Chapter 6 - Chapter 4 : Meet

"I... My name is Miles, I'm from the town of North-Valley!"

Miles answered quickly as he felt the coldness of the knife the man held against his throat.

The man looked at him coldly for a moment before saying slowly in an indifferent voice.

"I'm going to ask you three questions, if you lie to me even once."

"I will kill you."

These merciless words coupled with the man's cold stare caused Miles' tired heart to miss a beat as he took a deep breath trying to calm himself.

"Where are you from?"

"I'm from north..I'm from North-Valley."

"Where are your parents or caregivers?"

"They are ....It is ..."

"Speak!"

"They are dead!"

Miles shouted as tears fell from his eyes causing the man to raise an eyebrow and unconsciously pull his knife away from Miles' throat as he loosened his grip on Miles.

"Last question, are you working for any organization, mercenary group or supernatural creatures? Answer!"

"No I don't work for anyone!"

Miles wiped the tears from his eyes and sat down staring at the man who sheathed his knife in his camouflage outfit, looking at Miles for a short moment before sighing.

"Open your backpack and show me the contents."

Miles toukours nervous executed the order of the man who regada the cans, the kitchen knives, the catte, the other forunitures that he had taken before ordering him to put them back in his bag, which he has any speed.

The man without warning lifted him like a bag of potatoes and jumped in one direction.

Miles saw the ground receding from his view and the landscape around him becoming blurred.

"This man is a mana user! "

"This completely confirms all the information I have so far, I'm really in my novel world!"

"Where is he taking me? My little childish act seems to have convinced him but this individual is dangerous, I'll have to be careful."

Miles' gaze then turned to the man who was firmly holding him while he was deep in thought, but it didn't last, soon they arrived in front of an old brown pick-up truck parked in the middle of the road, in front of which two men were waiting, which made Miles even more suspicious.

"Huh? Fujiwata where the hell did you get a kid from!!"

"That irregular mana, that child was the person pursued by the demons."

The man quickly put Miles on the ground and quickly explained to his two companions what had happened.

"So he's from the burning city we passed through the day before yesterday..."

One of the men who looked to be in his thirties with a shaggy beard put one of his knees on the ground and put his head at the same level as Miles' and said it with a big smile.

"Kid, Miles right?"

Miles slowly nodded his head avoiding the gaze of the man in front of him as a frightened child would have done.

"Do you remember what happened to your city?"

Miles hearing this immediately bowed his head as tears fell from his eyes.

"Our town, it was attacked by red monster look like bats with big wings...they...they killed daddy, mommy and...and...*sob* *sob* everyone in the town...even my friends are...*sob* all dead."

The man hearing this sighed deeply before shaking his head and then stroking Miles' hair.

"It's all right, kid. We're going to send you someplace nice, or we'll take good care of you."

"My name is Park Tae-Wook, the grumpy guy who brought you is called Fujiwara and the ugly, scary man with lots of scars is called Aron, tell me will you follow us until we send you back to safety?"

"It's your mom who's ugly and scary!"

The man named Aron exclaimed as Tae-Wook stared at Miles as if waiting for his answer.

"I need information and security to follow for now is types is the best thing to do."

Miles thought as he nodded agreeing to follow the three who quickly climbed into the pickup.

Miles sat on the passenger side of the pickup next to Tae-Wook who was driving, the first few minutes he was cautious and didn't let his guard down until he gradually relaxed and fell asleep a few minutes later.

"The kid is really sleepy, with such dark circles on his face, I wonder how long it's been since he's slept."

"Me I wonder rather how he managed to survive so long in this fucking hell zone, he's lucky that kid, seeing him, I almost thought it was the work of a polymorph or a trap of a group of scavengers."

Fujiwara thinking about Miles running, chased by demons could not help but sigh.

"In any case it has just confirmed your theory, the government has really decided to abandon cities in red areas."

Aron said rubbing his head while looking with an eye Tae-Wook in the cabin whose hands clutched the steering wheel of the car while in the rearview mirror his eyes gave off a scarlet glow.

No one spoke in the pickup anymore, the silence settled in the car which then drove at high speed on the road.
