Chereads / My Divine Legacy / Chapter 6 - Berserker

Chapter 6 - Berserker

Lucas and Lily studied their enemies carefully, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, and as the rules stated...

They won't hold back even a wisp of their energy.

The man to the left swapped positions with the woman, it happened so fast Lucas could barely follow them with his eyes.

Lucas saw a counter at the top of the room, sweat ran down his face as he prepared for the fight.

The counter hit one and energies exploded, Lucas lifts his hands, a sword materialized out of thin air, and in a blink Lucas grabbed the hilt.

The sword shone under Lucas's hold, emanating a very dark aura. Lucas focused all his power into the sword, and then the strangest thing happened.

His body started to feel more stronger, he could feel his energy growing rapidly as he touched the sword.

BOOM!

Lucas threw a backflip, landing a few metres back. He lifts his eyes to look at his attacker.

It was the man, and how did he get here? Lucas had no answer for that.

Lucas didn't wait another second, with a speed greater than that of an average human being, Lucas dashed to the man.

He put power into his legs, then, leaped into the air as high as he could without bumping into the ceiling.

"Smash!" Lucas looked down on to the man with a glint of darkness in his eyes, he swung down the blade.

The man tilts his head to the side. The sword crashed on to the earth, a second away from splitting the man in half.

'He is pretty bold, that strike would have really killed someone else. Just who is this monster?' The man thought in awe as he assessed Lucas's strength.

Lucas swiftly swung his sword up, he didn't wait for the man to recover from the sudden strike, but kept slashing at him from different directions.

'A B-Berserker?!" The man was even more impressed.

Berserk ability users were very powerful, their focus on just attack makes them a very formidable foe.

Berserkers weren't able to use defencive abilities, and their ultimate strikes would only activate when they were in danger.

Berserk ultimates are highly destructive, a true berserker could rival the powers of a peasant divinity.

But what the man didn't know was what he was dealing with was not a berserker, but a class greatly higher than that.

He was dealing with a versatile warrior.

Lucas continued coming at the man from all possible sides, hoping to create an opening.

The man immediately saw through Lucas's move, then, proceeded to strike back.

He grabbed the blade of Lucas's sword, his muscles bulged as he struggled to keep his hold, sweat ran down his face which was contorted in pain.

Lucas pushed down with all his might, he seemed to be unstoppable on the outside, but he had already given up internally.

The power struggle continued for a few seconds until Lucas felt too weak to continue, after pushing himself to his brink of power, Lucas collapsed to the ground.

The man heaved a heavy sigh as he lowered his eyes to look down on Lucas who lay on the floor unconscious.

'If that had continued on, I would have really been forced to use my full power. Who in the world is he?'

At the other side of the room, Lily knelt on the floor feigning immense fatigue as she faked a sudden collapse to the ground.

The two people stared at whom they had just fought in shock, if this had continued, they would have been pushed into using their full power.

----

The next day Lucas woke up in a strange white room. He was stripped off his weapons and armour and what's now left is nothing but a plain white cloth.

'Well, that is it for being number one in having a bad taste of fashion.'

Lucas looked around, all he could see except the bed he sat on is white, white walls, floors and roof.

"Lucas Darkzer! You have successfully completed your test, please exit the room as soon as possible." A mechanical voice boomed through out the room.

Lucas had no plans of wasting even a second here, without taking a glimpse back, Lucas dashed out of the room.

Immediately he completely walked past the door, his armour was visible on his body again and his sword was neatly strapped to his side.

"Illusion magic, Eh?" Lucas muttered under his breath.

Lily was already standing by the door waiting for him, her eyes were fixated on a beautiful bird outside the window.

She seemed to be so drowned in her thoughts she didn't even notice me walking towards her.

"Hello?" Lucas whispered playfully, but had at the back of his mind that he was playing with a divine killing machine.

Lily jumped slightly, but she didn't release her suppressed energy this time.

Thank the gods.

Lucas patted Lily on the shoulder, then, walked out of the room with a slight smile on his face.

Lily followed Lucas, she had gotten into the guild, first stage complete...

Now was the difficult part.

Getting stronger.
