Chereads / A Transmigrated Oddity / Chapter 3 - Assimilating Knowledge

Chapter 3 - Assimilating Knowledge

Ignoring the looks of awe from my siblings, and a look of utter surprise from my mother, I moved towards the dragons stomach.

But as I did so, the corpse started to glow in blue light, making me remember something vital.

God, why couldn't it just stay like this.

Having to dash a quite a few meters away made me slightly annoyed as I watched the body grow to its normal size.

Comparing it to my mother was an insult as it's size was unbelievable.

This will be quite enjoyable to eat.

Approaching the beast's stomach, I started to dig in, ignoring the looks of the starving wolves behind me.

[Sufficient mass consumed, repairing damage]

The system announced and my ribs repaired themselves, hardening extremely. As I continued to eat while healing, my body grew and transformed, my muscles grew more defined as my fur was sucked into my body at some parts.

Now, I looked like a cross between my mother and the ice dragon. I gained its build while keeping my facial features. My tail grew in thickness and length, leaving my spikes though they were now an icy blue instead of a blood red.

They even shone to a degree and were quite obviously, very hard.

I had traces of fur all over my body but now it was more like the hair a human had. With most of it being concentrated on my back, creating a spine of fur.

[Level up!]

[Level up!]

[Level up!]

[Draconic Spirit Heart consumed]

[Trait, {Dragon Magic Affinity} gained]

[Trait, {Ice Magic Affinity} gained]

[Major Traits failed to obtain, {Draconic Soul}, {Wind Magic Affinity}]

[Ability, {Spirit Heart} gained]

[Ability, {Adamantine Jaws} gained]

[Major Abilities failed to obtain, {Compact Muscles}]

[Skill, {Cold Touch} gained}

[Major Skills failed to obtain, {Size Manipulation}, {Physical Enhancement}]

Looking at everything I gained, and failed to gain, I was overjoyed yet angered. Losing out on the two major traits, and {Size Manipulation} made me mad.

But I calmed myself down by standing on my two hind legs and leaning against the wall.

With my long, 5 fingered hand, I started to pop my knuckles. With my other hand, I felt my jaw, running my hand over the unbelievably hard bone.

Opening my mouth, I ran my finger over my teeth, the sharpness was unmatched as it managed to draw blood from me with just a touch.

I'm clearly becoming quite overpowered.

I removed my hand from my mouth and put it against the wall.

{Cold Touch}

I activated the skill, watching as a layer of ice covered my fingers. Slowly, the wall started to freeze, turned a bluish shade before stopping after leaving a certain distance of my fingers.

Seeing as it didn't do much I was quite disappointed, but too lazy to care. Coming up with an idea in the moment, moved my hand to a different area, and concentrated the ice.

It left a singular finger and froze the wall, concentrating much harder than before, which consequently increased the area of effect.

It seems that with some foreign energy I assume to be magic, I'm able to freeze things.

This brought me to a revelation.

Magic spells are classified as skills, meaning I can steal spells from people and master the magic that way.

Deciding to leave this for later, I moved back towards the corpse that was mostly consumed by me.

Being a quadrupedal animal, and walking on two fours was a little tough, but I assumed it would strengthen my legs.

"Ah, my son..." I heard a mature, womanly voice come from behind me. I looked at the fatigued wolf, or better known as Knoxus.

"Having just given birth, I am severely underpowered, and I'm assuming you know that considering the intelligence you've shown. So might I ask you to share some of this meal with your mother?" I could somewhat feel the strength coming from my mother, and I knew very well that she could still defeat me in this weakened state.

This alone made me respect her to an extent.

"Sure." I say, gripping the dead body and dragging it towards my mother, who I was now just as big as. I laid it before her as I watched the three children cower behind her.

[Knowledge assimilated]

As this was said, I felt another flow of information, though this time there was much more than when I was gifted with information about the All-Generator.

I held my head, as the slight headache I gained made me want to sleep.

"Tsk." I groaned, moving behind my mother and laying down.

I'll leave all this for later.

.

I woke to a nudge on my stomach, which annoyed me but I was still too tired to get truly angered. "Move." I commanded, not even opening my eyes to see what disturbed me as I knew it was one of my siblings.

"Elder brother..." A young, feminine voice whined, continuing to push into my stomach.

Opening my eyes I glared at the small white pup who looked at me with weird eyes.

Looking at her, I wanted to chop her neck off, but decided against it as she had a cool look. And of course, I wouldn't be able to demonstrate how much better I was, if there was no one to demonstrate too.

"What do you want mongrel." I asked, pushing myself off the ground as I looked at the small creature before me.

My vocabulary had seemed to change thanks to the pieces of knowledge and memories from the dragon, but I couldn't complain, as it was an intimidating way of speech.

I couldn't wait to see the faces on others faces as they're berated by me while I destroy their lives.

"How did you defeat that dragon?" My little sister asked as I surfed through the knowledge of said dragon.

"It was weaker than me, there isn't much to say." I responded, while learning of things that confused me.

I surely didn't gain all the dragons memories or knowledge, but I gained a bit.

I now knew that this world is called Titania, along with key details. Such as the fact that this world was 50% land, and was occupied mainly by beasts.

The ratio of humanoids to monsters was 1 to 10, quite surprising to me. Though the humanoids that were alive were known to be crazily strong, though they stayed to themselves.

This world itself was massive, being many times bigger than earth, nearing the size of Jupiter. This alone assured of the strength of even the weakest of beasts as the gravity here would be unbearable to the normal human body.

There was too a hierarchy in this world, with 6 ranks for beasts and humans.

Namely being:

Rank 0, where the beings that didn't have any abilities whatsoever were held.

Rank 1, where being capable of little destruction, having abilities like enhanced strength, were held.

Rank 2, most beings in Rank 2 had unlocked their spirit heart which gives them access to magic.

Rank 3, one could destroy towns with ease, and create chaos in kingdoms.

Rank 4, a qualitive leap existed here, most beings being capable of easily leveling mountain ranges.

Rank 5, Here, beings could quite easily destroy kingdoms and level countries.

Rank 6, the final rank, where those who stepped into this stage were considering world ending entities, capable destroying and rebuilding the world on a whim when at the peak.

Currently, I could be classified as a Rank 2, while my mother when at full power would be on the cusp of reaching Rank 3.

Thankfully the dragon that aimed to take out my mother was one of the weaker ones, being only a Rank 2. Most dragons are Rank 3 with the potential to reach rank 6 given enough time.

"Elder Brother." Another young voice spoke, pulling me out of my deep thoughts.

"Mother said she would like to talk to you!" The boy said with excitement, touching my legs with his paw.

"Come come!" I was quite disgusted by its... cuteness? But I complied, and followed the pup to our mother sitting in the back of the cave.

"Essex..." She spoke, turning to me. This confused me slightly as I wasn't expecting her to give me the same name as in my previous life.

"That is your name." She said, sitting on her hind legs.

"Anyway, I've told you to come here as I have a few questions for you."

I wasn't one who liked answering questions, but the assimilation of the dragon made me slightly calmer, and so did the effects of what I guessed was the Sloth Sin.

"Ask away mother." I said with indifference, stretching my arms as I reached the roof of the cave. This act almost made me lose balance on my hind legs, but I considered this a sort of training and I enjoyed it to an extent.

"Well, seeing your little... battle, earlier. I've assumed you've gained a ability that hasn't shown up in the world for quite a long time." She started. "In fact, the last person to have this ability was THE [Primal Knoxus], the progenitor of our race."

Hearing this, I got intrigued, wondering if one of my abilities would be this inherited power.

"Do you have the ability of {Consumption}?"

Wow, right on the dot.

"I.. do actually." I responded, looking into my mothers eyes that shown with pride.

"Well, I'll be back later." I say, turning around and walking towards the entrance of the cave.

I'm feeling quite hungry.

.

Walking down the snowy mountain, I continued to snap my fingers, thinking to myself as I looked at my menu.

...

I can see myself becoming quite overpowered relatively quickly.

Just from killing that one dragon, I gained access to magic alongside a few other things. After putting 17 points into Magic, and 1 in power, I closed the system and looked at the space in front of me.

I opened my mouth, and with a breath coming from the back of my throat, I felt fire gather itself, and spew outwards. The fire lasted until I was out of breath, which was quite a while considering my size, and the capacity of my lungs.

[Skill, {Frost Fire Breath} has leveled up]

Using the skill made my throat burn slightly but it wasn't much damage, if anything it was just a tingle.

After seeing the notification, I moved onto another skill.

"{Cold Touch}" I say, trying to memorize the feeling, and concentrate as I could feel the magic run through my veins from the spirit heart in my chest.

As I was doing so, I could feel the energy slowly dissipate as I lost control over the skill and the ice on my fingers retracted.

Contrary to what I assumed, I didn't feel exhaustion, but I did feel a sharp pain whenever I tried to activate {Co-

Slap!*

"A SNEAK ATTACK?!" I screamed in anger as I looked at the creature under me. It could be described as a yeti, yet it was much weaker than one would assume.

I could easily sense it's presence and take it down in under a second.

"GARH!" I heard a yell off to my side, where there were two more Yeti like beast.

From what I could tell, they were all Rank 2, but I was still much stronger than them. Being towards the higher end of Rank 2, these meager beasts that were only in the beginning couldn't do anything to me.

"Sooooh~" I sucked up as much air as I could and prepared my Frost breath.

With an exhale gathered from the bottom of my throat I released hell on the three beats, freezing them with my fire.

I smiled looking at there bodies and crouched down to eat.

"I wonder what I'll get..."
