Before the alarm rang at six in the morning, Anderson was already up working out because the guest inn bed was too uncomfortable for him, after spend half of the night tossing and turning, he decided to go for a run and do some more push ups, when it was some few minutes to six, he took a cold shower only because the heater was broken, honestly he didn't know why they couldn't just stay at Barbara's, there was warm showers and good beds but no, they were stuck on the silly fairy tale that if a husband and wife met on the morning of their wedding before marriage, they would have bad luck.
He finally opened up the zip up delivery suit they delivered to him yesterday for today's wedding, It looked like something from the 1200s, it had a scratchy feeling to it with a lot of embroidery, rolling his eyes he put the uncomfortable clothes on and headed to Williams room who was already dressed up sitting in front of the mirror.
"Hey man," Anderson said, knocking the already ajar door. He seemed to be lost in Thoughts as he didn't reply immediately, Anderson went ahead to touch his shoulder before he jerked to reality.
"Oh hey,"
"Sorry I didn't see you there, I was kind of lost in my head," William said, staring at his reflection again as he traced the pocket in his suit.
"You don't say," Anderson replied sarcastically as he repaired his collar.
"Having second thoughts?," Anderson asked playfully, making William hit him on his shoulder.
"Then let's go," Anderson said, pulling him out of the room to their car as they drove to the church but stayed at the back waiting for the ceremony to start as the cottage designed church was already half way filled up with people from their pack and other unfamiliar faces from probably Barbara's family.
The whole wedding went like a regular motion, not that he has been to many, but he has seen enough to know how weddings go, he watched them kiss and stare deeply at each other like they were all that mattered, William found his mate in a human person, he wondered when he would find his and if she will be human or werewolf, anything but a witch.
They moved to the reception which held at the same place the mahote bonfire took place only the place was redecorated to look very much like a beautiful garden his mum used to take him and his sister when they were younger, Which reminded him, he only saw Zoey since he came but he hadn't seen Bella anywhere.
After some food and a few drinks and dancing with the best man, the mother of the bride, her sisters and a few other friendly strangers, he decided to find Darla and take his leave; social events weren't his thing.
"Hey Darla," Anderson said, finding her by the food section like he knew he would find her.
"How did you find me, who told you I was at the food stand?," Darla asked as she chewed on a nugget and cake at the same time.
"Intuition,"
"Well At least I wasn't wrong," Anderson said, chuckling at her as she kept going at the food, it was one thing he first picked up about her, she had a very heavy appetite.
"So I have posted it on Instagram and had locals share out fliers in the city," Anderson said.
"Where is it taking place?," Darla asked.
"One of the biggest clubs in the cities, D'onelle," Anderson replied.
"Oh cool, now can I go back to eating if you would excuse me," Darla said, going back to stacking her plate only to eat half of it in the name of trying something new.
The whole wedding ceremony ended and now Mr and Mrs Baker were already headed to the Maldives for their honeymoon/Barbara's vacation. A week came by as it was time to watch the band audition.
Darla also suggested inviting other small recognizable artists to the show so as to make it look more formal, so they invited the Wallows, Clairo and other indie and rock artists. The auditioning started by six and since then, Anderson heard a lot of good rock band with a lot of weird name like Dungeon fellow, the democrats, Artistic jewish kids but the one that really gave him a kick in the belly was Used diapers sensation and yes they did stink.
While there were some good and bad performances, Anderson knew he had to make another show in California for another performance because no one here caught his eye, the last person to be announced was not even in a band, he was a solo artist because they called just a name "Hakeem", Darla on the other hand couldn't careless anymore, she just kept using her phone to play dumb games to while away time.
A guy who looked in his mid-twenties with jet black hair and dark mysterious eyes came on stage, he was tall at about six foot one which was almost his height, he was wearing a grey oversized sweatshirt and dark jeans and his hair managed to get into his eyes as he took each step, for Anderson it seemed like time slowed down and everything in his body was heightened.
He watched the mysterious handsome man play drums as he sang David Bowie space oddity, his voice was raspy but not too deep but deep enough to give him chills. His heart started racing the more and more he kept looking at him, he knew all what these signs were, they were told this story as kids multiple times when they were kids and what it meant, he just never thought he would find his mate this soon.
"What is it Anderson, you are acting weird," Darla asked looking at him as he kept fidgeting.
"I don't know Darla, I think...I think I have found my mate," Anderson stuttered looking at her, her eyes immediately widened as she started looking around looking for the person.
"Where's she?!!!," Darla exclaimed, unable to keep her cool.
"I don't think it's a girl Darla," Anderson said as he pointed to the stage at the drummer who was also at the end of the song and Darla followed his gaze until it landed on a boy.
"That your mate?" She asked, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion.
"But you are not gay," Darla said, a little bit loud.
Anderson nodded. "I know, you don't have to fucking shout,"
"You sure?," she asked when she saw that she was getting on his nerves. It's better to play it cool.
Turning his gaze to her, he frowned "About?
"The guy,"
"Yeah, I don't think he's the one, I'm just overreacting," Anderson said, laughing it off even though his heart was still beating fast.
When he finished performing, they wrapped up the show and Anderson quickly went after the mysterious dark-haired guy who was putting his drumsticks in his bag.
"Hey man, what's your name?," Anderson asked before realizing how the stupid the question was as they already submitted their names, he was also surprised that he wasn't starstrucked by him.
"Hakeem, Hakeem So...Hakeem Solivan," Hakeem said, correcting himself, he stopped using his last name Horus.
"Uhm so how would you like to be…." Anderson said before he was interrupted by a strong heat sensation in his chest other than another sensation he was feeling.
"Can I just have your contact?," Anderson asked, starting to feel uneasy within his chest.
After Hakeem gave it to him, he went to a secluded place in the club and brought his necklace out. It was blazing red, the red was so bright it scarred him a little on his chest.
It was at that moment he realized how much shit he was in.
