Theo's POV
A lone howl pierced through the depths of the forest as a creature sped through the thicket with lightning speed, its feet barely touching the weed-strewn ground that was fast melting the frost that had settled on it overnight. The weaker shrubs swayed violently as it did, notwithstanding the pressure of the gust that accompanied the movement.
The birds perching on the lower branches quickly flew higher in fear of the beast that a human would hardly notice before it was too late. For the former knew how dangerous it could be to be caught under its paws even by chance. They had higher chances of escaping a jungle cat's grip. The vibrations of the howl echoed through the rows of ancient moss-garbed trees and died out among its kin.
