Chapter 3 - Home

Lucas walked home with Lily, the walk home was long and silent, Lily wasn't the type that spoke much.

Thank the gods.

"Wait."

She stopped walking, my eyes narrowed, the temperature dropped a few degrees as a shiver ran down my spine.

"What are you doing?" Lucas asked apparently struggling to get back his control of his own body.

Lily's palms glowed, azure blue flames rose around her, she sniffs at the right, the with quick reflexes darts to my side.

"Mind Power, I am trying to scare off that thing coming at us." She growled, nodding her head to the right, and curling her fingers into fists.

"Uh..." Lucas points to the sky, his eyes glowed as his vision improved, he furrowed his brows, the glow brightens.

The silhouette of a man with a pair of wings hovered in the sky, a sword held in his hands and a cape fluttering behind him.

Lily faced her palm to the sky, azure flames erupts around her hand as she frowned to the stranger.

"Chaos dragon, you ally yourself with human?" His voice was primordial, emotionless and cruel, his form mystic, the aura around him was completely dark.

"I and my brother shall not succumb to the emperor!" Lily growled, her eyes fixed on the man who merely scoffed.

"Royalty, that is what you are!" He thundered, voice hoarse, tone grim.

Lucas frowned, whoever that is, if it came down to it, will not be able to be taken down easily.

The man floats down, gracefully landing on the ground, his sword immediately sheathed as he lifts his head to look at Lucas and Lily.

Lucas felt a sense of danger at that look, the eyes of a chaos warlord, the eyes of death incarnate.

Lily bared her fangs, the green in her eyes turning gold as she growled harshly.

"Leave the human out of this." Lily vigilantly locked eyes with the warlord, her teeth shone brightly as she suddenly smiled.

"What is funny?" The man softly asked, looking at Lily with disdain.

"You are about to be sorry for ruining my mood." She uttered casually, her soothing voice echoes throughout the street.

"Avatar of Chaos."

----

Lucas's face paled, his eyes dilated as he looked up to the monster before him, and the words rang in his head.

Chaos Dragon, Chaos Dragon, Chaos Dragon.

The gigantic replica of Lily stood before her, armed with a huge spear and armored from head to toe, it was cloaked in a thick layer of azure flames, ruby red eyes staring down to the stranger.

Lily smiled, she didn't want to pick a fight at first, but this insect was asking for trouble indeed.

The avatar of Lily smiled, it elongated metal canines, it immediately locked eyes with the stranger awaiting it's next order from Lily.

"Well do you still want to fight?"

----

The man turned his back and in a blink disappeared into thin air.

Lily chuckled, her avatar shrank down to a little gem no bigger than a child's fist, it glowed brightly as Lily touched it.

"Well now what?" Lucas sighed, he had seen enough for today, he needed to get back home to his sibling, his family.

"I take it that you were heading home?" She lifted her eyebrow, her mouth quirks to the side as her eyes narrowed to a slit.

Definitely not the talkative type.

"What?" Lily asked with a shrug, "I don't have anywhere else to go anyway, and we still need to talk." She said with a slight smile on her face.

Lucas shook his head.

Not cool.

---

Lucas froze, his hands on the door knob, eyes fixed on the red mat which he stood on, he sighed.

Knock, just knock.

He lifts his hand then...

Knock. Knock. Knock.

The door creaked open, a young girl about fourteen stood by the door side, eyes watery as she stared at the man before her.

His jet-black hair, royal blue eyes, fair skin, calm expression, the only person whom she treasures just like her mother.

"Lu-Lucas?" She choked, tears of joy ran down her face as she stared at her brother in awe.

They had almost declared him dead, she couldn't believe it, her big brother was 'dead' they had told her mother. She stood without averting her gaze, ignoring the blue haired girl besides her brother.

"Rebecca." He managed, a dry lump formed in his throat as he smiled, he had thought he would never see this face again.

Rebecca hugged Lucas tightly, crying audibly on Lucas's shirt, her eyes hurt, but she didn't stop.

Lucas patted her head, eyes watery as he held his sister in his arms.

"Eh-hem." Lily coughed awkwardly as she fixed her emerald eyes on Lucas and his sister.

"Excuse me, but who are you?" Rebecca asked, she wouldn't have said it in such a manner if had had felt the power spike in Lily when she spoke.

"I am Lily and you are?"

"Rebecca." Rebecca extends her hand for a handshake with a smile.

"Your brother still hasn't introduced himself." Lily announced as she took Rebecca's hand and shook it.

"It's Lucas." Lucas sighed as he glared at Lily, he smiled slightly as he spoke, "Well, I don't remember saying that at at."

Rebecca smiled.

"Can we go in?" Lucas inquires as he stared at his sister with a soft smile.

"Of course." Rebecca ushers them in, her expression bright as she lead the way into the house.

Lucas swiftly took his sister's hand, he wanted one more thing...

"How is mother doing." Lucas asked, concern in his voice as he looked down on Rebecca.

"Fine, she had improved since the last vial given to her." Rebecca lowered her head to the floor, she had been thinking of how to do all this alone, taking care of her mother, taking care of herself...She still cannot understand how her brother did all this alone for years.

"You should rest." Lucas advised with a smile as he released the grip he had on his sister's arm.

"Yeah, we can talk tomorrow." That was the only word she uttered as she strode off to her room, genuinely tired.

Lucas watched as his sister went into her room then slams the door behind her shut.

"We need to talk, human." Lily growled, her voice hinted danger as Lucas groaned.

"About what?"

A pause.

"The reason I came here. "

---

Lily sat crossed legged on Lucas's couch, her head bowed, eyes fixed on to the ground, stealthy, firm.

"Start talking, now." Lucas demanded, his eyes fixed on the blue haired warlock queen as he sat down on the bed.

"Well you heard that man, I need to return home to join the order of chaos, but..." Lily lifts up her head, her eyes watered, she lowered her head again.

"But you are not strong enough to face the court." Lucas mused, eyes lowered, he frowned.

"Well there is a way." She said at last, without lifting her head.

"What?"

"I could join a guild with you, maybe we could help each other out." Lily offered.

"What will I get in return?" Lucas wasn't an idiot, he knew what the Queen would gain, but will be his profit.

"You will be strong enough to harness my power." Lily grimly answered, lifting her head slowly.

"And..."

"If I evolve, I could be your partner." Lily smiled softly, her green eyes glowed.

"Well, it's a deal, go to sleep."
