Chereads / My Husband Is A Tyrant / Chapter 3 - The First Night

Chapter 3 - The First Night

Anastasia could not sleep after going to her room she agonized over what the King said. Granted she was now his wife but this was all too much!

She ultimately did not get any sleep because she saw the sunrise in the sky and Elena did her ritual of knocking on the door informing her it was time to get up.

"Your Highness did you not sleep well shall I bring you some tea"? Elena said to Anastasia who barely stood up straight as she was getting dressed.

"I'd appreciate it Elena" Anastasia said taking a seat on the couch.

"Your Highness your tea, will you also have breakfast"? Elena asked.

"Yes but I'll have it in my room today," Anastasia said not feeling like moving at all she wanted to crawl back into bed but that wouldn't be befitting of a Queen.

She also was hiding from the King after his sudden demand of sharing chambers. She wanted to avoid him for as long as possible.

Should she play sick or pretend to have bad sleeping habits to get out of the situation she thought as she picked over her breakfast.

"His Majesty the King has arrived" a guard outside of Anastasia's room announced.

The door opened and the King walked in heading straight to Anastasia who hurriedly stood up to greet him.

"Greetings-" Anastasia was cut off.

"No need for formalities, why did you not attend breakfast in the dining room"? the King questioned her with an angry face.

Anastasia was afraid and confused was he upset because she did not practice proper etiquette? Would this be the moment she dies for angering him she thought as she stood there.

"I-I was not feeling well Your Majesty and did not want to infect you so I had breakfast in my room" she lied through her teeth.

"Hmm," he said glaring at her.

"Carl calls the royal physician," he said turning to Carl the butler.

"Yes my King," Carl said telling a bystander maid to fetch the physician.

Anastasia was shocked had he called the physician?

"Do I have to pretend now"? she thought.

"Your Highness please lay down while the physician arrives," Elena said worriedly. She truly believed Anastasia did not feel well considering the state she saw her in when she came to serve her this morning.

Anastasia cringed internally she wanted to tell them all that she was just terrified to share a room with that psycho!

Anastasia was helped into the bed by Elena as was watched her closely.

"The Royal physician has arrived my King," Carl said ushering the physician inside.

"Check her condition," Wolf said to the physician gesturing to Anastasia who lay helplessly on the bed.

The physician checked her pulse and asked her a few questions.

"My King it seems that her Highness is lacking in sleep maybe due to new surroundings she is having a hard time at night," he said bowing respectfully.

Wolf only glared at Anastasia like he was trying to analyze her condition himself.

"Your Majesty I'm fine it's just as the physician said being in a new place is a little difficult," Anastasia said smiling with squinted eyes. Her bad habit of smiling out of nervousness increased since she transmigrated.

She did not want to seem burdensome what if he decided to kill her here and now for causing a fuss? She of all knew his cruel nature and wanted to avoid it at all costs but she constantly found herself right before him.

"Rest in your chambers for today dinner will be served to you here," he said as he turned to leave the room with servants trailing behind him.

"Yes Your Majesty," Anastasia said happily grinning in her mind. She felt like she successfully dodged another bullet.

Her happiness fell short when Wolf stopped in his tracks making the servants who followed closely behind stop abruptly.

"After dinner, you'll be escorted to my chambers," he said and made a b-line for the door.

Anastasia was left alone and in complete shock just when she thought she avoided the evil King he trapped her once more.

"How come he's being so persistent!" She yelled into her pillow kicking her legs in frustration. For the life of her, she couldn't understand Wolf or his reasoning for keeping her alive but she wasn't going to complain about being alive.

Time passed and the sun went down it was time for dinner but Anastasia did not have an appetite. She agonized over the first night she would spend with Wolf.

"What would happen?" Was the main question that plagued her mind. Both she and the original Anastasia did not have experience with the men. Though the original Anastasia flirted with Wolf on the first meeting it was all her father's plan that backfired.

In the other world, Anastasia couldn't even make a proper female friend let alone a boyfriend. At the age of 20, she had never dated or kissed a boy. Though she knew a lot about couples from being a hopeless romantic who drowned herself in novels she has always been single.

She envied the couples that passed by her on campus, on the bus, at the cafe, and just about all around her. She dreamed of having someone to call her own but she knew better than to believe that her dream could become reality.

Now that she's transmigrated into the unknown world those possibilities dwindled into oblivion. She had to focus on surviving she had no time for romance.

The food sat there getting cold Anastasia could not get herself to eat a bite. Elena stood on the side and observed her master tentatively. She could see that something was bothering her but did not know how to approach it.

"Your Highness, are you perhaps worried about your first night with the King," Elena questioned but with caution not to seem disrespectful.

Anastasia froze at the mention of tonight she thought she was doing a good job of hiding her nervousness. Guess not.

"Hahaha, what are you saying, Elena? Of course, as a Princess I've been educated on these matters it's just as the physician said the new surroundings may be causing my sleep to be off."

"Yes Your Highness I misspoke," Elena said bowing respectfully.

More maids came into the room clearing the dinner and helping Anastasia get ready for the King's chamber. They bathed her with light perfume scents and rose petals. If she wasn't potentially heading to her doom she would have enjoyed the pampering.

They dressed her a in spaghetti strap light pink silk nightgown that came just above her knees with a matching long silk rope. Her long blonde white hair was let down to hang loosely she looked stunning.

All the maids blushed at Anastasia's beautiful figure they had concluded that the house of Spade may get a little heir soon.

On the other hand, Anastasia followed them blindly she walked like a zombie a dead man walking what she was.

Elena knocked on the enormous double doors of the King's chambers. Anastasia wanted to run away and never look back. She never expected to share a room with him.

"My King, her Highness Princess Anastasia has arrived," Elena said announcing their presence. A rough voice came from the other side of the door making Anastasia frightened.

The maids saw how Anastasia trembled they felt sorry for the poor Princess who usually smiled and treated them kindly. They secretly rooted for her in their hearts.

"Let her in, you all go back," Wolf said from inside the room. Elena looked at the trembling Anastasia who just gave her a small smile before entering the lion's den.

"Greetings Your Majesty" Anastasia greeted from the door. The room was dark only having the moonlight to guide her she did not want to move.

"Come here"

"...."

Anastasia wanted to turn around and run back to her room but she took hesitant steps towards him. The darkness only amplified the fear inside her heart she couldn't guess what would happen next.

As she got closer to him she could see his face and long hair. He had on a long black robe that was open showing his well-built figure. Anastasia could feel her face flush she had never seen a man undressed before.

She subconsciously wrapped her robe around herself trying to hide the skin the maids and Elena forced her to show. Awkward silence enveloped the room.

Anastasia stood at the end of the bed with her head low she did not want to look up at him. She shakily stood there gripping her arms across her body. Subconsciously she was trying to comfort herself.

"Don't stand there all night lay down and go to sleep tomorrow we'll you will sign the contract and become my official Queen" Wolf said as he took his place in bed.

Anastasia thought that he said those words too loosely. Every time they meet he just bossed her around she glared at him as he lay there comfortably.

-.....-

"Who even wanted to be your wife!" She shouted and complained in her head as she walked to the bed slowly climbing in. She made sure to lay on the furthest end of the bed. She didn't care if she rolled onto the floor during the night not that she'll get any sleep tonight.

As she lay there staring at the ceiling she peered out of the side of her eye at Wolf. He too laid on his back but his eyes were closed. She took the opportunity to scan his appearance once more.

"He's quite handsome and he seems harmless when he's sleeping".

"Why did he accept this marriage?"

These were the thoughts of Anastasia as she looked at Wolf's sleeping form. She stared so long that her eyelids got heavy and she drifted off to sleep.

On the other hand, Wolf was the God of War and a true King. He wanted to share chambers with Anastasia to observe her closely she intrigued him and he wanted to know why.

All the while Anastasia shamelessly stared at him he was awake. From the time she walked through the halls with the maids, he was aware of her presence. Only after a few days, he could recognize her voice and footsteps within the palace.

He could feel her gaze on him as he pretended to sleep. Growing up he constantly lived with other people staring at him but their gazes always never gave him a feeling.

Unlike Anastasia her gaze right now made him feel warm... for the first time in his life, he had a peaceful night of rest with her by his side.
