Chapter 1 - Stolen Proposal

"Lady Luna, the prince has arrived,"

Luna's hands are still trembling even after she tried to calm herself down. Who would've thought that she, a normal girl living a normal life with her foster parents, that she, a girl with no nobility, would be sitting at the Castle's Dining table for an arranged marriage meeting?

Her shoulders automatically tensed up as she can feel her heart beating so fast. Her handmaid tapped her on the shoulder and gave her a gentle smile. "I-I'm sorry, I just--" she stammered, She wasn't prepared though she thought she already had herself prepared in the last few days.

She took a deep breath. "I just don't know what to do..." her handmaid placed a cup of tea on the table and smiled at her, "Milady, please drink this, it will help you calm yourself."

Luna took a sip and looked at the maid, "Why won't you talk to me?" she asked, the smile on the handmaid's face disappeared in a second, "Milady, we are not allowed to talk to whom we are serving without their permission,"

Luna smiled at her, making her feel at ease,"Then I give you the permission to talk to me when you want," "But Milady--"

"Also call me by my name when we're alone," Her eyes were so happy that the maid can't help herself and just nodded at her.

"Milady, the prince will be here anytime soon, I will take my leave now,"

She should be happy because she was chosen by the Prince to marry. Yet, not even a single happiness could enter her heart and feelings, all she really felt was dread and unease. She would be the happiest girl in the Kingdom for marrying a Prince. Luna, herself, couldn't deny that marrying a Prince became her dream once, but she always dreamt to marry someone she truly love. Luna suddenly felt her heart throbbing so fast again, she can feel the strong presence of a person entering the room. She tried her best to calm herself down and tried to tell herself inwardly to focus on hardening her resolve until someone suddenly spoke.

"Are you alright, Milady?" the soft and mesmerizing voice came from the man standing by the door, A gorgeous, good-looking, and sent-from-heaven man that made Luna drop her jaw a little.

"I--umm, Lady Luna? are you alright?" He asked again and just then Luna got back to her senses and stood up "S-Sorry for my rudeness, P-Prince Keane..."

The man eye's widened by what she said and smiled, "Oh, I'm sorry, Milady, but I am not Prince Keane, I'm his older brother, Prince Gabriel." Luna was taken aback and felt embarrassed so she flashed a forced smile instead.

"Please walk with me, I'll show you around the castle." He said as he offer his hand,

Luna never saw the Prince she was going to marry, but seeing Prince Gabriel she thought that she would be fine with a prince like him. As they walk, the Prince tells her stories back when he was a child and Luna had already forgotten all the fear she felt a while ago. "You look really good on that dress, you know?"

Luna gave him a shy smile," I... never looked at it in the mirror" she replied hesitantly, after a second she heard Prince Gabriel chuckle and felt him grab her hands and dragged her into a room.

"Why did you bring me here?" her voice shaken up, Prince Gabriel looked at her seriously and chuckled once again,

"You must think you seriously don't look good on expensive clothes, right?"

Luna looked down, thinking that she must really look bad in the dress and they were just forcing themselves to compliment her. Back then she knew she could only wear a wonderful dress once she was about to get married. Her foster father used to teach her his sword skills so she can protect herself, she knew she had to protect herself, and thus her father still wanted to be the one to protect her. And her mother was always sick and became one of the reasons why she had to force herself to be engaged in a prince.

In her daydreams, she would be having a wedding on the beach, as the waves start to crawl gently into the shore, the tempestuous and foggy blue sea gives off a cold breeze that gently touches her wedding dress, But her fantasies were never real, a simple daydream couldn't be brought into reality.

"Why don't you see it for yourself?" Prince Gabriel pointed Luna the mirror big enough to see a person's whole body,

"I guess I look really--" "Come on, now." she felt Prince Gabriel's arm around her back and pushing her to look in the mirror. Luna closed her eyes tightly "Mind if I hold your hand?" the Prince asked making Luna look at him,

"No, not... really," she replied as she felt the Prince's hands holding onto hers which gave her a weird feeling she's never felt before,

"Now look," the Prince said looking at her straight in the eyes,

She, herself was surprised as soon as she looked in the mirror. "Just who is that?" she quickly covered her mouth thinking that it was supposed to be only said in her mind.

The Prince suddenly burst out laughing, "I know that kind of face... It says ' It slipped!'" Luna's eyebrows furrowed for a second and then she chuckled.

The Prince stopped laughing and became serious, "I guess I know why he chose to marry a non-noble girl like you... I would've fallen for you if I didn't know you were getting engaged with my younger brother..." He looked at Luna seriously, "Or more like..." he took a step toward Luna and she felt him grab her waist and lift up her chin making their eyes meet. Her heart was throbbing so fast that she could even hear it herself.

"I would've just chosen you to be my wife,"
