Chapter 8 - Hunters vs Goldfurs

Lily nodded slightly, but there was no way she would let it come down to it yet. Not today and maybe not ever.

Lucas smiled, he looked like a child who made some incredible discovery, his eyes were shaped like crescents.

Lily shook her head, she wondered how humans survived like this, Lucas could still make a joke despite the heart shattering words he just uttered.

"We need to go now." Lucas said with a smile.

----

They had arrived at the dungeon gate. The gate was incredibly large, it was completely black and was locked at the time.

"The rules in the dungeons are as follows," A tall man wearing some sort of beast equipment announced to the group of hunters, "You should always stay with your team no matter what. Two, never underestimate your enemies. Three, listen to your seniors and leaders. Four, be extremely cautious, no one knows what a dungeon might hold."

Lucas yawned in boredom, he had listened to the same boring speeches more than a thousand times at his former guild.

Lily wasn't even listening, all her attention was diverted to the sky, she hoped to get stronger.

"Kage must be missing me. Don't worry brother, when I return as chaos dragon, you won't have to be sad ever again."

Suddenly Lucas pats her on the shoulder, signalling for her to get ready.

The tall man turned to face the gate, his eyes were fixed on the lock which was swirling rapidly.

Lucas held the hilt of his sword, a flicker of determination was seen in his blue eyes as he stared at the gate.

Lily edged closer to Lucas, her head hung low as possible as she was maddened for being unable to use her full strength.

BOOM!

The lock explodes. The gate groaned open at snails pace.

Everyone slowly advanced further into the dungeon, they all had their weapons or powers ready.

Lucas walked into the dungeon with Lily by his side, and they were greeted by darkness.

"How many light crystals do we have?" Someone in the darkness spoke in a calm voice.

"About ten, each at level two." Another person replied casually.

Lucas didn't need any source of light, somehow he could see perfectly in the darkness.

They were currently in a cave like dungeon, bloodstains were on the walls and roof, seemingly from the last expedition into this dungeon.

The light crystals were powered on. Lucas almost jumped as the area was lit up in a red light.

"This would be enough." The tall man from outside the gate said.

"Healers will stay behind the Berserkers, archers and Mages will stay behind the Knights, while the Tanks will stay at the sides." Someone was explaining to his team in a calm tone.

Lucas and Lily both advanced deeper into the dungeon, they both had extraordinary eyesight which helped them to navigate easier in the dungeon.

About three miles away from the group, a pack of demon wolves came running at them.

They were Goldfur wolves. Their golden fur gives them an amazing amount of defence and also a great amount of mobility.

"Lucas, something is heading in our way, about eight, ten of them!" Lily whispered loudly enough for Lucas to hear.

"Demons!" A mage yelled from behind, fear was written all over his face.

"Demons? But this is just a regular black gate!" The tall man said with a frown.

The mage from earlier had an affinity for chaos, thus, he was able to sense anything unholy around him.

The goldfur wolves had a high affinity for the chaos element, so high that a high ranked goldfur could actually perform chaos magic.

The wolves had now reached the group, baring their fangs, they all prepared to strike.

"Attack!"

The entire group immediately got into action, swinging sword's, casting spells, firing arrows.

Lucas walked past all the wolves, anyone in his way would be cut down by his trusty Darksteel.

He had a feeling that the wolves were just a distraction, something used to stall the rest while the real enemy prepared themselves.

"The boss must be really intelligent." Lucas remarked with a smile on his face.

Lily immediately grabbed Lucas's arm, restricting him from moving further, she felt something lurking in the darkness ahead.

"What?!" Lucas snapped, annoyance on his face.

"Something deadly is down there." Lily replied nodding off to the right with a slight frown on her face.

Lucas felt shivers run down his spine as he looked at the place.

It was unnaturally darker than the rest of the dungeon, and if he could see what Lily was seeing, he would have second thoughts of just charging into the real nest.

Lily could clearly see a community of high levelled twisters, and when she put more focus, she could see the boss of this dungeon.

A huge twister the size of a truck sat on a huge rocky throne carved out of the earth by his subjects.

Lucas had unconsciously powered up his sword, making it to glow in a bright purple light.

Lily frowned deeply.

Some stray twisters began to approach them, groaning and moaning as they staggered towards Lucas and Lily.

Lily frowned as she looked closely at the twisters, each of them had already broken through and were now awakened.

Lucas held his sword tightly, his eyes starting to dilate, waiting for a particular text to pop up before his eyes.

[Beginner's Luck Activated!]

Lucas smiled.
