Chapter 2 - Let this Laozi teach you, kids

[Sure. Let this Laozi teach you, kids, a few things.]

Asmodeus seemed to be a bit surprised as he read this comment but he didn't sound to be too worried about it as he chuckled and enthusiastically responded, "I'll see you in the next game then."

Wang GuiYing closed the livestream and searched for the game 'Dungeon Wars'.

The game was currently quite famous in the market and there were already over a hundred million downloads.

It was easy to find the game and since the game was currently free to install, Wang GuiYing was able to install it in a matter of just a few minutes.

He opened the game and immediately created a new ID for himself.

When the game asked for a name, Wang GuiYing's fingers came to a pause as he remembered the promise that he had once made to Zhou Xinyi.

He had promised Zhou Xinyi that they would be gaming partners forever and without Hulk, BBtrash would also not play.

It was something that he had said at the spur of the moment but surprisingly enough, he gave a lot of importance to that one unimportant promise.

Since it was like this, he decided to use the loophole that had been left behind in that promise.

The promise clearly stated that BBtrash would not play unless Hulk was present, hence, all Wang GuiYing needed to do was get a new name.

He didn't bother putting too much thought into it as he typed in a random nickname for himself which read as 'Laozi'. The name was just as arrogant as him and he felt that it matched him quite perfectly.

He put in his age and other details quickly before proceeding to choose a role for himself.

Since this was a game usually played in teams, every player got a chance to choose a role for themselves.

There were a total of seven roles that were available for a player to choose from.

Attacker: A role taken by those who were good at attacking from the front. They were usually the ones leading the team and were considered to be the most important in a team. They were capable of using all sorts of weapons.

Informant: As the name suggested, these were the people who would usually work as informants in a team. They would be tasked with infiltrating other teams and guilds to collect information for the team. They had special eyes and ears that helped them find information.

Shielder: The second most important role in a team. Shielders were the ones responsible for the safety of all the members of a team. They were capable of using shields.

Mage: A mage was much alike an attacker. They were capable of using elemental magic like fire and ice, in order to beat their opponents. This was considered to be the third most important role in a team.

Contractor: A role that did not get enough recognition compared to just how important they were in a team. A contractor was the one setting up battles for the team and trading the magic stones that the team managed to collect from the dungeons. Without contractors, the team had no future.

Collectors: After the battle was over, the collectors would come in and collect the magic stones that were hidden throughout the dungeon. This was also an important role, but not many people thought so, and hence, most of the time, collectors were known as the weak players who knew nothing better to do. In short, they were considered to be the lackeys who simply tagged along to reap what little benefits they could gain.

Healer: One of the most important and also the most neglected role. Nobody wanted to be a healer simply because it was difficult to keep healing everyone in the team during a battle. In the end, if the team failed, most of the blame was also thrown at healers, and hence, there were not as many healers in the game as there were attackers.

Making the decision between these seven roles was a crucial decision since it could not be changed in the future.

Wang GuiYing thought about it carefully for a minute before he chose the role of a healer.

Asmodeus' team only had a single healer who had already been thrown out of the team and hence, they were currently looking for another healer.

Since he had been challenged, Wang GuiYing only needed to create a new team and battle it out with Asmodeus, however, creating a new team in a matter of minutes was not an easy task. If he had used his original ID, it would have been a breeze, but at the moment, he was playing as a new gamer whose name had never been heard before this, and hence, things weren't going to be so easy.

So, instead of creating a new team, Wang GuiYing decided to join Asmodeus' team since it was the only option through which he could get closer to the boy and at the same time, defeat the player by overshadowing him in his own team.

If a newbie healer were to overshadow the famous Asmodeus, then it would really be the most embarrassing incident for the boy.

Wang GuiYing continued to go through his inventory and purchased a few useful weapons and elixirs that could help him.

When he was done setting up his character, he searched for Asmodeus' team and sent a request to join them in a dungeon.

At first, it looked as if his request was going to be ignored but soon enough, someone from the team really did accept the request and let the man join them.

"Lol~ The jealous loser really did come," Asmodeus immediately made fun of the man as he spoke with a mocking laugh.

His teammates also looked down on Wang GuiYing as they rudely commented, "To think that a healer bastard had the guts to look down on us. What a joke."

"And why the hell does a healer need a level barricade...?"

A level barricade was an instrument that was used to hide one's level from other players in the game. This was also one of the important things that Wang GuiYing had purchased just now.

"Maybe he's too embarrassed to reveal his level pfft-"

Wang GuiYing was not offended by their words, nor was he interested in talking to anyone except for Asmodeus.

"Did you really come across Hulk?" Wang GuiYing got to the point and asked as he stared at Asmodeus.

It took the boy a minute to understand the sudden question and Asmodeus smirked as he proudly responded, "Why? Do you think I'd lie about something so trivial?"

Wang GuiYing unhesitantly nodded his head, "Fools like you would naturally lie in order to ride on the popularity of others."

Asmodeus certainly did not look to be happy as he gritted his teeth upon hearing this, "Don't get on my nerves."

Wang GuiYing shortly chuckled as he heard this and asked, "Or what? You gonna beat me up or something?"

Asmodeus clicked his tongue, "You're not even worth that."

Wang GuiYing couldn't help but smirk as he heard this and nodded his head as he spoke, "Then let's play. I heard that there is a snake somewhere inside the west dungeons. I'm sure your informant must have already informed you about it. If you can defeat that monster then I'll accept the fact that you are better than me. I'll publicly go and announce my defeat."

Asmodeus frowned as he heard this and his teammates looked to be a little reluctant to agree.

This hesitation was only expected since the snake monster in question was none other than the strongest monster in this whole game. Nobody in the game had defeated it even though many professionals had tried.

"Are you afraid?" Wang GuiYing tilted his head and asked with a smirk.

It needed to be noted that if a player were to die inside 'Dungeon Wars', all of their collected weapons and equipment would be lost and they would have an empty inventory when they get respawned back in the main hall.

"Who is afraid?" Asmodeus easily got incited as he retorted, "Let's do that! And if you lose, you'll have to lick my boot!"

Wang GuiYing thinly smiled as he nodded his head, "Same goes for you as well so you better not lose if you don't want to lick my boot. I have quite the bad luck so I step on dog shit a lot."

Asmodeus scoffed as he heard this, "We'll see about that!"

He agreed to the challenge without even consulting his teammates and that in itself spoke a lot about the boy's personality and the unequally distributed authority there was in the team.

To break this team apart would seem to be easier than Wang GuiYing had expected.

The contactor of the team went ahead and booked the west dungeon for their team before the mage of the team, teleported them all to the mouth of the dungeon.

Since mages could use magic, they were often tasked with the job of teleporting the team from place to place.

"You all should really be sucking up to me," Wang GuiYing commented with a chuckle as he saw the entrance of the dungeon that was home to the most dangerous snake monster in this game, "Afterall, without a healer's help, there is no way you're getting out of this alive."

"Don't worry, I'd rather die than be dependent on a healer," Asmodeus sneered.

"Is that so?" Wang GuiYing looked as if he had heard exactly what he had hoped to hear, "In that case, please don't blame me for your death."
