Chapter 4 - Mission 3 ://: Team 6 Raid the Bandit Encampment

The team is composed of more than 5 members. A Soldier, a Healer, a Hunter, a Scout, a Spy, and 10 trained Acolytes.

Acolytes are the followers of the Altare Cremisi who were not bounded by the absolute rules of the late Crimson Demon. They are normal people who do not possess the powers of the true followers of the cult. But because they exist, they are assigned to raid missions where they are free to kill anyone who wants to kill them. They have to be very loyal to the cult or else they will become tribute for their God.

This team is formed as Platoon and usually will engage in missions that requires necessary killings. If there are threats towards the cult, there will be no hesitation of disposing it with the help of the Acolytes. The captain of this team is the heartless and hot tempered Soldier, who doesn't hold back of killing anything that pisses them off. The Hunter is the vice captain and they is responsible for monitoring the Soldier, who may become a heretic that they needed to dispose off. But so far, they are still loyal to the Altare Cremisi and accepts the high priest's ideals, which they wouldn't abide by it normally.

The Soldier's left eye is carved out and their right arm is replaced by a metal prosthetic arm with sharp nails attached. All cultists have sharp nails except for the human Acolytes. The Soldier also behaves like they doesn't care They will be on their own everytime, which forced the Hunter to take the lead for the time being. Other than that, the Soldier is very capable of leading a small squad of Acolytes for they are proficient with battles that requires quick response.

The mission is to find the bandit camp that trespassed the Altare Cremisi's territory. The first plan would be locate where the camp is, having the Scout handle the job. Because of the Crimson Demon's gift, the Scout easily navigate through the woods with their abnormal agility and dexterity. The jumps very high and moves in long distance in such a short time. It only took them an hour to locate the camp. It is rather strange because the camp is heavily secured by bandits. The Scout would like to investigate first but going inside is not their expertise because of how conspicuous they are. If the bandits have mages they would immediately will be alerted because of their presence if he got close.

It is better if the Spy will investigate the camp from the inside. A Spy can after all disguise themselves as one of the bandits and hide their aura with no problem, since they are trained to do so. The Scout returned and shares the information they got with the team. The Spy agreed to help them investigate if they successfully capture one bandit alive.

The Scout and the Spy arrived in the bandit camp. The camp is heavily guarded by bandits carrying big swords and crossbows. It will be hard to sneak in. The Scout found a broken wall on the northside. The crack could fit only one slim person. Only the Scout can enter due to their slim body. The Spy will wait in the shadows and do not let the bandits spot them.

The Scout sees how busy the camp is. The bandits are well trained and well disciplined. They cannot take charge alone because they will be outnumbered and cannot hold themselves back for killing more than one bandit. Acolytes must be present. The Scout finds someone easy to capture and they found a bandit who looked similar to the Spy. The Scout quickly grabs him and hides behind the boxes. They choked him very hard until he passed out. Then they think of the plan of how they should escape. They heard someone bashing something hard. Like metal struck against metal. If it is what they think it is, they sure are lucky.

One of the tents nearby, there is one bandit doing smithing. He is creating tools for the bandits. A variety of swords, spears, hammers and axes for raids. He is very focused on hammering a hot metal on top of the anvil. This is the chance that the Scout will take. They sneak in the tent and grab pieces of clothes and created a long line. They doused it with oil from a lantern. The bandit is almost finished from finishing the sword. The Scout quickly throws one end of the clothes rope at the forge and burns it. Fire quickly burns the clothes and before the bandit knew it, the fire already spread so fast. He didn't notice the Scout because he was too focused on doing his job. The fire alarmed the whole camp and lots of bandits come with buckets filled with water in order to douse the raging flames.

The Scout successfully sneaked out and carries the unconscious body with them. They just jumped very high over the wall and leaves the scene. The bandits are preoccupied of dousing the flames in the bandit's smith. The Scout eventually meets up with the Spy who will disguise themselves as one of the bandits by taking off the equipment of the unconscious bandit off and wear them. After that the Scout slits the bandit's throat and ensure that he will never wakes up ever again.

The investigation begins and the Spy has infiltrated the camp without doing anything suspicious. They had to help the bandits to clean the Scout's mess. Everything calmed down and the Spy fits in. The Scout then leaves and searches for other possible routes that the others can enter. There are three entryways available. The south, the north and the west side gates. The number of bandits are rounded by 150. The walls are wooden fences so everyone can just vault over them. But they will easily be spotted by the bandits. There is wooden walls on the west and the north side, which looked like it is still under construction. These bandits are creating a fort.

The Spy uncovered what the bandits are planning to do. They set up a base so that they will be able to pillage nearby villages and earn alot of valuables. They are merciless and won't hesitate to kill anyone who dared to stand on their way. The Spy also found who the leader responsible for the bandits. The leader with grey beard and big muscles. The leader is ruthless and fearsome. The followers follow his rules due to his aggressive personality. They thought of the way how to cause a little chaos.

The Spy sneaked out of the camp and rendezvous with his team. They suggested to sabotage the bandit camp and cause tension between them. The Spy is skilled at not being noticed, so they asked the Hunter to create something that will mess with the drinking water of the bandits. The Hunter agreed begins to collect daffodils in the Narciso Plains that is just 20km away from the southeast. The Soldier brought back a dead corpse of a black bear alone. The Acolytes admire the Soldier's strength. The Soldier reminded them that they are the servants of the Crimson Demon and should only put their faith for them. The Healer distributed the brewed concoction for each of the Acolytes that may help them recover from fatigue.

It took them 3 hours of waiting and the Hunter created a poisonous concoction made from daffodils. They handed it to the Spy, instructing how it should be used. The Spy understood and walks back to the camp. The cultists prayed for the Spy's success. The plan is to put small amount of poison on the barrels filled with drinking water. It must not be too toxic that it would kill anyone or else every bandits will be aware of the attack. The amount it should be enough for them to feel nauseous to vomit.

Each time the Spy had the chance to approach the barrels, they make sure no one is looking at their direction. After confirming that the coast is clear, they put pinch of poison in the barrel filled with drinking water. The water is now contaminated. The Spy poisoned a total of 12 barrels before he retreated outside the camp. The bandits will eventually drink it and regret of doing so. They got sick and vomit everywhere. They are very alarmed, and the chaos has started. However, this is not the right chaos.

The leader of the bandits caught wind of it and is determined who the culprit is. But even if he looks, the culprit is long gone. The bandits are very angry that they started disputes. They blamed the guards who were supposed to not let anyone enter the camp. The guards blamed the caretakers who were in charge of their food and water. The caretakers blamed the other bandits who did not pay attention of who poisoned the barrels. Vein is popping out of the leader's head. His nose became red and smokes fumes out of his ears. He was about to shout to gain attention to everyone until someone threw bombs in the camp.

They exploded and caused casualties for the bandits. It shocked everyone. The bombs came from every direction. It's killing them very quickly. The bandits fell into panic and the leader was about to say his order, until he breathe his last breath. The Hunter shoots an poisoned arrow using a crossbow to kill the leader from the distance. The Acolytes that bombed the whole camp ran out of bombs. They unsheath their blades and charges in to battle. The Soldier just bulldozed through dense crowds, making anyone that makes contact with him falls down. The Acolytes threw poisoned smoke bombs that make a person die due to suffocation. All sides are surrounded and the Hunter laid traps beforehand in the forest.

The runners will stumble across pitfall traps and honey jar traps. If they fall to the pitfall traps, the spikes will instantly kill them off due to being impaled by spikes in great height. If the honey jars dropped to their head, not only their head will be hit hard, the red honey will attract the Pungiglione Scarlatto, a type of bees that are very aggressive when provoked. The reason they are called Pungiglione Scarlatto is because of their red stinger, which contains paralyzing agents that will damage the nerves of a person. If one takes too much stings from the bees, their heart will eventually cease to function. The subjugation of the bandits are brutal but necessary for the Altare Cremisi.

2 of the Acolytes unfortunately died because they got attacked by escaping bandits. The other 4 are just injured while the rest are unharmed. The Hunter did their best not to let any bandits escape. The poison smokes spreads further which forced every cultists to retreat. No one will be surviving the poison smoke for long. The mission is considered successful but not awarding. The Healer did their best to heal the injured. The Soldier looks like they didn't care of what happened to everyone. The Hunter had to clean up their own mess and the Scout and Spy had to return to the church to report.

One Acolyte is truly horrified of what he just witnessed. He didn't expect that many would die. The bloody hands is trembling from the guilt of killing. He had never killed before. He didn't want to be a criminal. He wanted to escape. He stands up and starts to shout then runs away. The Soldier got pissed and caught up to the escaping Acolyte then crushed their skull with their own hands.

The Altare Cremisi is a demon religion created by the cultists serving for their god, the Crimson Demon. The absolute rule binded them and it caused a great toll among the cultists. But their faith remains burning fiercely. They are devout to do anything to serve the Crimson Demon's legacy. Someday they will return and create the ideal world for the return of their god.

No matter what, nothing else matters but to put their devotion for the Crimson Demon. All the traitors and heretics who will cause disharmony of the cult will have to perish. That is what everyone in the cult believes in.
