Waking up to a chilly air Anastasia shivered and pulled the covers over her head trying to escape from the cold.
At that moment she realized something that she wasn't in her bed and in fact she had transmigrated over into a book she purchased.
She shot up in the bed looking around frantically when she spotted a floor length mirror in the corner of the room.
She rushed out of bed to the mirror and gasped at the person standing inside it.
"Is this me"? She said as she touched the pale white cheeks.
Anastasia in the novel was not described at all so she did not expect her to be such a beauty.
Long white hair that passed her butt, sparkling yellow eyes like the sun, tender white skin so translucent that it looked like she would disappear, and rosy pink lips.
Even in her era her features could be considerably fairylike.
Breaking her from her admiration a knock was heard at the door Anastasia was startled and rushed back to the bed.
"Come in" she said from a sitting position in bed, a maid she did not recognize came in with her head bowed.
"Good morning Your Highness, please allow me to help you dress for breakfast," she said with her eyes still casted down.
Anastasia was not used to someone helping her dress. Now she was a in this world she had to play the role well.
"Yes, and what is your name"? Anastasia asked the maid. She at least wanted to know the name of the person who was about to see her in her birthday suit.
"There's no need to know the name of a lowly person like me Your Highness," she said bowing again.
Anastasia thought that people of lower status in this world really were treated poorly.
Someone like Anastasia who was ignored and looked down upon did not like that fact at all.
"Did I ask if you're a lowly person, or did I ask your name"? Anastasia said with a smile hoping to lighten the maids mood.
"I apologize Your Highness, my name is Elena,"the young maid said, Anastasia thought she was cute.
"Okay, Elena help me get dressed," Anastasia said getting up from bed.
"Yes, Your Highness".
After a surprisingly comfortable bath, Elena dressed Anastasia in a beautiful blue dress with white gloves and beautiful hair ornaments.
One glance in the mirror, and Anastasia could not believe how beautiful Elena had made her.
"It looks good, Elena, thank you," Anastasia said knowing that nobles usually didn't thank servants. She was not like that she believed in manners.
"No, Your Highness, don't thank me, it's you who is so beautiful," Elena said with red tinted cheeks.
Anastasia thought she was adorable for blushing over such a small comment.
Off to the dining room Anastasia thought of all the ways she could avoid seeing the King again.
She should just live as a quiet mouse in the palace until the female lead appears.
As she thought of this the butler Carl appeared announcing her presence.
Why is he announcing me aren't I having breakfast alone? Anastasia thought.
Her plan to avoid the King went flying out the window. The doors opened to King Spade sitting at the end of a long table filled with food.
With slow and steady steps, Anastasia made her way into the dining room daring not to look the King's way until she made it to her seat.
"Greetings, to Your Majesty," Anastasia said as she curtsied, this time she looked up seeing the King's face properly for the first time.
She nearly gasped at the man in front of her he was breathtakingly beautiful.
Long black hair, fiery red eyes, a sharp nose and jaw, she could tell that he was tall with a great figure even though he was sitting.
Their eyes locked for a while before Anastasia realized that she was staring and hurriedly took her seat further away from him.
She dare not sit right next to him she did not want to do anything to warrant her head being cut off.
What if she chewed too loudly and irritated him? He was a man of no patience and zero tolerance she remembered reading how he killed people over the smallest things.
"Sit here," he said in a low voice that seemed to send vibrations through Anastasia's body.
He was pointing to the seat directly next to him.
As a reflex of being nervous Anastasia smiled and walked to the seat he appointed.
Breakfast was served and they ate in silence Anastasia did her best to eat quietly as not to disturb him.
The food being so delicious she mistakenly devoured many dishes.
Seeing that she was eating like a pig she slowed down and looked at the King.
"Your Majesty, try this it's delicious" Anastasia said placing a piece of beef onto Wolf's plate.
Small gasps and whispers echoed throughout the dining room from servants even Carl the butler was shocked.
No one has ever spoken to the King like that, no one knew what his reaction would be.
Wolf looked at the expecting face of Anastasia then back to his plate. People had never spoke so informally to him and why did it not irritate him he thought.
Poking the piece of meat with his fork, Wolf put it in his mouth and for some reason todays breakfast tasted better.
"Delicious right? Your Majesty, here try this," Anastasia said as she continued to feed him not noticing the stares of the servants or him.
Anastasia slowly began to forget that she was sitting next to the psycho King, and even treating him informally.
She was too immersed in the delicious food and the mere fact that she was dining with another person.
Back in her world, she never ate with anyone it was always just her and books.
Breakfast went on like that until the end with Anastasia eating while feeding Wolf along the way.
Feeling full Anastasia came back to reality, she punched herself internally thinking back at her actions.
Sneaking a peek at Wolf she immediately regretted it because he was already looking her way with those oppressive red eyes.
Anastasia smiled nervously.
"Your Majesty, are you full? Do you want to take a walk to relax your stomach?" she blurted out. In fact, it was the complete opposite of what she wanted to do.
She originally wanted to go back to her room and sleep the food off but under his gaze her mouth said something else.
She expected him to say no because doesn't a King have tons of paperwork?
"Alright," Wolf said standing up placing a napkin over his empty plate.
WHAT! He'll really go?! Anastasia screamed in her head.
"A-alright, lets go Your Majesty," Anastasia stuttered as she too stood up from the table.
Carl and the maids were beyond shocked never has the King took a stroll around the palace.
Looking at Anastasia they all started to think that they'll have to take special care of her from now on.
******
"I've never seen a garden this pretty before," Anastasia said honestly.
In her world she never to the chance to "stop and smell the flowers."
She always was on the go trying to be far away from her family or coped up in her room.
Wolf didn't respond he just watched Anastasia as she walked through the garden stopping every now and then to touch and smell the flowers.
He did not know why he found watching her interesting she was unlike any other woman he'd seen before.
She was unable to hid her expressions which meant he could easily read her and she did not try to seduce him with her looks.
Though he had to admit she was stunning but the fact that she didn't know how beautiful she was intrigued him.
He did not like arrogant people, women in particular. His father used to bring countless arrogant and shameless women to the palace and he hated it.
He never intended to get a wife but when she walked into the drawing room on their first meeting it felt like he was hit by a wave.
He had never felt this way before he was sure another greedy or flirtatious woman would come through the doors yet a wide eyed fawn pranced inside.
Since their meeting he watched her secretly from the time she slept until she met him at breakfast.
He was unable to focus on work which was unlike him and he found himself watching her every move even now he watched her flow between the flowers.
At that time Anastasia felt like someone was watching her and to her surprise when she looked up Wolf was staring.
She smiled at him trying to hid her nervousness.
"Your Majesty-" Anastasia was about to say something but was cut off.
"Starting tomorrow night you will share my chambers" Wolf said with a serious expression daring her to oppose.
Anastasia panicked how could she stay in the same room as him not only is he a man but he's the one destined to kill her!
It seemed like her idea of living quietly was slowly slipping away.
"Yes Your Majesty" was all she could say what else was she to do?
"For now let's just sleep and find a way to change his mind later", Anastasia thought as they headed back inside walking in silence.
