Chapter 1 - Waking up

"Haha!" I screamed in delight as I watched the two animals going at it. The two starving, rabid dogs battling it out for the little meat I had gifted them.

"BARK!!" One of the dogs yelled, biting down on the neck of the other.

Quite a vicious act, done purely to satiate its hunger.

Blood leaked from the open wound created by the opposing dogs teeth. "Yes yes! Kill him!" I said with ecstasy as I watched the fight come to an end.

I enjoyed doing things like this, even if it earned me weird looks and judgement, it was what calmed me down.

"Essex!" I heard a woman yell, making me fear for my life.

Of course it was Riley! She always ruined my fun, trying to lock me back up in that horrid house. I could never do anything with her breathing down my neck. I couldn't even eat alone anymore because of her fear of me doing something she considered stupid.

My whole life was subjected to her ideals and I despised her for it, but of course, it was her job as the mother of a mentally insane child.

Ignoring her calls, I took out the comb with a sharpened end. It was my own piece of work! I quickly crept towards my neighbors dog, watching as it was too distracted with the raw meat I had given it.

"Hehe..." I chuckled, raising my hand above its head. As it noticed the shadow over it, I swiftly brought my arm down. Hearing the piercing of its skin as the end of the comb went through its skin was like music to my ears.

"Yelp!"

It's cries only furthering my enjoyment.

"ESSEX?!"

Fuck, the bitch is here to ruin my fun again.

"STOP IT!!" My shoulder was yanked back, making me release my grip on the comb, leaving it stuck in the stupid mutts neck.

"Let me go!" I yelled, my temper reaching its peak as I had been disrupted to many times.

I flailed my arms, trying to escape from the grasp of my abnormally strong mother.

Unnatural strength ran through my ancestry as I too was incredibly strong, but I was nothing compared to my mother and grandfather.

"YOU WILL STOP, RIGHT THIS INSTANT!" She yelled at me, making me shrivel up in fear and annoyance as I stopped my attempts at escape.

I can't stand her sometimes.

"What is wrong with you?!"

That question has been asked, and answered way too many times. I still find it stupid, since she herself knows what's wrong with me.

A psychopath with criminally terrible ADHD along with motor tics and a terrible childhood.

Anyway, I surely did not enjoy being dragged back to the house by my mother, but it was a common occurrence whenever I escaped.

I could only wait for the earful I would get from my grandfather, and the relentless tears that my grandmother would rain down on me.

Though, it's not like I could care any less.

.

Sitting in the attic, or more commonly known as my very own room, I tapped my fingers against each other repeatedly, thinking about many things at once.

My ability to hold multiple trains of thought was unmatched, letting me think about separate things flawlessly all the while containing the urge to twitch.

Unlike most people, my tics were somewhat controllable if I kept my hands under constant movement, and moving my hands was one of the few things I enjoyed.

Crack!*

Crack!*

Crack!*

Crack!*

I popped my thumbs knuckle with repetition, the sounds echoing off the slanted roof.

"Should I kill myself?" I had thought this many times, even going as far as attempting it, but I never succeeded.

Truly, I never even really wanted to die, but right now I was getting the urge to, as if it was an unavoidable tic.

Watching as my body involuntarily stood up, and stepped towards the nearest wall, I continued to crack my fingers.

"Hmmm... Like this?" I muttered, grabbing onto the wooden pillars that were built into the frame of the wall.

Smack!*

My head rammed itself into the wall, sharp pains assaulting my head. Though I ignored it and found the damage done sufficient.

Smack!*

Things went on like this until I was delirious and I could feel the blood dripping down my forehead.

"Ha..." I laughed under my breath, my head spinning as I struggled to hold myself up.

"Essex!" My grandfather yelled from downstairs, most likely expecting a response.

Unfortunately for him, I didn't have the power to do so, and ignoring him, I slammed my head into the wall one final time.

And like that, I lost consciousness, or more accurately, my life.

.

For short moments, all I could remember was the throbbing pain in my forehead, before my memories came back to me.

I sorted them, organizing them in my mind like I usually would, when I realized a problem.

"HEY!" I screamed in anger, or, tried to, but no sound came out.

I was truly angered by the fact that I couldn't pop my fingers. "POP DAMMIT!!"

I was too busy throwing a tantrum to notice the unnatural situation I was in. "The fuck is this?" I questioned, still angered by the fact my knuckles wouldn't pop.

I reached out my hand, although this act required all my effort, I chalked it up to the fact that my body was numb because of the damage done to my head.

It was pitch black, but I could tell I was floating in some sort of liquid, a fleshy wall of matter surrounding me.

"Oi, is this what I think it is?" One of the first thoughts to surface in my mind was the fact that I could theoretically be inside of another being right now.

This alone excited me, more so than anything else I have ever experienced. It was here, where I felt the unbelievable pain come in, the walls around my contracted a bit as I forced towards a certain direction.

"GAHH!" I let out a short scream, for no sounds to come out like usual.

This is most definitely birth.

It was quite easy for me to tell, being able to think clearly, while leaving another train of thought to worry about the pain was a talent of mine.

All my pain was basically numbed, yet I could still feel it. It's nigh-impossible to explain, but it doesn't matter.

I could feel could air touching parts of my body as I was forced out quickly. I could feel the pushing behind me as I left what I assumed to be the womb.

It was surprising, but I experienced even more pain in that instant.

"BRAHK!!" I yelled, sound actually coming out this time, although in the form of what sounded like a bark.

The burning sensation I could feel in my lungs was unbearable, but it subsided, leaving me with the freezing wind as my only cover.

[Due to being birthed with an extremely dark and powerful soul, Trait {Deadly Sinner} obtained.]

A holographic screen appeared in front me, which made no sense as my eyes were still closed, but It still made me excited.

A system?!

My joy was through the roof, making me open my eyes and scream in joy.

"ARHFF!!" I yelled, in another unfamiliar voice.

Oh, so I'm a dog? Alright.

I think, picking up on the hints as I looked back.

Holy shit, that's definitely not a dog....
