I felt my heart drop.
"But...but Kyran, it's only been two days. What do you mean the vet? You can't possibly..."
He smirked. "You sure as hell don't want him to see this."
My gaze flickered to the man who was carrying him. "I am sorry," I said to him. "Please just go in. It's the first around the corner. I will make some calls."
He nodded and continued walking, while I placed a call to the vet, hoping he won't have any one to treat in my house.
I followed behind them, my eyes on the floor.
"I don't think it's advisable to walk that way. You could stumble on a stone, or even a stray bullet."
I looked up. Aaron was standing there, a small smile on his face. For some reason, I found this particular smile creepy, and it gave me the feelings of bugs crawling all over my body.
"What are you doing here?"
