Holding Sidney's mom's hand, Vince felt that her body was trembling, saying to her immediately, trying to get her to relax. "Aunt, please, there's no need to worry, I will see that everything is taken care of, and tell me the cost of the Hall and I will give you the cash."
Hazel wanted to reassure him, "Son, you don't understand, the hall is our responsibility and there will be no cost for your family, my family will take care of all the expenses."
Seeing the way his eyebrows were furrowed and he was looking at her in confusion, wondering, 'What on earth he was thinking about?' Hazel noticed the way he turn around viewing through the house.
Vince was unable to understand why she was rejecting to accept his assistance. 'What is wrong with her? They need the cash so why is she refusing to give me the total cost for the wedding, it will not be a problem for us to offset all of the expenses.'
When she smile, Vince wanted to touch her face to reassure her that it wasn't a problem to offset the cost. But at that moment it was she that was reassuring him that it has all been taken care of.
When she reaches out and stroked my hand in such a motherly manner, it was very comforting, to hear her saying softly, "This is my family business, as you can see, we sell roses and Caroline manages this part of the business, she is responsible for maintaining the field of roses."
'Not wanting to pry into their business, Vince just listens, wanting to know what that has to do with the renting of the hall?'
"Aunt, I don't understand what that has to do with the renting of the Hall?" Without thinking she reaches out her hand and touches his face.
Feeling the gentle motherly touch on his face, it was the sweetest feeling that causes his heart to soften immediately, it was as gentle as when GP is speaking to him.
"Son, my family owns the Hall. Georgia is my second daughter; she has her job but mostly works at night, so she assists Caroline when we have a surplus of orders. And as you see I only take up the orders and give orders."
Vince hears her laugh, recalling the child chuckling, only this laughter was laced with joy. 'Wanting so much to hear about Sidney but she said nothing concerning Sidney.'
Having no choice he said sweetly, "Then don't worry about anything else Aunt, I will help with whatever needs to be done."
Seeing her close her eyes. and her face paled he become concerned "Aunt, what is wrong?"
When she tightened her hold on his hand, Vince becomes fearful as he thought for a moment she was going to get sick, but then she whispers. "Son, all I want is for you to take care of my child, that is all I am asking, everything else I will handle it."
"Okay Aunt, I understand, and Haley already told me she will be by the hall. I am passing that way and we can discuss this matter further."
"Son, Sidney, is very busy, she has only gone to the Hall to instruct the decorators on what they need to do, and then she has some work to do in Lakeside."
"Aunt, one other thing, I need to meet her to get the measurement for a ring, tell me where in Lakeside she will be, and I will go to her."
"Sorry Son, I don't know exactly where in Lakeside she went, all she told me is, she has to meet someone there concerning some business. And Son, she doesn't like to be disturbed when she is with her clients, but when I am coming Tuesday, I will bring her along and the two of you can make your arrangement."
"Aunty, I will not be home until after six from the office."
"Then that will be perfect for Sid, she comes home from work after five."
"Aunty, can I get a contact number for her, and we will finalize everything while I am in town?" Looking at her hoping she will give her number but she looks so tired.
Vince wanted to meet Sidney alone so they could come to some sort of understanding and also she needs to know that this wedding is on though matter how she protests. GP is depending on me and now her mom is depending on me.'
Noticing when her mom gets up, then suddenly her body slumps down in the chair without any warning.
Fear builds up when her voice came out in a whispering cry, as she calls out for Carol, right before her eyes close. Her body seems to let go as her head tilts to the left. Both of her hands fall loosely on each side of the chair and she seems to lose consciousness.
Becoming afraid Vince speaks to her, "Aunt, what is wrong? Come on speak to me," Feeling his forehead wet as the sweat began to roll down his face.
'Dear God, what is wrong with her? Was, I asking too many questions? Was I the cause for her getting sick, what is my crookedness this day? This is the second person to collapse on me today?'
Vince ran outside and called Haley to come quickly and to call her sisters. Returning inside once more taking her hand in his he kept calling out to her, "Aunt, please open your eyes?"
Hearing the child squealing right before George enters the hall. Hearing George telling her to call Carol.
She seems to be in shock as her small eyes widen in fear. When Georgia shakes her and said, "Haley, hurry up and call Carol." It was then the tears started to roll down her face as she ran out the door.
As soon as the child was out the door Georgia came quickly and touches her mom.
When she looks up at me saying, "Can you get me some water please, Mom, I am here, relax please."
