Chapter 11 - Mecidine

A knock on the door startles me, Alice sits up as the sunlight sprays in from the door.

"Alice, please come with us." Doctor Silas asked.

"What about me?" I questioned.

"Someone is bringing you clothes and shoes Christian, please wait here," Silas replied.

Looking down I quickly realized how I am dressed becoming embarrassed, I sat back down.

"It's okay Christian, we will be back soon," Alice said with a snicker.

I tear up acknowledging I won't be relegated to the bedroom like some prize to be claimed.

Another knock has me get up to check who is at the door, standing before me is a pretty slender young woman with dark green hair in a ponytail.

She was dressed as a nurse in green scrubs holding a change of clothes and a pair of shoes on top, she waves for me to follow her behind.

"You want me to change somewhere else?" I asked.

"It's time to get ready for your clan leader Christian." She says with a smile.

We walked silently down a very long corridor, she eventually stopped at a door of a room I assumed was a changing room or at least a bathroom at the very least.

She hands me the clothing, I go into the small room to get dressed in the large hoodie and jeans they gave me to dress in. I try to squeeze into the shoes given, but they are too small.

Holding the hospital gown as I get out I note that the woman is gone.

The whole hallway was empty, I folded the gown placing it on a table where a small vase had been placed. I find a note placed beside it neatly creased.

"Is this for me?" I ask myself.

Unfurling the paper I read to sprint down the hall to see a pair of sneakers below me in front of my limited vision. Gazing up I meet face to face with the man of nightmares himself.

"D-Dominique?" I fumble in my words.

"How about we have a little chat Christian?"

"We aren't chatting because we have nothing to chat about!" I shout.

Ambling over to me he grabs my left hand and then my right, he turns and twists in the motions of dancing before I know it he is stepping side to side with me in his arms.

"You seem to know by now…" Dominique stated.

I am swung backward, I never have danced before yet here I am being led into such an awkward affair with someone I see as a devil.

"Release Chara please!" I plead.

"I am sorry Christian, I can't let her go so easily unless…"

"Unless?" I asked.

"Give your title up and leave the clan while you are still human." He threatened.

"No! There is surely a reason Gavyn wanted me to be here!" I argued.

"I had a feeling you would say something like that…" Dominique said.

I force his hand away from mine, I start to walk away from Dominique. The very thought of his useless banter was meaningless to me.

"I am going now, Alice needs me I assume," I explained.

. "They won't be for a while…"

Standing there motionless, confused since he saw her leave with Doctor Silas earlier.

"Why do you say that?"

Dominique takes his pocket watch out, giving it a good look over before stuffing it back in his pocket. Looking over to me I give him a frown.

"Master Everett won't be here till five or six if I remember right." Dominique declared.

"Great stuck with the psycho the rest of the day," I say loud enough for him to hear.

"Easy for you to say." Dominique disputed.

"Now what do we do?" I questioned getting bored.

He only smiles instead of answering, maybe he isn't the talking type so I decided to stand there watching while we're together for a little while.

"Why is the hospital eerily vacant during the day?" I inquired to know.

"They deal with vampires and other stuff during the night you idiot! That's why your room had no windows since your clan is a vampire you are not allowed to have a lit room!" He tells me.

"Why did you erase Alice's mind?"

"Because I can...I would have been kicked if they learned I pushed you over the ledge, but I also wanted to teach you a lesson. I knew…"

"You knew this was going to happen?" I respond growling back at him.

"Of course, the witches are known for spiriting away anyone for even money or goods if even down there. Your life meant nothing to them."

"I am done with you...I don't deserve this treatment from anyone!" I shout.

Strolling away I make my way back to my room barefooted, he gives me a gentle wave.

I dropped to my knees and something had been shot into my back, in a moment of pure recklessness I could feel my 'Golden Gaze' activate; I attempted to pull myself up to try to punch him, but he easily grabbed a hold of my knuckles.

The nurse with the green hair comes back out holding the gun in her hands with a satisfied grin.

"Oh good, the medicine actually works, thank you, nurse," Dominique stated.

Lifting my jaw up to get a better look, he pulls the tranquilizer out. I wince in pain, unable to object to his latest treatment.

He spends a few minutes examining my eyeball before allowing me to collapse into his arms.

Somehow I am keeping conscious, he hoists me up taking my arm swinging it over his shoulder.

"Let's go back to your room a little more before they come," Dominique says.

"Hahaha...Haha...not again." I say drowsily.

He shakes me to make me snap out of it, he sits me down on a chair in front of the room so he can open the door up.

Raising me up again we limp unsteadily on my feet the rest of the way back to my bed.

Instead of lying down, I decided to sit up. Dominique carries on with bringing out a set of tools from his pressed jacket.

Gawking at them I pushed my hands to my mouth, I couldn't stop laughing the longer I stared.

"You are creeping me out…" Dominique responds to my giggling.

"I can't haha...help it!" I cry out, "My eye...it's burning hahaha!"

Viewing the nurse coming in from the side she keeps a constant gaze on me from a distance.

Strolling over she has me lay down, Dominique props my eye open with his fingers bringing out large prodding and poking tools aiming right into my eyeball.

I am unable to keep still regardless of the medicine I received, Dominique becomes frustrated easily with my restless movements.

"Keep still Christian please!" Dominique yelled.

I am engulfed in laughter, my giggles rise with an intensity I could not seem to fight inside of me. Clinging to the hospital bed grab bar I hold my breath.

Letting out a deep sigh afterward, I slowly feel the glow in my eye fade away allowing the chuckling to subside.

"What's in that...medicine haha?" I asked.

"Nurse...I need a report on what went on the last examination." Dominique said wearily.

"I will get it now…" She responded almost speechless.

"It seems you are a wee bit immune to the dose given…" Dominique explains pulling out a larger needle from his case.
