Martina was awakened by the cold breeze as it freely entered the hospital room. She was accompanied by her mother who had fallen asleep at the right corner.
She then gasped as she looked through the window for a second.
It was strange that there was a shadow behind it. Martina was certain that someone was watching her while she was sleeping.
Instead of fear, she had felt a tremendous feeling. It was warm even though she hadn't felt it before.
She sighed and said, "Is there someone out there?"
Martina didn't know that there was a stranger who cared for her secretly. Since she stepped her foot into the werewolves' territory, her life changed and now, she was paying for everything.
"If you are not deaf enough. If you are brave enough, then why don't you show yourself to me?" Martina spoke with no trace of fear and disturbance.
Her instincts were stronger than fears beneath her chest. She knew it was the same with the man's presence she had seen in the forest.
However, the longer she waited, the longer the stranger stayed behind the dark.
He was listening to the young woman's deep breaths, but he suddenly remembered that a human couldn't be with a monster like him.
"Forgive me, but this is not the right time to introduce myself to you," he said quietly.
Beside him, there were his two friends standing next to the alpha. It was their role; to ensure that he was safe and unharmed.
"What are you doing? She's coming towards us!" George asked the alpha exhaustingly.
He couldn't take the risk over an ordinary woman like Martina. Conrad knew that it would only bring chaos to the pack members.
In other words, the alpha's life would be on the brink of death and there would no other way to escape his fate if he won't stop chasing a human being.
But Blue Dobinson remained still as he couldn't take off his eyes of her. He was merely enchanted by Martina's beauty.
It was hard for him to at least take a glimpse of the woman who caught his attention. Blue didn't understand why he was addicted to her scent and presence.
"Stay here, I'll be right back!" he said that shocked George.
He thought the alpha would agree with him, but it seemed like he was out of his mind since he saw her in the forest.
George rubbed his nape and said, "Ugh! I don't really understand why he's acting like a teenager!"
Conrad, who was standing beside him suddenly chuckled. He said, "Can't you feel it? Blue is acting strange when he saw that girl in the forest. Then, he must be in love—truly in love."
"Damn it! Why don't you shut up your mouth before she caught us here!"
As quick as the flash of lightning, George grabbed his hand and brought them on the rooftop while Blue entered Martina's room bravely.
At some point, the longing in his heart instantly vanished the moment he found the woman he was looking for.
He took steps closer to her as she was looking at the ground. As if the king has come to see her.
"What is your name, young lady?" he asked while his heart was filled with butterflies.
Martina widened her eyes when she heard his deep, husky voice. She was certain that his voice seemed familiar.
How would she forget the man's voice either? It was the first thing she'd noticed the night she had lost the way back home.
"Who are you? How… how did you enter into my room?"
"Calm down. Please, don't make any scene here!" said Blue as he only wanted to know what was her name.
But Martina pretended that she didn't know him. She acted like she had amnesia and she couldn't remember everything since she gained her consciousness.
It would be the perfect alibi to avoid him from intruding again into her room.
"If you don't want to be caught, leave this place and you will be safe as well. If you come to see me again, I don't have any other choice but to sue you. Do you understand?" Martina told him without a blink of an eye.
However, Blue felt that she wasn't truly sincere. He felt that there was something she'd wanted to say, but for some reason, Martina pretended that she didn't know him at all.
All of the butterflies in his stomach had disappeared. The happiness he felt earlier shrouded by and pain replaced it.
Blue bowed his head in despair. How would a werewolf dare to fall in love with a human being? He was naïve enough as he fell into an obvious trap.
"I thought marking you that night would be an assurance. But it seems like I'd failed to hypnotize a woman like you."
"Kissing me will never be an assurance, Mister! If you want to win a woman's heart, why don't you court her and show to her your genuine intentions?" she said that caught his guard down.
Blue Dobinson didn't know that she was a firm woman. She would stand at the very least as long as she was in the right position.
Despite such poisonous heartache, he gathered all his strengths and looked intently into her eyes.
He said, "I thought you couldn't remember me, then how did you know that a mark I was referring to is solely a kiss? How would you prove your innocence, young lady?"
Martina was taken aback. Her eyes were filled with questions as she tried her best to get rid of the memory of him in her mind.
His sparkling eyes down to his firm jawline, Martina didn't forget everything she saw that night. It was merely impossible to forget a person who had captured her heart for no reason.
For countless times, she gulped as she thought of an alibi. While she was trying to escape from the truth, Blue took steps closer to her.
"Look at me," he said quietly. "I said, look into my eyes!"
"Why did you come to see me?" she whispered and held back her breath.
Slowly as it was, Martina lifted her head and met his deep gaze. It was the same way how they both looked into each other's eyes that cold, velvet night.
