Chapter 5 - Chapter 3 : Monster

"This job is crap, after this mission I'd switch to being a baker, CEAO, Movie star, teacher or DJ."

"Puff, why not DJ baker ?!"

"Haha, you ? teacher ? The national education has to worry about that!"

"Shut up you bastards!"

The middle-aged man with the shaggy beard who spoke first, dressed in loose camouflage clothing, shouted angrily to his comrades sitting in the back of the pickup truck he drove.

"You two jerks wouldn't even recognize the talent if it shat in your face, a man like me is destined for great things, I can tell you with confidence, I have the stature to be president of the alliance!"

"Puff haha, Aron please shut him up, I can't take it anymore, I'm going to die laughing, Park Tae-Wook a 31 year old virgin president of the alliance? Haha."

"Fujiwara, it's not good to make fun of other people's dreams maybe it can really happen, he will surely be one day as long as he believes in it!"

"Thanks Aron you're my real friend!"

" And the day the cockroaches get to vote!"

"Puff Hahaha!"

"Aron son of bitch!!!"

The middle-aged black man with a shaved head and dozens of scars on his face suddenly stopped laughing and hurriedly stood up from the back of the pickup.

Holding a steel bar on the roof of the vehicle, he looked in the direction of the forest.

"Tae-Wook stop!"

The car slows down before stopping in the middle of the road a few meters away.

Aron's eyes suddenly became piercing as a green glow shone in his pupils.

"What is it? Is it another swarm?"

The skinny, short man in his early twenties with short black hair and a pale face also stood up and looked in the direction Aron was staring.

Aron's eyes suddenly became piercing as a green glow shone in his pupils.

"What is that? Is that another swarm?"

The skinny, short man in his twenties with short black hair and a pale face named Fujiwara also stood up and looked in the direction Aron was staring.

"Someone is running about 2 miles away, a pretty weak mana user has the amount of mana he's giving off, it looks like he's being chased by demons, based on the amount of mana they're giving off I'd say F levels."

. . . . .

*Gasps* *Gasps*

Miles, covered in sweat, ran at full speed through the forest that stretched as far as the eye could see, his muscles screaming making him feel like he was about to be torn apart as he felt his lungs burn like they were being roasted on a grill.

"I'm not going to fucking die in such a stupid way, come on, think! Think! Think!"

He thought he could reach the next town in three days, but he didn't take into account the pace of a child's steps and his low stamina, so it took him a total of five days to reach his current location.

He didn't even know how many kilometers separated him from the next town.

But the worst part was that he fell a few dozen minutes early, facing three monsters that looked like a cross between steroid-fed German shepherds and tigers.

Without even having time to escape properly, the three monsters jumped in his direction, forcing him to flee at full speed.

"Come on think, there must be a solution! I can't die like this, too many people's fate depends on me!"

It is at this precise moment that an accident happened, because of tiredness he slipped on the purified corpse of a bird losing his balance he fell on the ground and rolled on the ground for a brief moment before getting up at full speed, all this did not take more than four seconds but this brief lapse of time was enough for one of the monster that pursued him to catch up and to open its big mouth in his direction.

"Fuck! This is how it's going to end! I'm so useless..."

He thought with resignation seeing the gaping mouth of the mosntre big enough to swallow him whole at some inches of his face.

It was then that he felt a powerful current of air pierce his face and before he had time to understand anything the skull of the monster was already impaled with a knife on a tree several meters away.

The other beasts didn't even have time to react when two other knives as sharp as revolver bullets pierced their skulls with such force that their bodies were carried a dozen meters away.

Before Miles could even react to the situation, a slim man with black hair and a short stature appeared behind him and tackled him to the ground in barely a second, preventing him from moving as he looked at him with cold eyes.

"Decline your ID!"
