Looking at Chrystal closely thinking back to Vince's words, 'He said when he explain his situation to her she didn't accept his proposal. So why is it she is lying to me?'
Chrystal observed the furrowed brows on Vanda's face and had a fair idea of what she must be thinking, she decided to defend her cause knowing now she will need her support now that she has accepted the proposal,
"Vanda the truth is, it never cross my mind, not even once, I just thought he love me and wanted to get married, but thinking about it now he said he didn't want to get married."
Vanda notices how she covered her mouth and open her eyes as if she only realized something, "Oh my goodness Vanda, it seems as though what you are saying is the truth, at no time before that night did he ever indicate to me that he wanted to get married. You are so right he was given no choice in the matter, but now that he knows I said yes, I hope he changes his and GP's mind?"
"Chrystal, I know he loves you but a month ago, GP told him about getting married, he only had two weeks to reply so Vince agreed."
"Two weeks?"
"Yes, GP give him two weeks to bring the person of his choice, and if he didn't, then he was going to find a partner that is compatible for him.
Chrystal when I was speaking to him this evening, he told me GP already made arrangements for the wedding, and it is set for next Saturday; I can truly understand the tension he is experiencing. Chrystal, he was telling me just this evening that he hasn't even seen the person he is expected to marry."
Chrystal recalled that beautiful evening so clearly went he invited her out to dinner, 'He had gotten her a dozen of beautiful red and blue roses.
We had dinner then we dance, when we returned to the table he went on his knees and proposed. It was so romantic.
'Oh my goodness, it was a month ago, but he told me to think about it. Then he said exactly what Vanda said, but if I said I knew then I won't get her support, I should do like I don't know about the option. But he did ask me two days later if I made my decision. Oh Lord, why didn't I say yes then, now this news of his marriage is not good, not good at all, what can I do to change their minds?'
"Vanda, from what you are saying I know, that's not good news, but I still have a few days to change both of their minds."
"Chrystal, I hope you know that I love my brother very much, and GP is pretty special in our life and had a lot to do with our upbringing. I only hope you are not plotting something to hurt GP or anyone else in my family because Vince won't take that lightly, and you know when he is angry the beast is awakened in him.
He can tumble any mountain when it comes to the people he loves; I know that love is blind, and there is no reasoning, so be very careful as you thread along this path."
"I will take heed to your warning Vanda, but I am not giving up, I love Vince and I know he loves me very much."
"Then why the hell you didn't accept his proposal in the first place? Now he is hurting and stressed out all because you rejected his proposal."
"Try to understand Vanda, I had recently gotten a promotion in the company and was expected to get the opportunity to continue my research in Germany. I have dreamt of this since I started working in the Chemical plant. It was only after Vince's second proposal, I started thinking that my salary is good enough and the family has its own business.
I didn't want to end up lonely, but every time I tried calling Vince, to tell him that I have accepted his proposal, his phone was either busy or switched off."
"Then I hope you are successful because you know I care for them a lot and I don't want to have to choose, because you know who I will be choosing?"
"I know Vanda that blood is thicker than water but trust me, I won't put you in that position, so will you help me?"
"I will do what I can, as long as no one is hurt in the process."
"Thank you so much, you are a very good friend and I will never forget that."
"Well, what are friends for?"
With both laughing's, they mingle around listening to him sing his heart out for his fans, The evening was enjoyable not having a care in the world, Vanda felt so proud listening to him expressing himself as he play his guitar.
Vanda mingles with the group of youths as they converse while they were listening to romantic music and making their input.
She and Chrystal were just having their last drink before leaving the club and the group of youths.
They were speaking so highly of Vince, and unable to contain herself feeling so happy she said to them, "Vince is my brother."
When the young lady name Jacqueline heard her words, she said to Vanda, "My friend I want you to introduce him to me?"
Vanda looks at Chrystal who seems angry, but she said nothing knowing she was already half-drunk.
What Vanda didn't expect was when Chrystal said as she stood up in a haste, "What is wrong with you, are you blind he has a girlfriend already?"
"I don't care he looks like a suitable candidate that will please me just for a night," Jacqueline replies angrily because of her attitude
Chrystal was so enraged with her words, without a warning she stepped up to Jacqueline before Vanda could stop her and slapped the young lady causing a problem.
When Jacqueline stood up, Vanda said, "Look, I am sorry for my friend's behaviour you see she loves my brother."
