Chapter 3 - A healer who doesn't heal.

Since the beginning itself, even though Wang GuiYing had chosen the role of a healer, he had no plans of actually healing anyone.

He had zero interest in being such a backup that was not even given recognition for how hard they worked.

There were only two reasons why he had chosen the role of the healer. The first was because a healer was not given importance and hence, there were not really any expectations linked with them. To put it simply, being a healer wasn't something very bothersome.

The second reason why he chose this role was because healers had a few perks that none of the other roles had. Perhaps this served as a bigger reason behind choosing the role of a healer.

Coincidentally enough, it just happened to be that Asmodeus' team did not have any healers.

"Don't get in our way," Another teammate clicked his tongue as he glared at Wang GuiYing and warned.

This boy was nicknamed 'Zeus' in the team and he was an attacker as well. So far, it looked like this Zeus was pretty close to Asmodeus and shockingly enough, Wang GuiYing had no complaints with him simply because this boy actually played according to his role and attacked the opponents head-on, unlike Asmodeus who preferred to hide behind the rest of the team.

If Wang GuiYing felt that Asmodeus was like BBtrash then Zeus was like Hulk0_0.

Excluding Zeus and Asmodeus, there were two more attackers in the team and they were named 'Ares' and 'Hector'.

In total, the team had four attackers, one informant, one contractor, three collectors, two mages, and one healer. Unsurprisingly enough, the team was made focusing on attack rather than defense, and hence, there were no shielders in the team.

A total of twelve members in a team was quite impressive, however, this was only if they actually managed to work well together.

"I won't get in the way even if you ask me to," Wang GuiYing beamed as he leisurely crossed his hands behind his head, "If you beg, of course, I'll consider it."

"You can keep daydreaming," One of the mages scoffed as she commented. This player was the only girl on the team and was called 'Acantha'.

Wang GuiYing tilted his head with a smile as he looked over at the girl and asked sarcastically, "Are you guys greek mythology geeks?"

Acantha blushed as she heard this and immediately looked away, trying to save herself from the embarrassment as she tried to respond in a calm tone, "Asmodeus came up with the idea."

Wang GuiYing chuckled as he heard this and spoke, "Then among you greek gods, this Laozi feels like the odd one out."

"Whatever," Acantha rolled her eyes as she walked ahead, following after Zeus who had taken the lead to head inside the dungeon.

Excluding Acantha, there was one more mage in the team and he was called 'Damon'. Another name that was probably inspired by some greek God.

Wang GuiYing couldn't help but wonder if these people even knew that these greek Gods, whom they were named after, hardly got along together without any fights.

The more time Wang GuiYing spent with this team, the more he wanted to diss this team.

"Keep a lookout!" Asmodeus ordered out cautiously, "The snake is said to be good at hiding and loves sneak attacks."

All the team members nodded their heads as they heard this and looked to be on their guards with every step they took.

Wang GuiYing, who walked behind everyone, was perhaps the only player who looked to be calm and careless.

He walked as if he was walking through the safest beach on the planet, taking his time to enjoy the breeze and the lovely atmosphere.

Even Wang GuiYing's eyes were closed as he walked, following the sound of the footsteps coming from the rest of the team that walked ahead of him.

After a few minutes, one of the footsteps disappeared and Wang GuiYing's smile deepened as he sharply opened his eyes.

The snake had already made its move, however, it seemed that Wang GuiYing was the only one who had noticed one of the missing collectors.

If he were to warn the other players about this, they would probably be a bit more observing of their surroundings, but since Wang GuiYing had zero plans of helping them, he kept his mouth shut and followed behind them without any worries.

From the corner of his eyes, he could see the wall that had slightly moved and his smile turned into a smirk as he realized where the snake was hiding.

"As someone great had once said," Wang GuiYing suddenly sighed out as he spoke out loud, "The best place to hide is to hide right in front of the enemy."

Some of the teammates looked back at him with a frown as they heard this, but nobody seemed to be interested in deciphering the warning behind Wang GuiYing's words.

This was probably for the best since their own ignorance was going to lead to their downfall.

Wang GuiYing had already hinted the warning so that he would not need to feel guilty when the players really do get killed by the snake.

"How much longer do we have to walk?" Hector clicked his tongue as he looked over at the informant and questioned.

The informant called 'Castor' shook his head as he spoke, "Don't know. There haven't been many players who have dared to come here so there is no proper information about the snake. It would be best to just expect the worst at this point."

Wang GuiYing silently nodded his head as he agreed with this informant.

Castor was clearly spelling it out just as it was, without sugarcoating anything to spread false hope and security.

"It's just a snake. How difficult can it be to defeat a small slithering pipe-like thing...?!" Hector spoke, underestimating and mocking the monster that they were yet to see.

Wang GuiYing almost wanted to laugh at how stupid this attacker was, but he tried his best to hold it in as he looked at Castor and waited for his response.

"We must not underestimate the monster," Castor spoke with a sigh as he didn't even get offended by Hector's overconfident prideful words.

Suddenly, one of the collectors stopped walking and looked around anxiously before he informed, stuttering, "Um... Guys, I think Julius got left behind."

Asmodeus glared at the collector that had spoken and clicked his tongue as he responded a bit rudely, "If he can't even walk fast enough then it's better for him to stay behind."

Wang GuiYing almost wanted to laugh as he heard this.

Although a collector had informed the team about the missing member, everyone in this team was still acting as if they had locked away their brains in a basement, never to be used again.

The collector immediately shut his mouth as he heard Asmodeus' response and the team continued walking forward without caring about the missing Julius.

"Did you know? The snake never attacks openly nor softly. It stays quiet even as it strangles you to death." Wang GuiYing spoke up, sharing a bit of unappreciated knowledge with everyone, "However, in order to win against a snake, you need to make the snake attack openly and the only way to do that is to be the first to attack it. Strike it before it strikes you down."

His words fell on deaf ears and the only response he got was from the mage Acantha who sneered.

Since no one was paying attention to him, Wang GuiYing took out a small bomb from his inventory and threw it towards the wall on their left.

The rest of the team heard the sound of something knocking against the wall and looked back only to notice a small bomb that they could recognize almost immediately.

Asmodeus opened his mouth to warn everyone but his words were not as fast as the bomb that blew up.

Dust filled the dungeon and the ground began shaking. Nobody was actually hurt because of the bomb but they were certainly angry about it.

"You idiot!" Wang GuiYing heard the voice of Asmodeus and there was no doubt that these words were aimed at him only.

The walls that covered them began to move and although it could not be seen, it could certainly be felt with the change in air pressure.

Acantha was probably the first to notice this as she cried out, "The snake is here!"

Damon, the second mage in the team, immediately reacted to this as he summoned a gush of wind inside and blew all the smoke away.

From above, a pair of yellow vertical slit eyes stared down at them and the rest was just plain darkness.

"Attack!" Asmodeus immediately ordered out and there was a sense of panic in his voice that could be easily noticed.

The three attackers, excluding Asmodeus, and the two mages were the first to move forward as they threw all kinds of attacks on the snake whose black color perfectly blended in with the darkness.

"Of course, even if a snake attacks openly, the chances of defeating it are still quite slim," Wang GuiYing smiled as he spoke.
