"You're becoming famous, Aruk."
"Aruk? You mean Aruda."
"No, it's Aruk. Some goblin wanderers corrected your name."
…Those damn brats! Well, disguise was never an important factor so it's fine.
I watch the fake elf scrolling on mid-air with her fingers. If I didn't know better I would have though she is going through her status. But she should be on a platform restricted to the wanderers for sharing information.
"Your strength is being called into question right now. Some people are asking if what you did was fair."
"I got my strength by training from years of accumulation. I don't know why you guys are complaining when you're having it much easier."
"But you turned him into a goblin and forcefully at that. He has to start from zero again. A lot of people are fearful that it can happen to them"
"Then that's good."
Immortality and accelerated growth. Such blessings are frightening when placed on one person, but when a whole group has it, it goes beyond a calamity. There is a need to show them the strength of the natives to destroy their greed, and any possibility of overturning the world.
Not like they actually can. There are rules binding the Fels because we are capable of thoroughly oppressing them, but both side needs a respectable degree of fear for the other side to have a healthy relationship. It's to coexist.
The fake elf seems confused though, because she cannot imagine such a scenario.
"Well, they are only in the minority. Schwarz had never been liked so most of the community is cheering you on."
"What! I'm becoming famous?!"
"That was what I said in the beginning!"
"Good fame and infamy are different. Unfortunately, I don't advocate the universal equality."
'What is that?' is what her eyes says.
"This is the inn I am currently living in, the conditions are good and the last I checked, there were still some rooms."
After the little farce I can't call a fight, April volunteered to introduce me to an inn for the trouble she brought. With money and extra earning, I can finally sleep on a bed… not, I can't sleep, only meditate.
"Heh~ not bad. But why do you live in an inn when you can just leave the world?"
I've always wandered about that. Since they just go poof after getting into a room, why bother hogging it in the first place.
"Because we suffer penalties if we don't leave our body in a safe place. We need to eat, drink, and leaving is like putting our avatars to sleep. It won't disappear if we leave outside a safe zone and we will likely be robbed or die, or both. Leaving inside a city randomly will half the performance of our bodies the next day and we will feel like having a hangover. Then if we overwork our mana or stamina, we die."
"Heh~. They all sound pretty normal, but when you know that those bodies were crafted by the Gods, that's quite an underperformance."
It seems like they've intentionally placed those inconveniences on the avatars to simulate a real living body.
… Does that mean I am facing the same restrictions, because I copied the foundation? That can't be. But if its hard coded into the avatar, then maybe…
'Gobuda, you might be really tired.'
Lir seems to have realised the same thing.
'…Bullshit, Lily is a slime with infinite stamina, ability to live on ambient mana, and extreme efficiency in energy conversion when digesting food. Slimes are the most economical pets ever!'
'Shut up, even you are not convinced by yourself. Hurry up and eat something, and rest, and recover your mana. If you die, we're doomed!'
'Kuh, such oversight, I will not acknowledge this…'
Reluctantly, I entered the inn to pay for a room, and ask for a meal to be as well.
"…I forgot how unlucky I am today."
'If you are thankful, just say it.'
"…Thanks for sharing your room with me."
'What…?'
Lir voiced her shock
'I need to check the weather really quick.'
'…'
Usually, I would be scolding her by now, but I'm too depressed to do any of that. I stare listlessly into the space, remembering how my body recovering faster after eating.
"…Is it fate, or is it karma?"
"U-Um, d-don't worry about it, you're just having a bad day."
"…Thank you…"
It seems like there was a large influx of travellers passing through the city this evening and all the inns, not just this one, are filled too. They are only staying for this night, but that is the same for me so our schedule clashed, leaving me with no rooms. The kind fake elf offered to share her room because her body will disappear anyway when she leaves and sleep in her own world.
"It's all that whatever-his-name's fault. If not for his name, I would have gotten myself a room."
"I still don't understand why his name is at fault."
"It's because he is called 'Black Dragon', a treacherous race and the symbol of tyranny. They betrayed the world and sided with the demons in a war hundreds of years ago!"
I explained the war of 700 years ago.
"This generation now should be fine, but those who lived for a long time might turn hostile if you show favour to black dragons."
We continued chatting together, mostly me answering her questions, until she got ready to leave for the night. Just then, Lir's voice came back.
'Gobuda, you should bring her with you.'
She spoke in an uncharacteristically serious voice.
'Why, some sort of prophecy?'
'You can tell if you 'look' at her.'
'But I'm tired and my head hurts~.'
I whine at her but still did as she says. She really can see important things after all.

Normal inspections only reveal surface level information and nothing detailing a person's strength or achievements. That's why I need to use something more. Sifting through the sea of information, I looked at her titles which caught my eyes.

"What the…"
…Crazy…
'She's not your normal fake elf, but a crazy fake elf.'
I mumbled as I watch her body disappear into motes of light…
I don't believe in coincidence. There has only ever been three Gods in this world, three beings that holds authority over the world. A new god will change the system that the world runs on, and thinking a bit further, this shouldn't be the only change.
Welp, not my problem.
"So what's the weather forecast?"
'Interested? It might rain spears tomorrow.'
The next day, fake elf happily to joined me on my journey. We left the inn after a meal, but was ambushed by the what's-his-names party and fans. As we ran outside the city walls, we escaped under a rain of flying spears.
