Martina has no other way to run away from Aga Wilson. He caught her when she didn't open the back door as soon as she reached the safe place. Her eagerness to take a break disappeared because of his not-so-appreciated presence.
Her eyes were red, yet, she was still breathing heavily while Aga was walking towards her way. She fiercely shook her head as a sign of determination, but sometimes, he acted like a stubborn boss.
Aga Wilson persisted with his actions. His hands were on his pocket and looked at her weary eyes.
There was no other person at the back door. They were alone and whatever he wanted to do with her, Martina couldn't ask for help.
"Stop right there!" She commanded. But he seemed certain of his plans and that was to stop her from running away all over again. "I said stop!"
For the second time around, Martina yelled at him. He was her boss, but she acted like a teenager who met her terrible admirer coincidentally.
She did everything. She gave her best, yet the man before her was too powerful than her. Aga Wilson quickly grabbed her wrist as he tightened the grip on it. He had been waiting for the perfect timing to confess, but every time he tried, it always ended up like a mess and failure.
"Let go of my hand!" Martina said. Her face was scarlet, but no one cared about it anymore. She had been a stubborn woman in his eyes, before she became a lonesome person, someone must save her from solitary.
And from Aga's perspective, there was no other man who deserved a woman like Martina. He knew her since college and it was one of the things she'd wanted. It came from her mouth when she said that he wanted a man who already knew her.
A man who had an idea what kind of woman she would be. But everything he imagined was impossible. Martina had finally found and met the love of her life in the forest. She didn't know that because of a book, she reached the werewolves' territory.
The incident that had taken place that afternoon became an angel in disguise for her. In the past three months, Martina had realized that she missed Blue Dobinson every single moment.
She sometimes wondered what her life would be if she didn't lie to him that night. Martina regretted everything she did, but at this moment, there was no assurance that she would find him once again.
"What's wrong with you? I said, let go of my hand!" This time around, Aga Wilson failed to control his emotions. He didn't want to see Martina desperate to see someone who didn't even exist before.
Her weary, reddish eyes suddenly devoured with warm fluid that surprised him. It was not his intention. He neither wanted to hurt nor force Martina to give back the same feeling he had towards her. Aga only wanted her to see him as a man; a man who had secretly been in love with her since his college years.
He'd waited for how many years. He kept silent and listened to her in peace. Aga did his best to be the best man for Martina, he was willing to protect her from anyone, inside and outside of the office. But the truth was different from his imagination.
Even a single moment, he had never seen happiness and excitement in her eyes every time they were together. Aga should have thrown his one-sided love for her while he had still the chance to over with the pain.
Now that there was no way to skip the consequences, he has no other option but to fight fairly.
"Just a moment," he said. "Stay here with me for a moment." Aga pleaded as he swallowed his pride over a tenacious woman. He had never been in the same place before as girls often begged instead him.
For a second, he tightly closed his eyes and sighed in disbelief. It was supposed to be an ordinary conversation, but he could no longer keep it from her.
Martina was taken aback. She thought she was dealing with an intruder, but right after she blinked her eyes and opened them as wide as they could be, she stumbled upon the plain truth.
Dalia was right. All along she was blinded with something she couldn't even publicize. She lived in despair because of the careless decisions she'd ever made in her existence. At some point, she should have had leaned her ears to her best friend who was there right behind during those times of darkness and pain.
After a long parade, Martina came back to her senses. Guilt and consciousness had drawn all over her face. It was disturbing that she'd been isolated from the real world, from her life because of the werewolf who shouldn't mark her as the alpha's mate for the rest of his life.
"I'm sorry for stopping you from run—" Aga Wilson was about to ask for forgiveness when she cut him off. It confused him as he thought, she would slap his face as hard as it could be.
But the most surprising part was when she threw herself into his chest and wrapped her arms around his waist. Aga was left speechless, but his heart said everything that he was supposed to tell her earlier. Anger, jealousy, and even disappointments disappeared by a simple, but meaningful embrace.
He thought it would be the end of their friendship if he could have had the courage to confess.
"M-Martina," he said as he tried to catch a glimpse of her face. "What's wrong? D-did I say something that hurt you? Did I grasp your wrist too tight?" He sounded desperate. But he only wanted to confirm one thing for sure.
And fate was on his side without his knowledge.
"You didn't do anything wrong," she replied as she cried in silence. She didn't want to be seen as miserable by anyone. Instead of letting her feelings out, she had chosen Aga Wilson as an instrument to forget the creature she missed for ninety-two days.
"However, may I ask you a f-favor?" Martina asked him as her voice was firm and was covered with darkness.
Before he uttered a single word, he gulped and took a deep breath. He prepared himself for the pain and agony that he might feel in the future.
"A f-favor?" he replied shortly. "Of course! What is it? Tell me, Martina!" Aga faked it. His voice was filled with excitement that differed from what he kept beneath his chest. He must endure everything for the sake of Martina—his first and last love.
At that moment, Martina tightened the grip on his waist. It was the first time she'd dared to lay her fingers on him. She never thought there was peace in him that she had never felt in Blue's arms before.
"Help me… help me to forget B-Blue Dobinson." She murmured that left him dumbfounded.
