For a moment, she forgot to breathe. All she could see was a man who was so blindingly beautiful that she could think of nothing else. Her eyes locked into his gray ones, watching the dark pupil inside them dilate slowly. It was like watching the clouds form and disband. Clouds that were fast darkening. Clouds that were no more as clear as silver.
The regent's eyes slid down her body, his nose flaring wide as they finally rested on the bloodstains painted on her skirt. She watched as his soft expression changed to a shocked one. Eve blushed, suddenly becoming conscious of her state.
She quickly pushed herself away from him, lowering her head respectfully. Damn it! She swore in her mind. Why did it have to be him of all people? Why did he have to see her like this? What would he think of her now? She wondered, her heart beating against her chest anxiously.
