Yuki said goodbye to the students and teachers. It was easy since no one spoke to her. She was sad not because she was leaving because nobody cared. She made sure that her grade got transferred then she went home and packed up her clothes.
" Yuki, are you done?" her father asks as he gave a small knock on the side of the door.
" J-just about." She yell as she closed her suitcase
" A-almost," Yuki said and quickly zipped up her purple suitcase.
"We're leaving now" He informed.
She picked up her suitcase and look at her room one more time before she closed the door. They headed on the highway to their destination and in a few hours they pulled up into their new home. It was the same but the house was a little nice and it was more traditional with a temple. They unpacked and made themselves at home.
The next morning, she put on her uniform that was laying on her bed. She put her head through her white long sleeve shirt, the collar was green with two white stripes. She slide her green skirt up to her waist and zipped it up on the side. She reached into her backpack and found some makeup powder to cover her scars.
" Where's Dad?" She asks and ate a bowl of cereal.
" He had to leave early." her mother said and picked up the dirty dishes from the table." Enjoy your first day of school" She kissed her daughter on the forehead.
" Thanks, Mom," Yuki picked up her backpack and headed out. She followed the GPS on her phone to see where the school was located. She waited in the office to receive her schedule.
" Everyone stays in their homeroom for all subjects but you can choose your electives." the lady said and handed her a sheet to fill out.
Yuki applied for softball and tennis then headed out to her homeroom. She stood outside the door and was afraid to go in. She took a deep breath then entered the classroom.
" Oh my, are you the new transfer student?" the teacher questioned.
Yuki nodded nervously and handed her the schedule.
" Introduce yourself." the teacher said.
Interactions like these were always difficult for Yuki. She face the classroom and her heart felt like it was nearly beating out of her chest. There were more people in the class than she could count. She notice everyone was waiting for her and she knew that she had to make it quick.
" My no-name is Y-Yuki O-Hayashi," She said and bowed her head down." P-please treat me k-kindly." She shuddered.
" What kind of name is Yuki? It sounds like a boy's name." a student blurted.
Yuki's face turn red as a tomato and was very embarrassed. She hoped that she made a good first impression but it's the same as her old school.
" You may sit down in the front, Yuki-chan." the teacher said.
Yuki made her way to her seat and brought out her supplies for the lecture.
" This class is finally an even number!" the teacher exclaimed and was excited." We can do this science project that I always wanted to do-- Everyone partner up"
The students partner up but as always, nobody wanted to be partners with the new student and unfortunately, Yuki was by herself yet again.
" I could've sworn that we had an even number of students" the teacher looked at the chart and did a headcount." Yuki, you can partner up with Kagome."
"K-ka-go-me?" She looked around to see everyone partner up and talking with each other.
" Oh- that's right!" the teacher remembers." Her grandpa said that Kagome is still in the hospital for surgery on her back.-- You have to work by yourself for the time being, if you don't mind. Perhaps, I can make some arrangements and we can do a group of three." She suggested.
" It's fine, I'm u-used to w-working by m-myself." Yuki began to do the science project on her own. As the teacher started to explain the assignment. She lay her head on the desk and looked at the other students that were having fun together. She looked away and felt true loneliness.
"I'm h-home!" Yuki walked through the door and kicked off her flats."
" How was your first day of school, honey?" the mother asked, and could not wait to hear the details.
" It was great! I made so many friends and I love it here!" Yuki forces herself to smile with a cheerful tone. It's weird, you can still have people around you and still feel lonely She thought to herself as she ate dinner with her parents.
