their landlord. He studied his exam in the forest and made his projects there. In every weekends he stayed in the wood factory to assisst his landlord.
One semester exam was approaching and Real needs to pay his school obligation if he wasn't able to, he cannot take his exams. He was so worried how to pay his obligations, he approaced his instructors, but no one can help him until, he approached Miss Erna and said," Ma'am, good morning, can I ask help from you ma'am? Ms. Erna replied," sure, what is it?
Can you help me about my tuition fee in the school maam? a promisory note would do. If I wasn't able to pay this after a month, it will be deducted to your salary, but I promise ma'am, I will pay for it. Sorry to disturb you about this maam but I know that you are so kind."
Without a doubt, Ms. Erna grab a pen, wrote and signed the promisory note and said," I know you can graduate, do your best! Real was so happy running to the school's cashier office and showed the promisory note and he was able to take the exam. Ms. Erna was Real's Mathematics Profesor, she was very kind and closed to Real, as he found potentials on the student.
Real was so happy reporting to his father that he was able to take the exam and his father cried that a person helped his son and said, "don't worry son, I will not allow that the school will deduct her salary, I will find a way and please son if you finished your college and got a job, invite her sometimes in our house, so that we can thank her.
Exam days arrived and Real secured a clearance that allowed him to take the exams. Real passed all the exam and report it to Ms. Erna. "Maam, I am able to take the exam because of you, don't worry ma'am, I will pay the obligation later", and he smiled. He paid his obligation and got back the promisory note, and he kelp it. One day night, exactly 1:00 am he was awoke by his land lady on their boarding house and said, "Real, please accompany your uncle, I will pay you later", and Real asked," where are we going aunt? You are going to release all the logs through the water", his landlady said.
Releasing of logs through water is a type of transportation of logs by water. Logs are connected to each othet with a cable chain and pulled by a boat.
Real with his landlord rode a boat about 15 kilometers and arrived at the location of the logs. He landlord said, Real, please count the logs, it must be 500. Real run the logs on the water counted it, it was so dark that he only uses a small flashlight from a lighter. He counted twice the logs and it was exactly 500. His landlord said, " okay, we are all set, let's go". The lods were pulled by a pumpboat in the front, and real with his landlord stayed on the very end of the logs, since this transportation required assistance at the tail of the logs because the river was curvy.
Real's landlord was amazed that Real knew how to do assisstance on the log when there was a curvy way on the river. He asked,"how did you know on how to do that? Real replied, "when I was out of school youth, this is sometimes out extra work, releasing of thousands of trees from the mountains up to where the logs delivered".
As his landlord looked at him, it still can't believe that in a young age it was able to knew those work that requires skills and experience, and he quoted and looked up the clear sky, "It is indeed, Real, experience is the best teacher".
